Notes: Inspired by a Draco/Ginny HP fic I read. Set during EW before Duo meets up with Heero.




His long braid tickled my arm. His hands cradled my waist as he brought his eyes down to mine. His eyes are deep violet and for once are open to me. He is letting me see how much I mean to him but I still cannot see the secrets that are deep in his soul. His sadness and anticipation are reflected in mine as well. He says, "I'm sorry that I have to go Hilde."

I put my finger up to his lips, shushing him. I say, "You have to do what is right for all of us on Earth and the colonies." He sighs then he starts to suck on my finger. Anyone who would just glance at him would see just another sixteen year old couple together but I see in him a burden that no one, especially not a sixteen year old should ever have to shoulder. I look down at the floor then I squeak as he lightly bites my finger. Slipping my finger out of his mouth, Duo teasingly smiles at me. "Too bad I don't have enough time to make you scream for me one last time before I leave."

I start to roll my eyes but then I stop when his expression becomes serious again. Then I feel his hands lightly grasp my face, as he leaned into me, bringing his lips to mine. His lips are cool as they touch mine. No matter how many times we kiss, it is always a new sensation for me each time. His tongue darts out to touch mine as I open my lips to let him. I let him take control for now as our tongues dance together. One hand is still grasping my face as the other wraps around my waist to keep my close to him. We just lazily kiss each other before I surprise him by upping the tempo. I delve my tongue into his mouth, tasting the cinnamon candy he just had earlier.

His other hand quickly leaves my face to grab my bottom, bringing me to his level. I can feel the latent strength in him; he wants to devour me yet he wants to savor this. My legs naturally wrap around his waist to keep myself upright as my legs turn to mush. Normally, this would be a prelude to bed but we are just content to be here like this.

With a smack and a groan, Duo pulls away from me. I sigh too; I know that if we had continued, there was a good chance that I would have ended up underneath him in either my bed or his bed. I removed my legs from his waist and slid down his body. Duo rested his chin on top of mine as he whispered, "I can't help but wonder if we will all be able to get together and defeat this Mariemaia Khrushenada."

I say nothing; there is no answer to his question and nothing I can say to reassure him. But there is no need as he moves his chin from my head and looks down at me with a stern look. As he leaves, I can't help but be proud of the man I have and know that everything will be alright.
