Mercenary Relena Chapter Three

?Okay. So here we are in the beautiful woods of,? Relena paused. She couldn?t remember where they were exactly. ?Wherever.?
Trowa looked around and then up at the sky. ?It?s around three in the afternoon.?
?Three twelve actually.? Relena showed him her watch as though he might be a little dense.
Trowa looked at the woman?s wrist and without warning stripped her of the watch.
?I want you to gauge time by the sun. No watches, just you, the earth, and instinct.? He looked at the watch. It was of expensive make.
?It was a present from Quatre.?
?Your birthday??
Relena laughed. Not one of her, ?oh what a stupid joke but I?ll be polite anyway? laughs, but neither was it a true laugh. ?No not for my birthday. It was an apology present. You see he thought I still had a thing for whatshisface and didn?t want me to hate him?Quatre?for setting whosit up with Dorothy.?
Trowa?s eyes widened. ?Heero and Dorothy are a couple?? Impossible!
Relena nodded.
?What about Sylvia??
?Sylvia?s with Duo. And Hilde?s now with Quatre.?
This new information was rather mind boggling for the clown. It seemed all of his former comrades had decided to switch lovers.
?But Wufei and Sally are still together right??
?Yes but I think Lady Une has begun to spend many a night there since the party.? Relena looked around. The woods were really pretty at that time of day. So peaceful. Ugh! I hate that word!
?What party?? Trowa asked not sure if he wanted to know the answer.
?A few months back, Duo held a party to which you were invited but didn?t go.? A pause. ?Probably a wise decision. Anyway things got a little out of hand due to the Jose Cuervo and a little group lovin? occurred. In the morning everyone decided to try different things or rather people. When Quatre saw me later that morning and my apparent ?Oh Heero I thought I?d be next? look, he bought me the watch.? Relena shrugged.
Trowa shook his head in disbelief. Four former Gundam pilots, their boss, and their girlfriends decided to have an orgy then swap lovers. And where was Relena during all of this?
?Were you upset about Heero?s choice of lover?? She may say she couldn?t stand him but Trowa knew that women say a lot of things and meant less than half.
?Ha!? Relena began walking away mindlessly. ?My crush on the git ended a long time ago. Now he?s just a daily reminder of my self-imposed prison. Bastaaaaagh!? Relena?s foot gave way and sent her tumbling down a small hill that ended at a small stream.
Slightly surprise at her clumsiness and in his attempt not to laugh aloud, Trowa cautiously and certainly more gracefully followed the girl. He found her rubbing her ankle, then her knee and thigh while her other foot was resting in the stream.
Trowa knelt down next the influential, if not accident prone, politician. ?Oh yes. I forgot about this area.? He looked around their surroundings. ?Watch your step.?
Relena glared at her teacher. ?Thanks for the warning.?
?Nothing to it.?
?Anyone tell you that you resemble Duo in humor??
?No need to insult me Pinky.?
?Pinky? Pinky?! Why you little?.?
?I?m actually taller than you?.?
??No good two-bit clown!?
?Now that hurt.?
Relena rushed the ?two-bit? clown but was easily sidestepped. She now lay sprawled on the grass, embarrassment exuding from every pore in her body.
?Are you done playing around? I would like to begin our lessons.?
?I hate you,? she said in response.
