Shattered (poem) sequel to Last Time

Relena was in her office early the next morning. The sun had yet arose from her bed, and Relena basked in the quiet. She didn't bother to turn on the light. She wasn't prepared for whatever he had left. He was gone, she was sure of it.
I never meant to hurt you, Heero, but I did, didn't I?
Relena sighed and set her briefcase next to her desk. The day ahead promised to be hectic with three meetings and a mound of paperwork. Peace keeping was not a peaceful job. Against her will, she turned on the light. Everything was the same. Except for that piece of paper.
Carefully, she picked the paper up. She read it thoroughly. How could you, Heero?

Good bye!
Don't you understand?
I said good bye!

I'll push away
-if you make me
I can't stay,
Tomorrow is good bye

My heart?
Gone with you.
Even though it was me-
Me who walked.

Relena? Can you hear me?
I'm sorry.
Don't leave
I say to the silence.

It is too late.
Now I'm shattered-
I've been shattered.

Can I live?
Without you?
I'll try. I have too.

And I left.
I didn't want to.
But staying?
Would only delay the inevitable.

The first time
I came to you.
You were in love
But not with me.

Can you forgive
My terrible actions?
At least let me know
You felt it.
