Samurai Deeper Kyo?
Hey all!
I just bought the first volume of this series, and its great! Has anyone else heard of it?
I'd like to write fanfiction for it, but don't know if anyone would read it! haha..
Its basically a guy named Kyoshiro who somehow came to posses the spirit of his enemy, Demon Eyes Kyo, in a battle. Kyoshiro and Kyo (very very cute, by the way) share bodies, and have to kinda take turns! Its a great story so far, but I'm only on episode three.
Let me know if you've seen it, or would read a fanfiction of it!
Thanks, athena

Yay!
I'll start on that right away, miaka! I agree with you about the kenshin thing, and I rather think Kyo looks like Heero. Of course, I may be a little biased..but hey! He's cute anyway.
I'm glad someone else loves it too! Don't worry..I read to much manga too.

I'll read it too!
Only read the first volume of the manga but I think there is lots to fuel some exciting fics.
Plus I always have things thing for insane and self assured men in anime. Kyo has a place in my heart right behind Enishi already.

Omg! Please do write a fanfiction. I just finished the entire series today and I must admit, I love the way he's a badass through the whole series(unlike Kenshin!). I'll be sure to check back to see if you've posted anything! =)
What?! You've finished this already? We've had a team working on this project for three weeks and you're done in ONE day?! We can't turn this in yet, go pretend like you have something to do for a few more days. --Corporate Genius

We're a little behind here in Canada with regards to the manga available I think. I just picked up books 1 and 2 from Chapters (Hubby was very understanding about blowing $35 on comics) and I though they were great.
I have to say that I like the Demon Eyes Kyo personality the best. Then again, if he's even remotely a bad-ass with some kind of redeaming quality, he's my type (I married one of thoses types).
I've been trying to find DNAngel, but the stupid Chapters says they don't have them/are out of stock.

This is a series I've been meaning to check out for awhile as I have a horrible weakness for men who wield swords. (true loves = Samurai Champloo in anime and Blade of the Immortal in manga) I've read pretty much universally good things about the manga, but the anime is another matter. The reactions I've read for the anime are mixed at best, edging towards lukewarm.
Is anyone familiar with both? How would you rate them alone and/or in comparison to each other?

OMG, I would love to read some SDK fanfics. There aren't a lot of them on fanfiction.net so it would great to read some more!
On a sidenote, do you guys think it's worthwhile to buy a SDK doujinshi for $24?

Hm, I've seen the anime and read volume 12 of the manga and my overall opinion is that the manga version is better than the anime. The SDK anime version is toned down compared to the manga. A lot of the violence and fanservice stuff were taken out and the storyline didn't follow the manga very closely (although the ending was a bit interesting ^_~). However, the anime wasn't too bad. It was full of action and the acting (Japanese) was great. So I would probably rate using a scale of 1-5, 5 being the best and 1 is really bad, the manga would get 4.6 and the anime 3.5Smarty Cat wrote: Is anyone familiar with both?
