This one is about my (new) friend Ric.


The Mystery Man

The mystery man
The hidden man
Lurking beneath the shadows

The hopeless man
The beloved man
Crawling away on the floor

The broken man
The lost man
Looking for something more

Opens his gate
every day;
Just to find faded shadows

The mystery man
The hidden man
Walking all alone

The hopeless man
The beloved man
Dying before he reaches the door

The broken man
The lost man
Just fold a note in the gates

He jumps around
And slaps his hands
Singing hallelujah!

Hmmm, that was interesting . I like that the ending is different from the rest of the poem. It was unexpected, I had to re-read that last bit.
