!!Update Status!!

Okay, I have unlocked all forums, except the ability to post NEW topics in the Featured Author and Heero x Relena fanfiction showcase.

I *may* be able to fully re-enable them by this afternoon. All other forums should be unlocked.

I ask that you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! If your post/reply is taking a while to process, don't stop it, don't resubmit it, just be patient!

I think what happened is that at some point, again, there was an issue with the webhost, and one thing got out of synch with the database, and it just kept wreaking further havoc until I went through manually and removed extraneous posts and mapped ones that weren't showing up.

I think everything's re-synched, but it was the Featured Author forum and the Heero x Relena Fanfiction Showcase that was out of whack. So, I want to be cautious. The webhosting company claims that the error with the mail server has been fixed, but I tested it and it's still not working.

Thank you for your patience. The only thing that isn't enabled right now is the ability to post new topics in the Heero x Relena forums. You can still read, you can still reply; you can post new topics in all the other forums.

Seriously in need of sleepy time.

Okay, it's been unlocked.

The reply notifications even seem to be working.

I'm still trying to coerce forum watch notifications, but I'm trying to take this a step at a time....

IT WORKS!

All the forum notification-y things should be up and running as well.

I still ask that in times when you're posting, if the server is slow to respond, just PLEASE be patient and let it finish. If it comes back with an error, notify me immediately. If it goes to a "cannot retrieve" page (white, lots o' writing, looks nothing like the website), please go back and check to be sure the post didn't go thru. Sometimes, it does, but YOUR ISP server doesn't wait long enough (when MY HOST server is being slow). This will cut down on extra posts.

I don't mind extra posts, I know they happen sometimes. But the problem is when you don't let them finish, and the thing is being slow - the database that stores all the posts and messages and everything else gets out of synch. Which is very VERY bad. And VERY time consuming to fix.

I got a little last night. Took a nap when I got home, for two hours, ate dinner, worked out, showered then stayed up until 4:30a working on my Romantic Suspense entry to an 'original fiction' contest. I'm soooo behind on it, and I absolutely HAVE to mail it out today. *sigh* Got up at 5:45a, was at work by 7a. But I'm sooooo out of here by like 3:30p.

Ehhhhhhhhh....At one point, I seriously felt like I was bailing out an ocean with a teaspoon. That's why I had to lock the forums. *sigh* It *was* messy, but luckily, the structure of the db, I already had knowledge of, so I....am completely boring you all. Sorry. The trick was, there were posts that would show up if I would click on your profile (or someone's), and search for all posts by this user. BUT, they weren't showing up anywhere else. It was just bizarre. *kicks mail server*

and you fixed it so quickly!

Eh, and yet I felt like crap for the whole like 2-3 days it was malfunctioning. Just tense and stressed and wanting to kick in the webhost's teeth for not responding to my support ticket. It SEEMED on this end, like it took forever. Geh. Sorry about that, guys.
