Crappy, spur of the moment poem...
Of Love and Hate
I hated her for all the wrong reasons
I hated her for making me feel this way
I hated her for each day she makes me smile
I hated her for giving me the least bit of bliss
I hated her for making me see what could have been
I hated her for moving me to do what I thought could not be
I hated her for inspiring me to do more than what should have been
But I couldn?t hate her; I didn?t have the heart to hate her
But I realized within myself, that it was never her
But it was I all along who myself hated
For everything that she has shown me
For everything that slid into focus
I couldn?t even thank her
Of Love and Hate

Of Love and Hate
A man is not a man until he has accessed his raw untamed energy and takes pleasure to his capacity to fight and defend himself. Only then can he transform his blind rage into power to commit himself, to handle tensions and to make difficult decisions. Inner security also develops. It is based on his realization that whatever goes wrong, he can get help from his inner resources, from the basic energy of his aggression.

That may have been spur of the moment, but it certainly was not crappy. Have a little confidence, Iesu!
The poem was very honest (was it autobiographical?) and very real. I totally identified with that sudden change, the moment of self-awareness where you realize that it's not her that you hate, really- it's you that you hate, so you resent her because everything she does makes you face up to those things in yourself you despise. *raises hand* I do that too! Really, a wonderful poem. Oh, and I really liked that formatting of the poem, too. Very cool.

- I always wanted to be somebody, but I should have been more specific.
