The Pain Within part 4
She had been sitting in her cell for 2 days non stop now. Why hadden't she been taken for treatment yet?
She had heard others go, and usually they didn't come back.
Gaia had been taken twice already, then why not her?
It wasn't that she wanted the treatment, the silence and loneliness whas starting to bother her, just like she started to hate the absence of light.
She leaned back against the wall and sighed deaply.
"Don't worry, it won't be long." Whas Gaia's reply to Relena's unsaid words.
"I don't think I can take this much longer." Relena sighed back.
Gaia shrugged but didn't reply for another few minutes.
Relena and Gaia had become good friends over the past 2 days, they had talked about their past, well, mostely hers, the things that weren't known al over earth and space. Gaia hadn't talked much, she just listened. But that didn't matter, it whas something she got used to ever since Heero decided to be her fulltime bodyguard.
"You know you should be happy that you're not being treated for a while. It might give you the time to recover and relax before they continue."
"Yeah, you're probably right, I shouldn't be complaining."
She bit her bottom lip for a few seconds. She whas most definately bored.
Then an idea popped in her head, she had been training Martial Arts with Wufei, now might be a good time to practice.
She jumped up from her bed and started to even her breathing. She concentrated at the task at hand and then moved with perfect balans, unfortunately her grace had much to wish for. She started out slow, trying to perfect her movements.
After a few hours practicing her moves, she turned up the pace until her body whas flowing with perfect speed into perfect gracefull movements.
She whas amazed at how fast she picked things up. She had perfected her movements in 3 hours. She shrugged and sat down again.
She took a deap breath and then noted she wasn't tired............at all.
Now this unerved her, she never had much energy. She would have to sit down after she climed the stairs to her room.
Thaughst of possible causes of this sudden surge of energy raced to her mind, but only one seemed to be possible. But how do these treatments change something like that. She had to ask, Gaia always had answers.
She closed her eyes, one thing she had learned from Gaia whas that words were not needed to get het attention.
"Yes?" She replied as expected.
"How come I'm not tired? I've trained Martial Arts for over 3 hours, but I'm not even breathing heavely."
"Hn." Relena took that as a sign that Gaia whas thinking hard.
"The most logical thing would be the treatments."
Relena looked down, she had hoped for another answer.
She didn't ask why or how these treatments could do such a thing, when Gaia said it did, then they did. No questions needed to explain, Gaia would tell, if she had to know.
The sudden wave of light that entered her cell had blinded her vision. The door had opened and a siluet of a man had entered. "Sorry we have been neglecting you." said a voice sarcasticly.
This time Relena noted she whas not a tad bit frightened.
She stood up from where she had sat and walked towards the still blinding light. A strong hand grasped her arm and tugged her through the light hallways toward what whas the laboratory. The smell of death invaded her sences and alarm bells surged through her system.
"So pretty Princess, we meet once more." The doctors voice whas easely to recognize. A surge of angre took over, and her breathing became inregular.
"Wow, you definately got some spunk while you were away now didn't you." He said to playfull in her mind.
She decided that angre whas not a way to deal with this in a political way, so she straightened her back and opened her eyes slowly.
The bright light started to fade and she noted that she whas not in the laboratory. "Welcome, to the room of secrets." The doctor said raising his arms to dramatisice the moment.
There weas actually nothing in the room, it whas purely white, nothing in it only walls, her and the doctor. She took in her surroundings and then focused her vision on the doctor.
"Not much in here is there? O, but not be fooled, this is a very powerfull room. And it will make you powerfull as well." He waited a moment, maybe he wanted Relena to reply.
Unfortunately for him, she did not say a word. He lowered his eyes and continued. "You will stay here for a few days, to train." Relena's eyes widened for a second but then resumed their gaze at the doctor. And he actually gulped, she had definately had leasons from Heero.
"You will get food only once a day, the only thing you have to do is survive. Good luck and till the next time we meet." He saluted her and left the room through a door.
Finally she let her body relax, this man got on her nerves BADLY.
She sat down and started to concentrate on the walls, they seemed to get closer to her by the second. She closed her eyes so the darkness that usually surrounded her southed her troubeling mind.
A few minutes later the room started to shake, and shook Relena out of her peacefull dreamworld. A rumbbleing noice came from outside the room. Then the floor of the room went completely black and so did the walls. Somehow the color didn't scare Relena as bad as the white did. Then the room once more changed color, and again and again. until a mixture of colors filled the room and started to dance on the walls, floor and ceiling.
Then they stopped and slowely took shape.
Objects started to rise from the floor, and also took in some colors.
Suddenly everything sped up and the strange objects and colors changed into something she recognised.
A forest, no, not just a forest. A rainforest. The sound of birds and frogs filled her ears. She touched the tree that had imurged from the fllor a few seconds ago. She felt it, the roughness of the bark and the mousty feeling of the leaves.
It whas real, this whas al real. But how?
She took the time to try and find the walls. But the forest did not stop. She found a swamp, now that's interesting. She inhaled the scent of the forest. It was humid, so not really plesant to inhale deaply.
She decided to make camp to spend the night, after all she had to spend a few days there just like the doctor had told.
A few branches and big leaves did a great job. After collecting her equipment she stared around her to find a good place to build her "home".
A few moments of thaught made it clear that sleeping on the floor whas NOT a good idea. Predators must be in this forest, and they would definately would want some kind of snack, and she would be perfect for that.
So she gazed higher, and found a beautifull spot in a nearby tree and started to examine her way up.
She started to climb up the tree, and found a very easy route.
After building her new residence, she decided that it whas time to take a quick rest before figureing out how to survive in this wildernis. Besides, it should not be as hard as taking care of needy politicians.
With a wide smile she fell asleep.
