Complete vs. Incomplete

Complete vs. Incomplete

Post by Mellie »

I've noticed that I have never posted a story that I have finished unless it is a one shot (and mine have a habit of not staying that way ><). So I was wondering what the advantages are from people who have been around the fanfic globe (and those that have read ones). Is it better to complete a series before I post a chappie, or is it better to post chapters as you go? Input would be greatly appreciated :D

*head is down in shame* I plead guilty to not posting on a regular basis. For the readers, it's more convenient to expect the author will update on a somewhat regular basis [whether it's every two weeks or every Sunday, etc.] before there are ideas that the story has been abandoned or put on hiatus. But Mellie, when you said to 'post chapters as you go' what exactly do you mean?

Besides one-shots, my preferred way to go is to have the majority of the story already done before posting. Then again, I'm my own hypocrite.

Anybody else care to input and help us procrastinators?

I mean as I write, I post...I know that is bad...but...I never learned good posting ettiquite....errr... I write a chapter, I post it. I usually don't have a majority done or anything...so...

I have one more chapter to "Sea of Stars" and it's KILLING ME! THe funny thing is that I could have written the ending 6 months ago!

As a reader, I like finished stories. But that doesn't stop me from reading!
