Chapter Five: Transitory


?How dare she!?

The Countess of Everington burst through the cream double doors that led to her lounge, sweeping across the room like a woman possessed. Lady Darla was in another one of her moods. Gauging the level of her agitation, her butler, Rupert, promptly shrunk away, employing the same invisibility unique only to servants. Within a lifetime of service to the countess, Rupert had learned to stay out of her way when she was this peeved.

?Who does that whore think she is? Does she honestly believe that she?s fooling anyone?? With angry, jerky motions, Darla ripped off her coat and scarf and threw them heedlessly aside. She slammed opened another pair of doors that led to her bedroom chamber. ?She is obviously nothing but a lightskirt! And she dares to speak of me in disrespect?!!? she fumed, presenting here back to a chambermaid. The servant girl quickly unlaced the dress.

?I can take it from here, you incompetent fool!? she snapped when the girl did not move fast enough. ?Get out!?

The girl fumbled with a hasty curtsy and promptly departed.

?Darling Darla, one would never expect such harsh words to spring forth from such delicate lips,? a low masculine voice commented from the shadows of her canopied bed.

She turned on the shadowed figure lying on her bed. ?Are you still here?? she asked in a frosty, haughty tone.

?It would seem so. You don?t sound to be happy to see me, honey.?

?I am not in the mood for this, Paul.?

?But you are always in the mood, Darla.?

The insinuation in his voice did not help placate her. She stomped over to the bed so that she could finally see him and a faint shiver coursed through her. The Duke of Clemens lay upon her bed, his head of shockingly red hair rested on the silk pillows propped there. He looked exactly what he was: an arrogant aristocrat accustomed to getting his way. All muscle and all male.

He was naked from the waist down.

And that set her dwindling anger aflame once more. ?You can?t just appear here whenever it suits you and expect me to?to??

An amused smirk curved his lips at her sputtering protest. ?Expect you to roll onto your back so that I may fill up with my long, thick??

His words were electrifying. She felt herself become aroused despite her determination not to. ?Don?t! Don?t you dare do that!?

In a complete, sudden shift of moods, he levered up on the bed and inquired, ?Why are you so irritated, dear??

She sniffed indignantly, pleased that her problems were given suitable attention. ?Heero Yuy,? she stated with dramatic flair, that name said as if it should explain all.

Paul?s eyebrows furrowed into a frown. ?I know of him. That name is notorious. I had considered him as a candidate to eliminate my cousin, before I came up with another alternative. He earns his riches by murdering innocent people. Why are you associating with him??

?Now, now, Paul. I wouldn?t go as far as to say that he killed innocent people. Many of the people he killed were far from innocent.?

?It still stands that he killed for a living. He was a professional assassin.? Paul grew concerned. ?The man is certainly one to avoid. Has he threatened you??

?No, no,? she said, with a pout, ?that is not the point at all.? She deliberately paused. ?He has a new mistress.?

Paul stared at his lover. ?And??

?And she insulted me!? she wailed, stomping her feet in a very child-like manner.

?I see,? the duke said in a tone that indicated that he simply didn?t see at all.

?He was my lover three years ago, Paul! I want him back, now.?

Realization dawned. ?I see,? he repeated.

?Would you help me?? she entreated in a sweet, hopeful voice. ?You could share me with him,? she offered.

?I doubt a man like Heero Yuy would share anything.?

?Please,? she begged shamelessly, ?do it for me, Paul.?

Whatever. He could appease her for now. The things he did for cunt. ?Fine.?

She squealed in delight. ?Thank you, thank you. You are the most wonderful man ever.? She hopped onto his lap, wrapped her arms around his neck. ?We must, of course, get rid of his whore.?

?Who is she?? he asked, almost absentmindedly, something else entirely on his mind at the moment.

?He wouldn?t tell me.? The indignation flared again. ?If I didn?t know better, I?d think that Heero wanted to protect her.?

?Really?? he asked mildly. ?Well, darling, if you want me to get rid of her, you must let me attend to my business first.?

Darla watched him rise from the bed, watched him unbutton his shirt, with a glare. ?Are you still trying to find the whereabouts of your errant cousin? You seemed to have misplaced her,? she commented, spitefully.

His eyes narrowed. ?Behave, Darla. As soon as I find her and am certain she is out of the picture, I might just make you a queen.?

Her foul mood immediately lightened. ?Yes, dear. Anything you want,? she gushed, wishing that the death of Princess Relena Peacecraft would hurry along already.

She was teasing him again, rising above him with the morning light playing over her skin. She bent her head to taste his lips, to nip at them tenderly.

Impatient as ever, Heero reversed their positions, thrusting his tongue deeper into her mouth. When he pulled away for air, he encountered amused eyes. ?Does something strike you as funny, Relena??

She nodded. ?You are always in such a hurry.?

?To fuck you?? He found her serene smile precious.

She nodded again. ?Yes.?

?How ironic.? One of his hands slid down and she pushed against him when his fingers tortured her. Three fingers glided in without resistance. ?You are always wet, witch.?

?Only with you.?

He knew without a doubt that her words were true. ?I know.? His thumb brushed against her nipple and he watched in fascination as it tightened at his touch. He had been derelict in paying attention to this part of her. He looked up at her. ?How do you like this??

She made a humming sound and arched her back.

?Is that a yes, angel??

?Yes.?

?How about this?? His lips engulfed the hardened peak and sucked.

?Yes, yes,? she panted.

He smiled. She was so easy to please. He entered her without warning, took her slowly, languidly, until she could take no more. He came in her, with her. Held her in the white wash of pleasure of the winding down aftermath.

Relena?s fingers played in his chestnut hair, a mindless action. Trepidation filled her. She had fallen in love with the assassin Heero Yuy. She didn?t fear him. She knew he wouldn?t harm her. No, on the contrary, she feared for him. If anyone discovered who she was, if anyone discovered what he was to her, her cousin would surely find a way to destroy them both. She had spent too much time here. She knew from experience that remaining in one place to long would surely lessen her chances of escape.

She was eternally grateful that his friends had brought her. If they hadn?t, then she would have never have meant this man. If they hadn?t brought her, she?d probably be dead. They had unknowingly saved her.

Now she had to save herself. Now she had to save Heero.

She watched the man she loved sleep, acutely aware that his hand covered her breast possessively. And mentally made plans to run that night.

Amazeing. Hot semi-wild 1xR sex and a good plot in one fic. Brillant!
Also of note is the fact that Relena is the one running and not Heero. I'll also lay 3:1 odds that Paul has already disposed of Prince Millardo and any other Peacecraft hiers as well. If only they knew that they both now want the same person out of the way. I hope that Heero figures out that particular puzzle before Paul and Darla do.

Something I need to know: What level of technology is this socity at? Somewhere in the past, present, future with no MS? I must know in order to have a better picture of the overall background, and thus a better idea of the setting for these scenes.
