I think she's just trying to make her self useful, so she travels around trying to help people and stop Naraku. Maybe its guilt about having to steal souls to survive.

I think she and Inu have lingering feelings for each other (which is actually kind of romantic) After all you never forget or really get over that first love.

Doesn’t that creep him out just a little? I mean, the only reason why she's alive at all, is because she has a part of Kagome's soul!! Let the dead rest and move on to the future.

Uh... actually that could work both ways, Kagome is herself because she has Kikyo's soul first and foremost.

I love Kikyo (and Kagome as well, to a lesser degree. She's far too typical leading female character to capture my interest), such a tragic story. I found her sad love story with Inu Yasha far more complex and rich than anything else in the show.

Yeah, she tried to drag IY to Hell -once-, but keep in mind that was when she was first resurrected! And she believed IY betrayed her and killed her! Now girls be honest what would you do in her place?. She has all the right to be ANGRY, she believed that her lover MURDERED her. I doubt Kagome will react different in her place (she freaks out with IY for little and small details after all).

Later she learnt the truth and never tried to do that again.

And the whole 'interfering' between Kagome and him? Can you blame her? She loves him as well! And he does have feelings for her still! If the boy/girl you like is probably torn between you and another boy/girl would you just give up? I think not. Maybe Kagome is the one interfering as well? What hope of relationship can someone of 400 years in future have with someone of the past? Thought so. Their love story will most certainly end in a tragic separation (which is one thing that attracts me to InuxKagome).

And Kikyo evil? Bleh. She likes children and cures sick people even if she's a walking corpse leading to an end. OOOOOH really teh eeeeeeevil!!!!1!one!!1 [/sarcasm]

I enjoy both KagomexInu-Yasha and KikyoxInuyasha pairing and there's also the possibility that Inu wishes to the Shikon Jewel to bring Kikyo back again (maybe not out of TWU WUV (*gag*) but out of love for someone who was important to him).

Bashing characters is just plain stupid.

I'm sort on the fence about my feelings for Kikyo. Most of the time I despise her evilness and cruel behavior to Kagome and tormenting Inuyasha, but then I also pity her. Hell, I'd be kind of pissy too if I thought I was murdered by the man I love and then was forcibly brought back to 'life' with no purpose except to be a cause trouble. She's a bitch...but a pitiful too.

I think Kikyou is a fabulous character. She's awesome in so many ways. Evil is one of her great qualities. I don't think she belongs with Inuyasha any longer, but I love her all the same.
She's one of those characters who you don't want to win-but you don't want to lose either. Kikyou possesses all the qualities Kagome lacks, i.e. Beauty, grace, elegance etc. But Kagome possess the qualities the shibito miko lacks, i.e. Feelings, purity, way more power. They're perfect polar opposites and without Kik's where would the angst be?

To be honest, I also find her a teriffic addition to the story and even when she fell off that cliff after her encounter with Naraku I knew it was too good to be true. Takahashi had to bring her back to keep that tension going.

Kikyo, however is a soul sucking revenant (vengeful ghost) and I, for one also find her to be quite extraordinarily catty and manipulative. My suggestion? Use an atomic bomb. Cliffs, poison and acid baths have all failed. I don't think she is capable of seeing the error of hef ways anytime soon.
