Okay, so yesterday, my hosting service said "Hey! We have a deal! Change over to this new package, get more space, more bandwidth, and pay less money"
Now, my mother didn't raise an idiot. So I was like WOO HOO! Yeah, sign me up!
So they did. O.O And I have to move everything, which I wasn't expecting, but geh...
I'm going to try to get everything taken care of tonight, but I don't know how long it will take to move the domain pointer to the new ip address. I will do my best to keep service interruption down to a minimum. Please bear with me for the next few days. ok?

I've already gotten the mysql stuff installed. I'll probably move the static pages first, then re-install *SOBS* the forum software on the new server in preparation for moving the database.
At a certain point in time, I'm going to have to lock down the forums from any posting whatsoever, otherwise we'll lose messages when I move it over. At that time, you'll be able to read everything, just not post.
Once I get the database restored to the new server, I'll change the domain to point to the new ip address. How long that will take to populate system-wide, I don't know. They say 24 - 48 hours.
So, in the meantime, you'll have to go to the ip address of the new server, but I'll post it as a link here, or change the main index page (at http://blissfulignorance.com) to link to the ip address of the new server.
I don't expect you all to be able to follow that, unless you have some experience with webhosting... So, I'll try to keep you informed with the stuff you need to know and not bother you with the stuff that makes no sense.

Ah the horrors of websites...I actually could follow you through all that mubo-jumbo now. I'm not sure if that's good or bad >_< This forum is so huge, I hope you are transfering large quantities at once and not bit by bit. Else we may have a dead Jen by monday! And we need you! Who else will comand the 1xR Brigade?? I mean sure I can handle the Heero torture, and Shannon can be the best darn 1xR Nazi, but the brigade?? WHINE!!! My in-laws have been here so I've gotten next to nil moved, that's my first complaint.
Secondly... WHINE!!! I knew it was a basic instally, but NO ERROR PAGES????? I don't even get bleedin typical '404 error page not found' PAGES? I HAVE TO CREATE THEM MYSELF???? WHINE!!!
Ok. Done. Back to moving stuff since the in-laws are asleep and hubby is out.
