[Nights Red Rose]

...........Feverish dreams of Middi Une....................
Harsh nightmares, her family dying by her father's hand. She being thrown backwards, screaming their names, hoping that would bring them back. Suddenly she was falling away from that, her heart pounded in her ears, it was mind-numbing, the pain. She had been in pain her whole life, it shouldn't feel bad by now, she should be used to it!

that didn't help her right now. Midii struggled to escape it's hold to no avail.
"God just kill me!" she cried looking up "Please, just let it end, let the pain stop!"
"Midii, can you hear me? It-" the voice sounded reluctant, confused about something "It's Nanashi"
"Nanashi?" Midii closed her eyes, she didn't want to hear from Nanashi, it opened old wounds, it brought back memories she didn't want, guilt she didn't want.
"Please, don't die" the voice pleaded "Your a fighter, I know your a fighter" there was silence.
"Please go on--" Midi was about to say
"I-I've change Midii, I'm not Nanashi anymore, I've got a name now, it's Trowa"
"Trowa" Midii exhoed and smiled, it seemed to suit her memory of him.
"and a family to go to....I was happy, I was. But seeing you again--Midii I don't remember why I brought you back to the base but I remember what you did to it"
"THAT he remembers" Midii muttered
"I met your friend outside, Natalie Carevire's here. She told me what the cross ment, what it was. I fought in the war, I understand why you did what you did--you've probably moved on but know I don't hold it against you. After I left you, I went back. Not that it means anything but I did go back to find you--all I saw was the cross. Right now it's hanging around my neck and has been since the day I found it--bullet hole and all" Midii felt so tired "Please Midii, I've never begged before but I'm begging you now: don't die, come back to this world, come back to me"
Midii closed her eyes, feeling darkness press on her senses
"Midii!" she opened her eyes
"I-I-Nanashi.....Trowa!" Midii screamed, praying it would force the blackness back "Trowa!"

.......................Room 313..............
The monitors were going haywire, they were going to lose her.
"MIdii!" Trowa yelled in a last-ditch effort to save her
"Nanahsi" Midii groaned, she whispered something so faint he almost missed it "Trowa" his eyes widened "Trowa" she grimaced but said his name louder. His fingers found hers on the bedspread, the limp hand clenched onto his but he didn't mind, he just held her hand and remembered what they had said in the amature med classes he took.
"Just breath, steady slow breath, in and out" in her half-concious state Midii complied. "Come on, you can do this Midii, you can fight it" Soon the heart monitor resumed a steady beat. Trowa breathed a sigh of relief, she was alright for now. He shook his head at Sally and the five doctors who had run at the sound of the beep.
"T-trowa?" a weak voice asked. Trowa's forest green eyes locked with her pale blue-grey ones. He nodded
"How do you feel?" he asked the first thing that came to mind, she gave a slight smile
"Been better"
"Trowa!" Sally yelled from the doorway "Don't let her go to sleep! Comatoses!" Trowa sighed and looked at Midii who's eyes were closed
"Midii" Trowa shook her "Midii, don't go to sleep on me"
"Why not? Then i'll be with my brothers"
"Tell me about your brothers" he said "Just don't stop talking, tell me anything--just don't go again"
"Again? If my memory serves correctly Trowa, it was you who left the first time"
"And it was my biggest mistake" Trowa whispered
"Not all mistakes can be corrected" Midii whispered, her eyes filling
"But some can" Trowa argued
"There you go, countering everything I say"
"It's a bad habit" he said smiling slightly. She touched his face
"That's the first time I've seen you smile" she said, Trowa held her hand to his face, reveling at how soft it seemed.
"Okay Trowa, you can come back in a minuet, I've got to check my patient" Sally said coming in. He nodded and let her hand drop back to the bedspread
"Trowa" Midii called when he was by the door "Don't go far" he smiled slightly and nodded, making a silent promise to never go far from her again.

okay, i've been getting some emails (from here and when i posted the story on fanfiction.net).........people are confused. In light of that, here's a little recap of what's going on, character by character:

TROWA:
He's been re-united with Midii Une, though he doesn't remember everything he remembers the spy thing and he forgives her for betraying them. He also found out that the cross had a transmitter that showed the Alliance that the wearer was an agent and shouldn't be killed.

MIDII UNE:
WOrking as a decoy for Verona Isirelle, head of L1 she got into a plane crash. Trowa rescued her but she almost died, only the memory of 'nanashi'who she now knows is 'trowa' made her come back to the living world.

HEERO YUY:
Cracking jokes and begging Relena? What happened there? Well i'll go into that soon, but for now he's Relena's bodyguard and they ARE on speaking terms. Heero also works for the Aerial Preventers which Trowa helps out by piloting.

RELENA DARLIAN PEACECRAFT:
After restoring her brother to a real human, Relena remained in politics working with the now deceased head of L2. THe death hit her hard, but Millardo was there to see her through and Heero saved her from an assassin.

MILLARDO 'ZECHS MARQUISE'/'PREVENTER WIND' PEACECRAFT:
Head of Mars, Millardo has started over and isn't trying to kill Yuy. He is, however, being killed by his emotions. His former best friend (rival? something or other) Lucrezia Nion has been assigned as HIS bodyguard by the ever-meddling Lady Une. The problem? She wants him away from her, far away.

LUCREZIA NION:
Relcutant guard to Millardo Peacecraft, Lucrezia feels Zechs Marquise, whom she loved, is dead and this Millardo is a stranger...even though she treats him like a murderer. Can Millardo open Lucrezia's eyes? Can they start their friendship (or something more) again?

SALLY PO:
After saving Midii's life, she hears her call out for Nanashi and puts two and two together after being cornerd in the hallway by a desparate Trowa.

DUO MAXWELL:
say hello to the new head of L2. Say hello to the dying new head of L2. Duo had been posined, directly after accepting the position. Who's got him cornered in her office to observe the symptoms? Dr. Hilde who he hasn't seen in years but has never stopped loving.

DR. HILDE (i am NOT spelling her last name!):
Working in the mourge at L4, she treats Duo and discovers a pattern in the posining that's been going on: it's all the colony leaders. Why is this happening? Hilde has no clue, she's more concerned about finding the anticdote and saving Duo.

NATALIE CAREVIRE:
Agent with Preventer's Intelegence, they pay her to go into the mind of a serial killer and profile them. She is the colony leader's estrained daughter and doesn't care that her mother's dead. Midii is close to her and she's determined to see her happy, even if it is with the despicable Nanashi who made her cry so many times

VIVIAN ISARELLE:
Older sister to Midii's employer and forgien minister of L1, Vivian doesn't want anything happening to her famiy.

Heero opened the door and offered his hand to Relena. She took it and walked out of the car. The great Heero Yuy overshadowing Relena's every move was obviously neither descrete or useful in catching the culprits incase they tried to take over Relena. The solution? Look at the tabloids:
GENERAL HEERO YUY, AERIAL PREVENTERS IS ROMANITCALLY LINKED TO FORGIEN MINISTER RELENA PEACECRAFT.

It was Une's idea, not either of theirs. There had been cursing, yelling and submission. Ground rules had been laid down forcefully by millardo:
"ALright Yuy, sit" Heero sat "Now listen very carefully. I am not in favor of you masquerading as my sisters--lover--but Une can be rather forceful. So listen carefully, public apperances only. No kissing, minum handholding and when you two are in private: separate rooms or at the very least, separate beds. Until you stop the masquerade, agreed?"
"Agreed"

...........Preventers Mourge, L4.................
"Not again!"
"Open your mouth and do it!" Hilde advanced towards Duo with a thermometer
"Hilde it's been a day and my temperature has risen what? 1/2 a degree? This is---AhH!" Hilde jumped foward and pushed the thermometer under his tounge and closed his jaw
"Don't make me get the medical tape Duo!" he winced and sat still. The thermometer beeped and hilde looked at it. "Thought so, 100.2 Mister! Lie down, your getting a fever"
"It's only from being in this cramped room for hours" he complained
"Shut up I don'want anyone else getting this. W hat if it's contagious?"
"Then you'll get it" he said. She nodded and pushed him back down
"But--"
"It's too late now" she said "If it's contagious then i'll have already contracted it" they were quiet for a moment "Or maybe you're the only one who has it and i'll be stuck taking care of your sick butt"
