As a new author on this site, I'd thought I'd submit one of the fics my sister and I wrote, and see what response I get.

Argument 1/5
The argument started the same way it always did.
"What do ya need to go home for?!" Inuyasha griped, folding his arms. "You went back two days ago!" The hanyou stood directly in front of the well, blocking Kagome's path. The girl frowned.
"I have tests! If I don't study, I'll fail! I'll never get into high school!"
"Who cares?"
"This is my future, Inuyasha! I can't just blow it all off. I need to study so I can pass!"
Inuyasha snorted. "So you think these ‘tests' are more important then the shards?"
Kagome's eyes narrowed. "At the moment."
"Well, I don't care! We need to collect all the shards and kill Naraku! Once we finish that, then you can go back to studying. I'll even let you can study as much as you want." Inuyasha looked very pleased with his ultimatum. Kagome, however, was not.
"Inuyasha, I can't! Do you understand that? My entire life is depending on what happens with these tests that I have to take NOW! If I don't get into high school-" she stopped.
"What?"
"My life will be over!" she finished. Maybe that would shake him up a little.
Inuyasha's brow furrowed as he thought. "Your entire life depends on these tests?"
"Yes!" Kagome said, glad he finally got it.
"That's stupid."
"What?" Her voice was very quiet. And deadly.
"It's stupid. Basing everything that happens to you on some ‘test.' You shouldn't depend on just one outcome of one situation. It's weak."
"Weak?"
"Yes." Inuyasha said, not noticing the warning signs. "Even the smallest youkai know you can't just develop one talent. You have to be good at lots of different things. It doesn't matter how fast you are, you have to stop sometime and if you can't fight..." Inuyasha warmed to his topic, totally oblivious to Kagome's narrowing eyes. "It's like...like ‘putting all your eggs in one basket' as the babaa would say. You shouldn't be bound to any one thing like that. Focusing on only one part of your life, those tests, to tell you who you're going to be for the rest of your life is really weak. "
"So…you're saying I'm stupid and weak?" Kagome said.
He thought for a moment. "If you act like that, then yes." The hanyou shrugged. "I guess it's a good thing that your world is safer, ‘cause weak humans like you would never survive their first year." The last comment was specifically aimed at the miko. She had gotten slightly hurt in a battle a few days ago, and was still moving stiffly. "A youkai would never have gotten hurt like that."
"Osuwari!"
Inuyasha hit the ground with a thunk. "What was that for?!" he snapped, lifting his face from the imprint it had made in the hard ground.
"I am not weak!" Kagome yelled.
"You're human! Of course you're weak!" he yelled back, struggling to sit up.
That sentence set the girl off and she practically spat out her next words. "Well, look at you! I may be chained to my schoolwork, but you are chained to a dead miko and this stupid jewel! You refuse to live without the Shikon no Tama, but instead follow the pieces all over feudal Japan! Not only that, you need me to help you find it! You depend on me! If I'm weak, what does that make you?!"
Suddenly the hanyou was in her face. He looked as livid as she had ever seen him. "I am NOT weak!!" he roared. Kagome stumbled backward, shocked. He had never lost his temper like that with her before. Never.
He stood abruptly. All the anger disappeared from his eyes, washed out by cold indifference. "Go study." he said tonelessly. As he turned away, Kagome realized what she had said, and brought her hand up to her face.
"Ohh…Inuyasha, I didn't-"
"Go. Study."
With that, he disappeared into the trees. Kagome stared after him, hands to her cheeks as tears rolled down her face. She had this awful feeling. Like what she had done had more serious repercussions than she knew.
"Inuyasha…"

Do it by the book, but be the author.

Humm. Never really seen Kagome make Inuyasha more mad then he makes her before. This could really get interesting.

"We seem dead set on turning ourselves into little monsters, don't we? Wonder why that is? It's all the rage all of a sudden. And all of us, is sooo busy running around, trying to beat each other to the finish line that no one notices the big sign from God that says : Stop-Messing-with-my-Stuff."
