Hi! I've been lurking for a while, but I'm trying to gradually creep out, so I might as well start by introducing myself...who knows, I may even get around to posting my fics! I'm Amanda, twenty-something anime fanatic and fanfic writer for 2 or 3 years. I have an inexplicable passion for AUs, and I'm a complete 1xR shipper. (alternate pairings just aren't my thing in any series) I also like writing 2xH and 6x9 although I've never done them as more then secondary plotlines. Right now I have several stories I'm working on, but most are trapped in the quagmire of writer's block.
My anime favorites are El Hazard (original OAV only; I can't deal with Wanderers! *shudder*), Rayearth, Fruits Basket, Blue Seed, Sailor Moon....the list goes on and on. Other loves include my original writing, sci-fi/fantasy novels, various crafts, and cooking.
I love this place as a safe haven from my pet peeves: mindless character bashing, cliched devices, and bad spelling/grammar

I have not seen El Hazard or Rayearth. I LOVE Fruits Basket, Kenshin, Weiss Kreuz (Knight Hunters), Card Captor Sakura, Escaflowne, TRIGUN!!! I love love love Vash!!! Full Metal Panic is hilarious. I really like that one. Hellsing is another one I just got into and am really enjoying. I want to see more of Ceres and give FY another shot. ^___^

I keep trying to do original writing. It's harder than fanfic writing. Mostly sci-fi and some horror, surprisingly enough.
I like to bake more than cook. It doesn't do much for the waistline, though.

Thanks for the welcome! AUs are so much fun...I guess i just get a kick out of seeing what weird situation i can put them in. And I think it's easier to know you aren't doing something that's been done five hundred times before.
Hope we do get a chance to talk some time!

*sigh* I feel your pain. Job hunting is the story of my life right now too. And it's almost impossible to concentrate when you're waiting for phone calls and worrying about interviews! Good luck with your hunting!

I love Kenshin and CCS too. Sadly, I've only gotten to see a few eps of Trigun. It looked great though! Yu Watase is a great storyteller, although I can only take Ceres in small doses...I don't have much of an angst tolerance threshold right now.

Definitely! There's so much more that has to come out of your own head, especially if you're trying to create a whole world as you often have to with sci-fi. But it's really rewarding when it works. If it works...

I must be a masochist or something...I'll sit and watch six or seven eps of Ceres in one sitting. Of course, that might have more to do with my Toya addiction than with the actual story (good at it may be)...Toooooyaaa...**drools**

Ahem. Anyway, I have seen only three series in their entirety...Trigun, Gundam Wing and Ceres. I still have not made it through Weiss, have seen the first few eps of Esca, and cannot for the life of me finish Evangelion(I make it up to the end of the second dvd, then life picks up and I have no time for watching anime-and then I forget everything that happened and have to watch them again. -_-) I'd love to expand my horizons, but I'm afraid I'll turn into Mandy(aisuru113)..."I need a cheaper addiction...like crack." (Love you, Mandy!)

Wait, what was the point of this post? Oh yeah...Ceres. Gotta love Ceres. ^^
