An Offering (Poem)

it may not mean much.

the sacrifice of my pride.
the surrender of my soft sighs.
the forgiveness in my shy little smiles.

it may not mean much.

the offering of a gentle hand.
the softening of my rigid stance.
the fluttering of my butterflies.

it may not mean much.

the warmth found in my arms
when your passion grows cold.
the breath found in my mouth
when you grow weary and old.
the promises i vow would be yours.

it may not mean much.

it may not matter at all.
it may not be what you've been waiting for.
i may not mean much. but still...

i offer you my world. even if.

it may not mean much.

Note: I'm not looking for reviews or constructive criticism as much as i am looking for anyone who can relate to the emotions. And no, this doesn't make me a sappy person. I'm still the Queen of Angst who gags at the thought of anything pinkish and fluffy. Hehe.

Ooh... You hardly give yourself enough credit, raine.... That was very eloquent! There are definitely times when I feel that way!

Great job, girl!

Oh yes, I've been there. I felt the need to give everything I could to the person I cared about and even if they rejected it I could not stop myself from letting the offer stand. Very touching poem, it really hits home for me. Your words are sweet yet sad...

Do not measure life by the number of breaths you take but rather by the moments that take your breath away.

Some things belong on paper, others in life. It's a blessed fool who can't tell the difference. - Madeleine "Quills"
