Alright, so yeah, i've been pretty inspired to write as of late and right now i'm putting a final stitch over the gash in my heart. Sounds cliche, sure, but hell, all this angst makes for some good poetry. Everyone seemed to like Never Said in some sort of way. Hopefully people can identify some with this. I've been struggling some with alcohol problems and addictions in general. Thanks everyone.
Love is Another Name for Suicide
The poison generously passing through my lips
A calming burn down my throat
Warmth enveloping my insides
Head dizzy, the world seems on kilter for once
My stomach in complete protest
Driven to drink again-
Inadequate and empty,
Another night spent with unwanted company
Mr. Jack Daniels kills the sorrow
But it?ll be back tomorrow
Hangovers are ex-lovers
After it?s finished,
The pain still lingers
Blindsided by over stimulation
Temptation
Temptation
Temptation
You and it, I can only succumb to
Both alike,
Nice at first but a chilling bite
Taken apart
Bare and irrational,
I care no more
It?s killing me
Truly, I am dead inside
The disease claims me,
Bit by bit ever consuming
Dismantled
What the hell am I doing?
It?s love
A condition with no cure
Unpredictable,
Therefore untreatable
My remedy is nothing short of pathetic
Gaps trying to be filled with empty bottles
The drug far too powerful-
Hits without hesitation
Leaves you breathless, aching, yet?
Needing
Can?t go on without the love buzz
Lacking something basic
Incomplete, feeling worthless
Love is a quick fix
You feel good, but eventually worthless
Alcohol filters out the pain
Numbing senses till you cease to be
All this in the pursuit of happiness
A self-induced tragedy
No one can ever begin to imagine
It courses through us knowingly,
But we?re not ready
You can?t ever be ready for death
It?s something you don?t prepare for
Love is death and works best with company
Insanity
People willingly do anything because of it
Addicts to something beyond powerful
It makes you crazy
I must be to ever fall in love
Dead and have no feeling
Killed it all away
Death?s sweet embrace
A victim to what no one can understand
Incomprehensible
Everyone killed themselves- we?ve all had OD?d on the love drug
Suicide isn?t a bad way to die
end...
was that too grim or sloppily put together? I need an honest opinion. Thanks.

Love Is Another Name for Suicide (poem)

I'm not afraid of tomorrow,
i'm only scared of myself,
feels like my insides are on fire
and i'm looking through
the eyes of someone else

Yes, it was rather grim. But then, that was the point, was it not?
I liked it, though. It was very honest and open, and sometimes the truth is quite grim. Sometimes, it needs to be said, though. All that matters is the truth! Too much late night X-Files watching! Anyway, I really did like it. Thanks for sharing. And I wish you strength in whatever problems you're dealing with right now. Peace out.

oh my.
I prefer grim pieces of literature, so on the issue of "too grim" I'm not exactly the person to ask. But I loved it. Heartbreaking but put together nicely.

I like how you repeated Temptation. The word itself means something that won't go away, and repeating it maks you feel like you truely are tempted to try it again and again. You know?
This poem reminds me of that one song but Smile Empty Soul its called bottom Of A Bottle, if you've never heard it go look it up, or just read the lyrics. They hit close to home.
It was quite grim, but like said before, sometime people need to truth, and most of the time the truth is pretty grim. Sloppy? No, even if it was sloppy I think that would fit the mood.
Great job, Zero!

*laughs* thanks and yes I have heard of Smile Empty Soul, I pride myself on being an alternative style punk-rock type. And I appreciate the posotive feed back. Seeing as how my angst has been going lately there will most likely be more. Thanks a lot to Einvine and teardropdangel too. You guys are always so nice.

"Sometimes I wish I could go back to being five again, where the most difficult decision I had to make was whether I colored the flower red or blue. Back to when my brothers and I would stay out all day playing cops and robbers or cowboys and Indians. Back to when life was easy and carefree. But that would mean a life when I didn’t know you. I don’t think I’d like that too much."

I loved it. Grim, yes-- but that made it all the more appealing. This poem really got me to thinking... :-?
Good Job
Good Job

There are some who say
an array of horsemen,
and others of marching men,
and others of ships, is
the most beautiful thing on the dark earth.
I say it is whatever one loves.
