The Star Herd’s Ride

BY Egg Drop Soup

They jump, run as the wind. Run and leap an endless race. Dear, monster, beast, jump for those without hope, for those without purpose. To denounce the ride is like to break the heart of every child.

Longing to see the star lit, sky filled with the herd of Artemis’s horses that prow forward and back, running like the tortured wind.

The echo is only heard in the heart, is your mournful cry of bitterness.
Toward, you still run at night, when the time is done you will be free from this terrible torture. Suffer not in this pleasures race, but rejoice to the happiness in the after night.

Your silvery, vibrant coats match the moons beauty. The night bleached in darkness, the color the moon longs to see. The ocean cries in waves, for the horses to run again.

This mountainous herd rides on now, pawing, leaping, jumping, grateful in all things. The leader of the herd bellows loudly charging now, they cross the ocean’s waters. While lovers watch, the horses stride in varies of forms of the fabulous constellations.

They are few of many this herd of crystal moon lit horses. They slowly form the lion, while other horses from other herds form the other constellations. But none compare to the lion.

King of all constellations.

The leader proud of his strong herd, neighs and snorts victory. The moon smiles and laughs to herself hearing the cries of the leader's dominance.

Lovers stare at these forms, works of art painted in the sky.

Oh, How foolish, the moon cries and continues to laugh. Not works of art, but just the purpose of the herds are these stars created. Let them think, as they will, guessing what is the truth and imagining anything other.
