Hi! I had so much fun writing this, fantasitc idea Rose! I love my beta, she fixed this up for me. I own nothing, except for the idea.
Enjoy!
One of Those Days
It was going to be one of those days.
Snow was falling down in sheets outside of her window, but Relena Darlian did not notice. Buried under a huge pile of paperwork that was considered ‘Priority One’, she looked about ready to strangle the next person she saw.
In her head, she was thinking up evil plans to get revenge on her secretary for all this work. A loud, impatient knock interrupted her thoughts. “Have you come to ruin my day as well?” she purred with as much force as a cat about to pounce. Nostrils almost flaring, she stood up and glided towards the door.
Yanking the door open, her peeved expression met narrowed Chinese eyes.
“Wufei?”
No one ever came to visit her, and with some disappointment, she had hoped someone besides ‘Justice Boy’ would stop in for a cup of tea.
“So, glad you remembered my name.” Wufei retorted frostily. He was no happier being there as she was in seeing him there.
She frowned slightly. “What can I thank for the pleasure of your presence?”
Wufei straighten, and saluted. “A mission, ma’am.”
Relena was taken aback by the statement.
With that, he proceeded in sweeping her off her feet. Too shocked to say anything, Relena stared at her abandoned desk as she was ‘kindly escorted’ out of her office.
Relena was placed in what remarkably resembled a laundry basket on wheels. Wufei looked at her with as much dignity and pride as he could muster, and saluted again.
“Bon voyage, ma’am.”
With a push, a startled Relena flew down the hall. Doors and windows whisked past her, and her little office become smaller and smaller by the second.
‘What have I done to deserve this?!’
She more felt than heard the crash as her little laundry basket entered the elevator at the end of the hall. As the doors closed, her wide eyes caught Wufei still saluting her.
“WUFEI CHA..!“
Her desperate cry was stopped short as the metal doors closed. Looking around wildly, she noticed that the elevator was already programmed to take her to the lobby.
Glaring daggers at her personal prison for a few minutes, she straightened her skirt and brushed off a stray sock that attached itself to her jacket.
A small ding, and she was hurdled out of the elevator only to crash into-
“Quatre?!”
He smiled. “Miss Relena, it’s a pleasure. But we’re running a little late.”
Yet again, Relena was picked up and removed from her precious office building. This caught her more by surprise, because she thought Quatre was hardly capable of such actions.
Glass doors opened to falling snow and a white speckled black limo. The driver of the limo, she presumed, opened the door for her and her captor.
Once the door was shut again, and she attempted to get information on what was happening.
“Quatre, this is all very confusing. I would very much appreciate it, if you could tell me something. You’ve always been so kind to me,” she purred, her voice dripping with kindness.
He rolled down the window and gave her a stern look, “Nice try, but I can‘t tell you.”
Relena pouted, and accepted the silence that followed. She watched out of the window as scenery sped by, trying to get a sense of where she was unwillingly being taken.
Abruptly the vehicle came to a stop and she lurched forward. The door opened again, and Quatre looked a bit apologetic.
“Terribly sorry about all of this. But you’ll see in the end.”
While glad she was finally allowed to stand, Relena opened her mouth to try ask what she was going to see.
This feeling was short lived as she felt herself lifted up, and walked over to an awaiting sled.
‘What the…’
She was gently set down on it, and she looked up at her kidnapper.
“Oh. Hello, Trowa.”
The silent man gave her a smile and a nod.
“Good-bye, Relena.”
“What do you mean?!”
Suddenly, Relena found herself flying down a snow-covered hill on a sled. A small scream escaped her lips as her fingers franticly looked around for something to grip on.
‘This day is getting much worse.’
At the bottom of the hill, she slid to a halt a few feet in front of a very mischievous looking Duo.
“Yo, Princess. Having a good time yet?”
Standing up and dusting herself off, Relena gave him a look. “Oh yes, lots,” she replied, dripping sarcasm.
He grinned. “Good to hear.”
“So,” she said looking around, “what now? I don’t see any thing I have to ride…”
Duo shook his head. “Nothing but me.” With that, Relena was thrown over his shoulder.
Looking up at the hill she had just been acquainted with, Relena sighed.
‘Time for plan B.’
“Duo! You better let me down this instant, or I will kill you!”
Duo chuckled. “Sorry, no can do.”
A wicked grin crossed her features. “I’ll tell Hilde about…
Duo laughed nervously. “Nah, Princess, you wouldn’t do that to me.”
“Oh really…”
More nervous laughter.
Relena sighed. ‘This was getting a little too suspicious. So far, she had been escorted by every pilot but..’
“Duo,” she said in a stern tone.
“Yea?”
“You’re pilot ’02, aren’t you?”
“Yep.”
Relena groaned. This meant she would get to see HIM next. The only person in the world who could make the feared politician tongue-tied.
“Hey, buddy!”
A loud ‘hn’ confirmed her suspicions.
She felt herself being placed on the ground, and she turned to glare at Duo. He brought his hands up in mock surrender, and laughed. Giving her a wave, he left.
Relena knew he was behind her, but she felt that if she didn’t turn around, he wouldn’t be there.
With a short pause, he asked “What are you doing?”
Relena straightened and with as much dignity as she could muster said, “Waiting.”
“For what?”
“To be picked up, since that seems to be the current style of kidnapping.”
“Oh.”
Relena continued to glare with intensity at a tree in front of her.
“I’m not going to pick you up.”
“Oh.”
Clenching her fists, Relena gathered enough courage to turn around. While doing so, she said, “And what is so important for you to kidnap me from work?”
She was about to continue, but she let out a gasp and brought her hand to her mouth.
Heero was kneeling with one knee on the pavement, and holding out a little black box.
Eyes nearly popping out of her skull, she managed to speak. “The mission Wufei was talking about…this is it?”
“Yeah.”
His soft Prussian eyes looked at her patiently, but he was beginning to feel some doubts.
“How.. How did you get them all to help?”
“Duo and Quatre willingly helped, when I asked. I had to use different methods to persuade Trowa and Wufei to help.”
She giggled.
Heero cleared his throat to remind her why he was kneeling in the snow.
She smiled at him. “Stand up.”
As he did so, Relena got a glimpse of the area she had been kidnapped to. Snow had disguised the water and the sand, she realized she was looking at a beach.
Squinting her eyes to see, she noticed something written in the snow. ‘Relena, will you-‘
Relena gasped again. She stared at Heero, the box in his hands, the beach, and back at Heero.
“This-this is where we met.’
Heero grunted an affirmative.
“Will you take me down there?” she asked, not taking her eyes of him.
Taken aback, Heero nodded. He led her down to the beach, taking one step at a time. Mustering all his courage, he slipped his hands into Relena’s. She turned to face him and smiled.
“So, you prepared all of this for me?”
“Yeah.”
He fidgeted, a little unnerved that she was taking so long to answer him. He had never done this before, but he assumed it didn’t take this long to say one word.
Relena looked out at the water thoughtfully. Brow furrowed, she spoke thoughtfully. “You’re not the same soldier I met on this beach.”
Heero said nothing for a moment. “You’re not the same either.”
Smiling, Relena nodded. “No, I suppose not. But, you still have the same heart. The same part of you… ”
Heero braced himself for defeat. Those types of words usually led to it.
“… that I fell in love with that day. And, the part of you that I still love,” she said with an wistful smile.
Heero blinked.
“That, Heero, means that yes, I would love to marry you. But, I still have to go back to work, you know.”
He smiled. Walking over to her with a mischievous glint in his eyes, he sweeped her up into his arms.
Relena let out a gasp, but smiled back at him.
After all, it had been one of those days.

*blushes* I'm glad everyone likes it!
Haha..yes, DragonQueen has it. Heero can be very creative sometimes.
I had so much fun torturing Wufei in this..but, with a love letter at stake, who wouldn't go along with whatever Heero said?
Thanks! I got the idea from an old Scottish movie called "Gregory's Girl."

What a wild ride Relena went through! It should be put in an amusement park. I can see it now, all the Gundam Pilots escorting you from place and place and the grand finale of Heero waiting in the end.
Love it, athena!
