Fighting Dreamers ; Part Two

Neji and Sakura

"Neji...Let me see..." Sakura whispered.

"Get away from me," Neji said, but he didn't move.

Sakura slowly edged to Neji's sleeve, and in a swift motion, she lifted it up.

"Oh...My God..."

Neji clenched his eyes shut.

"He's still doing this to you? I thought you said everything was fine..."

"That was two damn years ago, Sakura. Then you had to go and ruin everything."

"Don't blame this on me."

But she knew it was her fault.

"Then you want me to blame it on him?"

But he knew it wouldn't be fair.

It was like that for a while, a dark, cloudy night. A swing, and the two rivals.

"NEJI!!!"

Neji and Sakura looked up at Ino, whose hair was messy and it seemed like her make up was put on randomly without a mirror. Neji quickly re covered his arm.

"Ino?" Sakura stared.

"NEJI! WHAT HAPPENED TO MY BROTHER?!" Ino screamed. She marched in front of the unfazed Hyuuga and tried her best glare.

It really made Neji double take on why he had asked her out.

"My men beat him up," Neji stated simply.

Sakura stared, it wasn't really true. Neji did have the guys out of his group for hitting Naruto. Plus, he never intended there to be a fight.

"Ino it was an accident, Neji actually-"

"SHUT UP, FOREHEAD GIRL! THIS IS BETWEEN ME AND MY BOYFRIEND!!!" Ino screamed.

Sakura stiffened. "What did you-"

"WHY DID YOU BEAT HIM UP?!"

Neji took a toothpick and stuck it in his mouth.

After a while, Neji said, "What's wrong, Ino? I thought you agreed to go against Haruno. If I remember correctly, that fox is in her group."

Ino gawked. "I-I didn't think..."

Neji stood up and loomed over Ino.

"What. What didn't you think?"

Ino didn't say anything and left her mouth open like a fish.

Sakura watched Neji's figure fade away from her as he walked away.

"Ne-Neji kun! Wait!" Ino called and she ran after him.

Sakura watched the two leave and she made her way back to the swing.

Sitting down again, Sakura stared at the clouds which had covered the moon completely.

"Two years ago..."

Naruto

Naruto cursed loudly and he rammed into Kiba's couch, punching his throw pillows.

"Hey, chill," Kiba suggested and he poured some dog food for his dog, Akamaru.

The dog yipped in glee and ran around his master's leg.

"How can I?! That girl!! She's not my sister!!!" Naruto yelled in fury and he threw a heart shaped pillow out the apartment.

"Hey! That's my sisters'! She's going to kill me!" Kiba yelled and he ran to the front door.

Naruto cursed loudly again and sat on the couch. He was staring holes in the walls.

Akamaru barked and jumped on Naruto's lap.

Casually, Naruto pat the dog's head and sighed.

"You lucky beast, you can just eat and sleep all day. You don't have the worry about toilets," Naruto said and he picked up Akamaru.

A few mintes passed by and Akamaru was falling asleep on Naruto's lap.

Naruto sighed.

"What's keeping that guy? I didn't throw the pillow that far did I?"

Getting up, Naruto made his way towards the hallway that led to the front door.

The marooned door was ajar and the sound of rain was being heard through the creaks. Naruto opened the door and poked his head out.

"Kiba?"

CLICK.

"Happy to see me?"

Naruto gawked.

Kiba was in the arms of a man in black, while another guy had a gun pointed in Naruto's direction.

This, Naruto and Kiba could handle.

Oh...but the worst was about to come.

Naruto gulped.

"Zabuza."

Two Years Ago

"What's your name?"

"What's yours?"

Laughter.

"Okay, I guess it's polite. I'm Haruno Sakura! Welcome to Konoha HighSchool!"

"Please to meet you, I'm Momochi Haku."

It was spring when he showed up. Everyone seemed to look at him as the girl who dressed up in boy's clothing. Even a few guys started to hit on him.

But he just laughed them off.

"You're pretty cool! You want to be in my gang?"

"Your...gang?"

"Yeah! We go to movies and stuff!"

Relief.

"Okay."

Everyone basically welcomed Haku as soon as he waltzed in the door. At first, he seemed a bit uneasy about being called a "gang".

"Let's go to the movies this Saturay, Sakura chan!!"

"Calm down, Naruto...Uhm...let's see "Dangerous minds!" Okay, Haku?"

"Whatever you want, Sakura san."

"Right!!!"

...but he found out he didn't care as much as he thought he did.

"Tickets for six!"

"Sakura chaaaan, can you pay this much?"

"Yeah, forehead girl. Not all of us have money."

"You think I can sneak Akamaru in?"

"Hn."

"I'll pay if you want Sakura san."

"It's okay, Haku!"

Six of them. There was six of the and they were happy.

"That was a good movie."

"I guess."

"Isn't that right..Haku-"

BAM.

Nothing lasts forever.

"A gun?! What the hell?!"

"Sakura san! Get down!"

"Sakura chan!"

"Ino, get Sakura out of here, Naruto and I will cover!"

"Right!"

"Haku, it's been a while."

"Who the hell?!"

Secrets were always a big thing.

"Momochi Zabuza san, you came for me?"

"Don't flatter yourself, Haku. After your stunt I want nothing to do with you."

"Ah, I've been meaning to do something about that, Zabuza san,"

"Enough. I'm here for the Uzumaki children."

"I'm sorry..."

Haku wanted atonement; to be forgiven.

"I can't let you take those who are dear to me."

And maybe he just might get it.

"HAKU!!!"

"Hey, Neji?"

"What."

"I...I really..."

"Sakura, leave me alone."

"It's about Haku! He just got shot!!! I need your-"

"I waited."

"What?"

"Just like you said I wouldn't do, I did."

Two years ago

"A...punishment?"

"Yes, this mark on my forehead indicates that I am part of the branch family."

"Why are you telling me?"

"Because..."

Maybe there was a time...

"I trust you."

When there was peace.

"I...was only gone for two days, Neji!"

"Not two days! Two damn years!"

"This isn't fair, and you know it!!!"

"Tee hee, you are such a softie, Neji!"

"Shut up and get in the car."

Oh, what wonderful memories.

"Cheeeeesy!"

What blissful times.

"You talk too much."

"Come back, Neji! I really need you right now! I don't know what to do and-"

BAM.

"Ne-Neji..."

"Why don't you go back to him? You two were one hell of a couple."

"Wait..please...He...that guy betrayed us! He's the one that told Zabuza's gang where Haku was!!!"

"Isn't that ironic."

Door slams.

And crying starts.

"I met someone, today, Neji!"

"Really, now?"

Did you think things would go so smoothly?

"Mm hmm! He said that I was smart and I should form a gang..."

"Sakura, you're in my group."

"Don't worry, we'll still be friends!"

...things will remain so peaceful?

"Sakura, who is this guy? Why is he telling you to do this?"

"Neji, I don't see what the problem is..."

"Just tell me."

"Neji? What's wrong? Here, let me-"

SLAP.

"Don't. Touch. Me."

"Ne-Neji..."

"What's his name."

"His name...his name is Uchiha Sasuke kun."

Think again.

Sakura

"They're still punishing him..." Sakura mumbled to herself.

It was pouring, the rain was numbing her entire body. The building in front of her was dark and loomy. A pipe was carrying water to the side of the house and making a loud, thrashing noise.

The Hyuuga esates.

Sakura pressed her hand aganst the door and leaned into it.

The door opens.

Yeah, some nejixsakuraxSasuke action!! *celebrates*

I felt so sad for neji in this chapter, to have and lose a friend, to be trapped. And how did Sasuke messed things up? Why did he mess things up by telling sakura to form her own gang?

And stupid Ino, didn't she know that her brother and neji will clash at some point?


Anyway, as always, i love the story, the style, and i'm off to re-read the other chapters in hopse of finding clues to what will happen next.

wow... i must say, the plot is quite interesting and the characters aren't too OOC... although i do hope things progress a wee bit faster... no more evil cliffhangers? >_<
