It's settled down from its original craziness, I can assure you of that. But it can get crazy in there. That's why I'm in charge of keeping it at a reasonable level.

but i <i>do</i> need to know about bartering.

i need to acquire things, but i don't have the money for it. so my only option is bartering with my friend- there lies my need for tips.

Okay, here's a serious question. Randomly the other day some girl IMed me because she had found out my IM name on ff.net. I talked to her because I'm nice like that, even though I'm 21 and she's 13. She seemed nice enough and I had nothing better to do. I have a 13 year old sister so it wasn't such a big deal to talk to the kid.

So that part isn't that strange I guess, but the day after that she talked to me again and started telling me all these freaky things about herself, like about how she had done things that people twice her age hadn't done. When I asked her what she meant, she told me all these horrifying stories about how she had tried every kind of alcohol and gave sexual favors to 18-year-old guys for pot. Needless to say I was totally shocked and appalled.

I tried to talk to her about it at the time and explained that she was literally prostituting herself, but she was telling me these things in pride. It was freaky! I worry for kids like this especially because I have 3 little sisters and I would die on the spot if I found out anything like that about them, although I have never had the impression that they would do that!

My question is should I try to talk to this girl about it and mentor her? I don't even know her at all. I still have no idea why she told me those things or if it was just a lie to seem "cool" to someone so much older than herself. And she was totally proud of herself for it, which shows me that she might not accept help. What do you think Heero, or anyone for that matter? This has been bugging me for a couple days now. :-?

OMG... That is extremely disturbing... If my sisters did that... I would never forgive myself. Ever. I wish I had advice to give, but right now, nothing comes to mind. Sorry!
