Chapter 1



The setting for this story is Earth, in some big city somewhere. They?re all the same really. Some are peaceful, others are violent, they?re all filled with people trying to make a living by doing what they can. Fighting for survival in their own way, each taking their own risks. Stakes are higher than others, especially in shady circles such as the mafia. That?s where we begin, in some run down hotel on the edge of the city, it was dark, cold, rainy, and there was unfinished business to take care of, and Heero was taking care of it.



In the upstairs room, some guy paces nervously through the living room. He was over weight and in his forties. His name was Big Johny, he was part of the notorious Chinese mafia. The Chinese mafia had become one of the most powerful criminal organizations both on Earth and in the colonies. This tremendous feat was accomplished shortly after an overthrow of its leader several years ago. The mafia had become so powerful, that they were becoming a threat to the highest levels of society. The authorities were helpless to stop them, no one was safe. The Queen herself offered large rewards in an attempt to break the mafia apart, and it worked. Slowly, cracks started forming in the foundation, it progressed to the higher levels. Big Johny was the member of a very exclusive circle witch was in the highest of authority. The Queens attack was shaking the core, and Big Johny was her big success. Big Johny stopped next to his table and picked up a beer. Next to where it was sitting, two shuttle tickets to a colony at L4 along with a suitcase full of money. He took a swig when someone knocked on the door. He grabbed a thirty-eight special and backed up against the wall. Big Johny: ?Is that you Phil?? Phil: ?Ya.? Johny opened the door and said, ?Phil, thank god. Nobody followed ya, right?? Phil: ?No, nobody at all.? There was release of air and Phil froze. His eyes rolled up and his breath went out of him. He fell on the floor, dead. Behind him was Heero standing with silenced gun. Heero: ?You betrayed us, Big Johny.? Johny: ?Heero, what the hell you doing? I?m a member of the Family, you can?t kill me!? Heero: ?You betrayed the Family, you betrayed everything we believed in, you betrayed me.? Johny: ?Come on Heero, We?ve known each other for years, we?re closer than brothers!? Heero: ?Only the Family matters.? Johny: ?Than I?ll kill you first!? Big Johny aimed his gun at Heero and Heero fired. Heero stared at him for a moment, then left, not giving him a second thought.



Heero drove away from the scene, never once showing remorse for what happened earlier. Big Johny was more than a brother to him, he helped raise him, taught everything he knows, but the only thing on his mind was that someone in the highest rank had betrayed the Family. Things were getting ugly.

It is a bit sad, but don't worry. This story has a happy ending. Anyone who craves action and a happy ending will get what they're after.
