He had seen them all. They came in packs sometimes, but most came by themselves. He couldn?t actually complain about them, they kept him in business, but just because his life depended on the downfall of theirs, didn?t mean he didn?t wish he could help in someway. The saddest one, and probably his most important customer was off to his left though. Behind the counter the bartender moved down, and looked at the brown-haired man leaning over 23 shot glasses, drops of Wild Turkey lingering at the bottle of one of the glasses.

?Another shot.? the man?s evident scowl could be heard through the words he spoke.

Normally the bartender would have stopped someone at 6 or 8 at the most, but this individual just couldn?t seem to get drunk until at least 30 shots from the 5 oz. glasses had been done.

?Right, so do you still not want to talk about whatever?s bothering you?? the Bartender said.

He was brushed off though, as the man knocked back three shots consecutively. The shot glasses hitting the bar top. It seemed to be enough for the night.

Heero?s walk was steady as he went down the street. The determination to never drive while he was under the influence of alcohol, would change his life tonight. Walking the streets of his colony, he made his way towards his apartment.

He needed the drinks, or at least he felt he did. His life had no meaning, his current job as chief designer for computer software caused him no end of strife and boredom. He was tired of computers, tired of the boredom, and dull drum beat of life.

His constant berating of himself was interrupted as his sensitive ears picked up the sound of shallow breathing. Coming from the alley to his left, he could see a small hand sticky out from the trash. The kindness that Dr. J had spoked of years before came out, and he moved towards the small figure among the rotting blackened bags. Unconsciously he picked up the little girl, and headed back to his apartment.

The shallow breathing child, turned out to be a near dead orphan. Heero did the best he could to bring the girl back to consciousness, and managed to succeed.

?Where am I?? was the first question out of her slightly blue lips. The winter simulated cold on the colony, seemed to effect the girl drastically. Her eyes, a very bright green, were full of emotion, and her tiny head, was covered in long blond hair, that had dirt streaks a testament to how long she?d been on the street.

Heero stared at her for a second. He had seen eyes similar to her?s before. A different color but the emotion was all the same. Innocence. Relena. He threw the name out of his head. He didn?t need to think about her, as well as his other problems right now. The girl was sick. Probably only 4 years old, and she wanted an answer.

?Your.... Your ok, I found you, your with me at my home.? more silence passed. ?What?s your name.?

?I?m Julia. My mommy died, and the orphan home kicked me out, because they couldn?t take anymore children.? Her voice was a whisper and deftly soft.

?I will take care of you.? The word?s left Heero?s mouth without his realization. The girl smiled a warm smiled that reminded Heero of Relena again. He ignored her face appearing in his memories again, and approached the girl, extending his hand to offer her a handshake.

Julia had other ideas however and decided that a hug was more appropriate. Heero, was petrified at the moment, his soldier instincts wanted to take over, but his new discovered bits of humanity recognized this as a hug. He had only gotten one of those before from Relena, and that was when he had passed out in her arms.

?Memories that should stay buried for now.? he thought. He pulled away, and sat the girl up on his bed.

?Are you hungry or do yo need anything?? Heero questioned.

She nodded her head, and rubbed her stomach.

Heero turned around and left towards the kitchen, preparing to fix her meal.
