Never Said

[Perfect Soldier]

This poem is something I wrote in the wake of a rather harsh break up i've just had. I'm not sure what I think of it yet- tell me what you think, please. thank you.

Never said?

A heart too full of convictions,
Life too full of shit
I can?t fit into any of it
Eyes sting from looking back too hard
Wrist hurts from pushing down so far
Bled the dream,
And have to say-
I am not ashamed to love you this way

I never said-

?I love you,? quite enough
That I was innocent-
My body wasn?t lined with faults
Forgive me, for I am flawed

Don?t like to give away much,
But you know what I am-
Glass
You see everything
I shatter
Tiny pieces put back together

Not so pretty now
A million tiny cuts are a reminder
Can?t help but feel the break
Just remember?

I never said-

My mind is ever sober
Love isn?t destructive
Hurt could just be numbed away
Pain isn?t reversible only replaceable

Don?t say, ?no,? or you ?can?t?
If you?re so cheap to give up on yourself-
How long will it be when I?m too hefty an investment?
What a comp out?
Yet it makes you feel so good inside

You want to die so you can?t feel
Feel my tears?
Feel my love?
Feel what is pain?
Feel what is happiness?
Feel anything in there?

I am sorry?

What I should of said is-

Tears should not be shed
The destination doesn?t matter-
A ride can make a difference
Keep cruising-you?ll find it
Happiness comes in droves of pain
We aren?t meant to understand

I don?t- know why I can?t stop loving you
I can?t- deny this won?t work
I want- you to be happy

You?re here because you choose to be
A heart is a gift-not a curse
Live, love, learn-
It?s all we can ever do

To admit you?re human isn?t so bad

Pain is a process
Life is tragic beauty
A ride that requires a permanent loan-
What feels like a lifetime of payback
But you?ll never get a return

Can I please ride this ride again?

What I want to say is-
