Never Alone (P1 of 3, 1/9

Trying out a fic... Actually, its been out some time now but I couldn't find any good places to put it... it was burried under hundreds of other fics in 'fanfiction.com' :( ... well, hope you all like it... Lemon in part two... after nine chapters...

Chapter one- After the War?
It has been only two years since the girl from the mystic moon left, and it has made the fallen king unsure. Only a year before when the news was heard, a maniacal warlord has gathered the whole Zaibach Empire under his banner and has declared war upon all the kingdoms of Gaea. Only been ten months when three other kingdoms have been forced to move under this new threat?s banner. Eight months ago when the visions returned to the girl from the mystic moon, just between her lunch. Seven months when half of Gaea have been taken under Zaibach. It has taken only two months soon after when almost the entire other half has surrendered to the great empire. At the same time a feline woman, an airship, and a crew with a famous swordsman fell, destroying the airship and taking their lives. Three months ago, the fallen king stood alone, a hand full of peasants by his side, defending the remains of a small farming community. Two months ago when only one rebellion stood against the empire. Four weeks when the fallen king started to descend into madness, the small village he tried to defend burned to the ground, all hopes and the past destroyed, the only thing that keeps him alive is a small pendant, a red jewel upon it. Two weeks when the famous swordsman went out of hiding, only half of his crew remaining, reuniting with the fallen king. One week when they joined this so called rebellion and increased in ranks, the famous swordsman becoming the tactical advisor, the fallen king, a field captain. Three days of continuous fighting, driving the fallen king deeper into madness. One day when the only thing that makes the fallen king keep on fighting was a whispered promise, the girl from the mystic moon?s voice echoing at his ear, ?I will return??
The fallen king stood on top of the hill, the banner of the wolf, his own symbol for his legion, fluttering through the air, the flag held on his back by his armor. He looked upon the open field, the small legion, maybe a hundred, two hundred men at most stood behind him, pitiful against the black armored men approaching, ten abreast and a hundred fold.
Some men behind him quivered, others who were at war a bit longer stood still, their faces grim, their eyes burning. If they were lucky, it will all be over with one stroke, they would be reaching the place above the stars. If not, they will be tortured and interrogated until their dying breath. The fallen king raised his blade as twenty men formed a straight line, raising their bows, the iron on the arrows glinting upon the setting sun.
He turned the blade, the men behind him pulling the strings of their bows, readying to fire as the black armored men approached.
Then silence, the army has stopped marching, waiting for the first move. The fallen king shook his head, slashing the sword upon air, the twang of the bow string being heard through the field, taking a few of the black armored army, but not enough.
He shouted to the air as half of the army moved in front of him, kneeling down and raising their spears, waiting for a charge. The black armored army did charge, screaming their battle cry, throwing themselves upon the raised spears, most of them impaled while others still moved forward.
The fallen king raised his blade into the air once more, all those left behind him unsheathing blades, knives, axes and staves. With one swift motion, he leapt towards the fray, a single word echoing through the field? Charge!
The fallen king?s legion charged against the wave, their brown, black and red armor clashing with the darkness of the opposing army, their steels crashing, the fight seeming like it would never end.
The sun has descended and the skies darkened slowly, the stars couldn?t even pierce the black clouds as the rains started to fall. The black armored army has only been halved, but the opposing legion had stepped back, staring in awe as they continued to look upon their captain, fighting alone. It wasn?t that they wanted to fall back, they had to, but he still remained. The fallen king?s eyes burned with white hot fire, his wings stained red as he continued to slaughter any who would dare charge towards him. The small army remaining behind him squared their shoulders, charging once more into the fray.
The sun started to move up the mountains, the black armored army almost decimated, yet only a handful of the legion remained, panting heavily. Their captain stood once more above the hill as he looked upon the retreating army.
?Should we give chase?? An elder man moved behind him.
The fallen king shook his head, whispering softly, ?I will not slaughter defeated men??
It was over, at least it seemed over. The men started to carry the corpses, friend and foe alike and started to pile them up, others started to dig holes and ditches, some to burry the dead, others to sleep into as they waited for further orders.
As the final corpse lay under the ground, the last mound of dirt covered, an unsettling sound moved through the field, another marching army of black armored men approached, though this seemed different. The fallen king turned around in all directions, staring blankly as the others started to whisper.
Four armies approached the handful of men, each wearing the same black armor as the first wave, each in every direction, making escape almost impossible.
?They didn?t even give us time to sleep?? The fallen king whispered as the rest of the legion raised their blades and screamed to the sky.
The fallen king raised his sword as well, whispering audibly, ?It does not matter? They will still die this day.?
A man is not a man until he has accessed his raw untamed energy and takes pleasure to his capacity to fight and defend himself. Only then can he transform his blind rage into power to commit himself, to handle tensions and to make difficult decisions. Inner security also develops. It is based on his realization that whatever goes wrong, he can get help from his inner resources, from the basic energy of his aggression.

Ooh...buried at fanfiction.com, you say? Must be if I haven't read it yet! This is looking to be a good action-packed fic, you WILL post more here, ne? Although I'm sorry to say that esca comments are kinda slim-pickings here. Not many people leave replies, to my knowledge. But I promise that I do! This forum's been pretty lonely lately, do add something to it!

Van is kicking some serious butt. This story looks to be very interesting. I'll be on the watch for the next part!

Almost forgot... Happy New Year!
Do not measure life by the number of breaths you take but rather by the moments that take your breath away.

Some things belong on paper, others in life. It's a blessed fool who can't tell the difference. - Madeleine "Quills"
