Greetings, I am Tumbleweed. Lauren directed me to this message board and now I'm here. It seems to be a nice enough place.

Obviously, I'm a fan of Gundam Wing and I also favor the 1xR pairing. I'm actually rather new to the fandom, actually. It was a freind of mine that actually introduced me to the GW series and shortly after seeing it, I was quite hooked. I saw the series backwards, intrestingly enough, I saw Endless Waltz first, then the seies. I guess something about people fighting in giant, humaniod machines while arguing about the fate of abandoned soldiers was attractive to me. It actually reminded me of Germany, post WWI.

Anyway, other then that, I really haven't seen a whole lot of anime. I don't have anything against it, I just rarely have the opportunity to see a quality one.

I do like RPGs though (mostly classit stough though). Some of my favorite games include Lunar:SSSC (it's a classic), Lunar2:EBC, Xenogears (extremely intresting plot), Grandia, Star Ocean (the battle system kicks so much but), FFT (greatest skill system I have EVER seen), FF6 (lots of sentimental value), Chrono Trigger (more sentimental value) and a good many others. I suppose I'm the nostalgic type gamer but I hold to it.

Anyway, other then that, I have a mild fascination with history and science.

I only have one fic to post here right now. I think I'll have to put it up a little later though.

Also, there's some anime I think you'll like all depends on your tastes and that would be Naruto (about Ninjas but its not been licensed yet thank god) Full Metal Panic! (has some mechs in it too), and Hellsing (depends on how you feel about vampires and kick ass vampires with kick ass guns who...well....kick alot of ass )

I only entered fandom last summer and didn't start writing fics til last winter so I understand the newness of it all.

This is a gloriously fun community here and you have found the perfect place to nurse your 1xR-ness.

I'm also excited that you likened GW to historical periods. History is my hobby and my passion and the more people I can encourage to write historical fics the better, I think.

Well it usually isn't so much a matter of liking it as much as it is a matter of getting to see ones which aren't aimed at elementry school kids. I'll keep your advice in mind though.

About vampires, its not that I dislike them its that I'm not particularly fond of them. I guess Im rather indifferent actually.
