1. They are decendants of people from Earth. However, the people who first colonized Pern are decendants of the G-boys.
2. They have lived without advanced technology for over 2000 years.
3. Dragons are the one defense against Thread. A sporatic organism that consumes all living matter it touches. It is defeated by stone walls, fire, Dragons flaming them, and HNO3 (Aegenothree) Drowns in deep water, and freezes at high altitude temperatures (the High Reaches).
I'll give you the story now.

Somewhere near Benden Hold....
An old woman and her ward were tending to the runner beasts and finishing there last chores before bed. The red star loomed over their heads and was suddenly dim compared to the light falling from the sky. The old woman was inside, already oblivious to anything but starting dinner. The boy watched the light and swore he saw it fall close to the weyr. "Keevan, come inside. It's late."
"Alright," and he soon forgot the light and went inside without a second glance. After all, he was going to the weyr soon anyway for the hatching in a couple sevendays.

Heero's POV
Wracking pain shot threw his body when they entered the planet's atmosphere. Relena woke and stared out of the small window. "Heero, are we there yet?" She asked as she chuckled lightly. She was in shock.
"Almost. Unh!" The pod bounced fiercely and jarred his broken ribs and bullet wounds. His vision threatened to blur again so he shook his head slightly. Relena looked at him tiredly. "Heero, I'm going to take a nap right now."
Fear surged through him. If they didn't reach the ground soon... "Ok." He said as she snuggled into him. She was unconcious.
Please, anyone. Save her. If this pod survives, save her. I don't care about me, just Please...SAVE HER!!!!
His mind screamed to no one. Or did it? Was he screaming at himself? Or someone down on the ground? He grunted when the pod escaped the higher altitudes.
Who calls us? a voice asked him suddenly.
The falling pod!His mind practically cried it out as he heard the emergency landing brakes turned on.
You mean that thing falling? a female voice asked.
Yes! Just save her! I don't care what happens to me, just save her. She's the only thing I care about! Unh!
Do not worry, we will stop it. Mnementh, tell F'lar and Lessa. I'll call the dragons. Do not fear, we'll save you both.
Heero blacked out before he heard their discussion. Before he heard the word, "Dragon".

(Ok, this is after F'nor tries to go to the Red star and he is already recovered. Mennolly is at the Harper Hall. Robinton is at the Weyr trying to disscuss Mennolly with Lessa but ends up staying the night since he is full of Benden wine.
Benden Weyr, Weyrleader's quarters...
F'lar, rise the healer! Mnementh cried.
"What in Pern is going?" Lessa cried and dressed quickly. F'lar a little faster than Lessa, called out to Mnementh to explain himself.
We need a healer. The falling star cries out. Ramoth and the weyr is helping.
What falling star? F'lar and Lessa asked him shocked. They ran out of the weyr and watched as riderless dragons slowed the descent of the'falling star' and it fell lightly onto the pasture next to the lake. Manora was out there with about half of the inner weyr clamoring, complaining, and exclaiming excitedly when the recalled the dragons yelling at them to wake up and help the falling star.
F'nor reached F'lar at the edge of the pasture and nearly back flipped to stop himself. Brekke was just behind him, holding her fire lizards back with an order. "Manora! Our bags!" And she started to walk towards it. F'nor followed her slowly. Then, to everyones shock, Robinton appeared right next to it, out of breath, but there. "I just got here. I was going to leave for the Harper Hall and, goodness me! This'll be a long song to write about!"
Lessa called the dragons back to their riders and Ramoth and Mnementh to them. Ramoth was still trying to get at the fallen object. Lessa! Help it!It needs to be, uh, I don't know but It needs help!
Calm down Ramoth! What about your eggs?
As if just realizing she had left them for so long, she shreiked and flew into the hatching grounds faster than a green in heat.
F'lar walked up to the object and tried to touch it. It wasn't persay hot, but It wouldn't be easy to pry it open. "Get something to open it!" he called out, but the thing made the darndest sound. "..scraak! Opening, ...nscrk!ow." And the door to it gave way. It fell right at Robinton's feet so he jumped back quickly. Mnementh poked his head into it and tried to pull something from it. Help them! F'lar, get a healer! There is blood! And this one is of the blood. I think so anyway.
"Manora! Get over here! There was people in this contraption!" Lessa called her over and walked over to F'lar and gripped his arm fearfully.
The people were a boy and a girl, no older than what she was before impressing Ramoth. They were also injured, bleeding profusely and unconcious. The girl stirred when they moved her off the boys chest. "...He-r-ro?" Manora tried to soothe her while Robinton and Brekke helped carry them both to the Weyrling's barracks. "My word, but he is in poor shape!" Robinton exclaimed when they got them on a bunk. "We may need Oldive to help them."
Everyone was just shocked that the dragons reacted so strongly to their need of help. Lessa said she was going to reasure Ramoth that her eggs were fine, before she squisshes them to death with her nose.
"I hope," Robinton said as he patted his forhead with a clean cloth."That they live through this, then I can ask them if next time, they would warn us first, instead of the dragons." F'lar laughed at that.

Next day...
Relena POV
"...Heero?" she called out, her voice cracking from lack of water. She felt a dull ache in her left shoulder, a bandage covered it lightly, but that didn't matter, what mattered was where he was. Her surroundings were a cross between gothic caverns and Martha Stuart the second. (wink wink.)
The draperies were covered in pictures of dragons and people flaming some kind of ooze with flame throwers. Dragons were rode by their riders and had sacks of something or other in them. Ignoring the tapestries, Relena walked out of the chamber dizzily. The room danced before her ever so slightly. It appeared that there was no windows, just a large balcony. She walked to the edge, still looking for Heero. 'Where is he?' her mind asked herself as she started to worry. The view was enormous. The mountain she was on was part of a very large crater, with a lake and animals down below.
She was starting to turn around when something caught her eye behind a large mound of, ...Bronze? A ventilation of somesort was blowing sweet smelling air into her face. It was warm and spicy. 'It's wonderful. Makes me warm, and-'
Thankyou, though I haven't been complimented on my breath much.
Yelping she took a step backwards. Unfortunately,...The ground failed to meet her feet. "Oh!!" But something caught her around her waist and pulled her back on her feet. Careful! The mountain had moved. But it wasn't a mound.
"You're uh...You're a uh, dragon." she managed to croak out.
Last time I checked. My name is Mnementh, F'lar's dragon. He said sarcastically. What were you doing up? You should be resting. If you don't you won't get better.
"I am sorry to concern you, uh, Mnementh. But I can't, not until I find Heero." she politely explained to the dragon who could swallow her in one bite with teeth the size of a meter stick.
Hero? Why do you want to find a hero? Dragon riders are Heroes, but you didn't ask for a particular one. Mnementh asked puzzled.
"Not hero, Heero. H-E-E-R-O. The young man I was with when, you found me."
Oh! Him! I'll ask F'lar for you. Don't worry. But you must rest. Sleep well, girl from the fallen star. And he started to walk into the larger chamber.
"Girl from the fallen star?" she mumbled while walking back into the room. Might as well sit and wait for this guy named F'lar. She also sat down because her near death experience was wearing down her newly recovered energy.
Sitting down she realized how stupid she was. She forgot Heero's and her link to one another. <Heero? Are you there?> When no answer came she slumped her shoulders and her worries came back. 'Where are you?'
"Miss? I am F'nor, Canth's rider. I'm F'lar's wing second. You've met Mnementh," A man with unruly dark brown hair. Darker than Heero's, and a little longer too, but he had a friendly manner about him so Relena decided to trust him.
"Hello, I am Relena. Mnementh said that he would ask his rider, F'lar to tell me where Heero is." Relena inwardly was shocked. 'Where were they? On the planet? But that's impossible!'
"Heero? Oh, the young man. Yes, well, you do realize that your arm was injured correct? Of course you do. Well, he was far worse for the wear and tare. He had two of those sort of wounds that you have, and deep bruising. He also had two broken ribs. Our healer Manora helped him and you recover. He's unconcious and resting in another room." said the Wing Second.
Relena stayed quiet during his somewhat blathering recount on Heero and nodded. She had thought as much. "Can I see him?"
"Sure. But it will be quicker if Canth takes us to the weyr we put him in. And it will be better for you, so that you don't tire." 'And so Brekke doesn't kill me for letting you go on your own.' He thought privately as he signaled Canth over. 'She probably would have tried to find him on her own if he hadn't agreed with F'lar to talk to her, while Canth and him recovered from our trip to the Red Star. Relena thanked him and let him help her up onto Canth's newly healed back. He hopped in front."Brace yourself." Relena did so gripping his shoulders tightly, and was grateful for his consideration. It wasn't that she was scared of heights, or of Canth, it was that she couldn't grip very well with her left arm.
When they reached the cavern three floors down, Relena was assisted off Canth, his hide a dark brown. So much like Heero's. Thanking F'nor they walked inside.
"F'nor! What in Pern are you doing? She's supposed to be in bed!" A formidable woman yelled at him sternly. "Not that I blame you miss, but you should be resting."
"She can talk to dragons Manora, and she asked to be brought here. She asked, Mnementh. F'lar was to busy trying to keep the ruckus down in the council-room. So I assisted her down here. She didn't even ruffle her hair." 'Much.' he added privately.
"Well that's all well and good but still..."
"It's alright Manora," another woman walked up and smiled approvingly at F'nor. "Canth just told me why he did it. He said that he was really careful, and didn't jostle her or his own newly recovered hide. He also said that she wouldn't rest until she has found this, Heero. The young man."
"Oh," Manora said as she directed a drudge down to the lake for something."Well why didn't you say so F'nor?"
"Shards Manora! She's only awake for half an hour and you're already yelling at me infront of a stranger. By the way,"He came close to the other woman and gave her a peck on the cheek."At least someone cares to be on my side. Right Brekke?"
Relena smiled at the rebuke Manora gave F'nor and the pretend hurt on his faces. Relena watched as Brekke, smiling slightly turned and smiled at her. Her eyes seemed so, well, not really living, but not dead. But she smiled. Relena knew that she had something to live for, just as she herself did with Heero.
"I don't mean to be rude but..."
"Oh, nonsense child! You're the most polite little dearing. You want to see your man then? Alright, he's over here." Manora guided Relena to another chamber in the cave and in her mind, commended the girl for her strength to stay awake. When she had fallen out of that object with her friend, she was so pale that she would have thought her to be dead if it weren't for her pleading question for her 'Heero'. The girl now was a little more colored in the face, and a little tired.
When they got to the room Heero was in Relena gasped and went to his bed as quickly as possible. He was unconcious, bandaged all over his torso, and he had a fever. Relena also saw a bullet wound in his left arm, bandaged neatly. "Heero!"
"Easy there, you have one of those wounds too. Take a seat before you fall on him." Positioning a seat close to the bed Manora gestured for Relena to sit down. Relena however, lay next to Heero and positioned herself so that his head rested in her lap. 'Talk about deja vu.' Heero seemed to rest easier now. Which shocked Manora out of her wits. 'They were lovers. At there age?! Why she looked no more than 16 turns give or take.
"Thankyou, Manora. But I'm going to make sure his fever goes down."
"I'll have Brekke or Mirrim, her foster child help you. You need to rest too. And I'll be an old wherry if I think that this here fella would let you weaken yourself to help him. They'll bring numbweed too." 'And fellis for you and him if you don't fall asleep soon after I leave.'
"Thankyou. I'm grateful for your kindness." Relena smiled weakly, then started to try and soothe Heero into a deeper sleep so that when Brekke and her Foster-child came in, he wouldn't wake up suddenly. 'Not that he would, with his being unconcious.' A nagging annoyed thought pressed into her thoughts. Her own thought, but she was going to do her best to heal Heero. Groaning slightly, Heero arched his neck in his sleep. Relena smoothed his sweaty bangs on his forehead and tried not to jostle him while trying to get comfortable. Her shoulder was starting to ache now. Not so much as Heero's pain was, but still, it hurt. That was when Brekke came in with a girl about her age and a tray of pots and a,... old wine flask?
"Hello, Relena. F'nor told me your name and his as well. This is Mirrim. She'll help you with your bandage while I slather his wounds with numbweed. After I get his bandages off first." Nodding, the girl Mirrim started to undo the bandage. Wincing occasionally, Relena gasped when Mirrim put numbweed on her shoulder. Almost instantly she felt her shoulder numbing.
"Hmm, not to bad, but I suppose it's deep, right? No infections, that's good. Brekke? Is this alright?"
Brekke nodded, while tending to Heero's arm injury. She had already finished his rebandaging when three miniture dragons came out of nowhere, landing on the other girls shoulders. They were very beautiful, the bronze mini and the two green minis were cheeping about something. "Relena is it? You must be thirsty. How about I fix you something?" Mirrim talked almost at once. Pouring a cup of what Relena presumed was wine, and handing it to her. Diplomatically, into her right hand. Thanking her, Relena sipped it, looking at how Brekke bandaged Heero's arm and made a poulticeof some sort with herbs and a damp cloth. Placing it over his head Heero shivered. Moving to keep im and her comfortable, Relena started to feel drowsy, not just tired, but really sleepy.
Yawning, she snuggled next to Heero, closing her eyes and nodding off just as quickly.
"Did the Fellis juice work?" Mirrim asked as Brekke removed the empty cup from Relena's hand. "Yes, but we better leave them here. I'll check on them tonight, after I prove F'nor and Canth they're sound to go between. IF they are sound enough."
"Under your care, anyone would be sound to go between." Mirrim firmly replied as they left the two sleeping and throughly exsaughsted.

Near Half-Circle....
Elyn got out when the shuttle landed and made the loudest cursings and ruckus that anyone had ever heard from her.
Duo and the others were almost in the same way. Zechs was leaning against the shuttle, blaming himself for not double checking. Noin was trying to sooothe him while Duo watched Elyn swear and curse in Japanese.
Trowa, Catherine, Sally, and Wufei were thinking about going back to get them or to stop their friends from doing so. Quatre and Dorthy were helping the Maganacs with the injured. Jesse, Lurana, and Mei Linn were checking out the area, keeping the docs from doing mischief to themselves.
"Elyn, calm down," Marion said as she touched an insect that looked like a roly-poly only furry. "I checked the plans to he ship, there was an escape pod in the control room."
"Doesn't do them any good if they're not breathing now does it?" Zechs snapped.
Elyn saw the sense in what Marion said. Usually, if things were rough, the old biddy knew what was important. "Then why, didn't he call me? We are twins you know." She said as Duo came up close to her. They still hadn't gotten to the close 'touchy feely' coupling yet. Elyn wasn't that kind of girl. That didn't seem to bother Duo or her though.
"Maybe he's out of range? Maybe he's unconcious and Relena is awake? I don't know, I'm not a twin." Marion suggested. J agreed to the last part.
"Well , might as well check this planet out," Duo said hopefully. <Might as well, right Elyn?>
Nodding she started off along the beach line. Deciding that Heero would be unconcious or out of range, she still tried to call out to him. Duo came along behind her a few paces behind. Everyone else was helping get the shuttle out of the sand.
Keeping a staedy pace, she didn't watch where she was going. (Big mistake) The sands went from ground, ...to cliff.
"Whoaaaa!" *Fump!* She landed on some rounded rocks. They were about ostrich size, though harder.
"Elyn! You alright?" Duo called down from the top of the cliff. 'Insult to injury' Elyn thought to herself. Then, something happened. Three gold streaks of light buzz bombed her. Ducking she looked down. The rocks, were eggs.
Schreeching, the lights stopped in mid air, showing what the were. Minuture dragons. Three, Minuture dragons. And they were not pleased, to put it nicely.
Pecking and scratching, they attacked a her. Elyn dodged them, getting out of the way and climbing right next to a small cave. They stopped when she was in a crevice. <Damn things pushed me into a crevice Duo!>
<What things? I don't see anything>
Before she could answer, a humming started. Actually it had just started when she fell ontop. It increased in volume when 16 more little dragons appeared out of nowhere.( Almost like Elyn's dissappearing acts.) The eggs wobbled. They were hatching!
40 in all, the eggs wobbled and started to crack. The humming increased in pitch. The first one to come out was a bronze colored dragon. Creeling with hunger, it went out to a dragon profering a weird looking shrimp. Devouring it, it demanded more. Soon more little dragons popped out, creeling and devouring the little amount of food brought to them. They started to follow some of the grown ups up into the sky.
Then, some weird looking creatures started to attack the young ones. Something about them facinated Elyn. (the fire lizards). She grabbed her gun, and shot two of the creatures to the ground. Squeeling, the older fire lizards and their newly hatched children dissappeared. The left over babies creeled louder for food. Due to gravity, the food came quickly. Unfortunately, it landed on Elyn.
Chapter 4 coming soon.
