Bride and the Beast Prologue

Post by lil ole me »

The Bride and the Beast

A/ N: This fic is based on a book I read sometime ago by Teresa Medieros, so basically I don?t own the plot. The story setting is 17th century England?I had to change things here and there to make it fit to the GW outline. This story has no historical value, everything was made up. This is my 1st fic ever so please forgive for mistakes; I?m not much of a writer.
Disclaimer: I don?t own GW so there.

Prologue
England, 1646

Relena was nine years old that day she almost killed the future lord of Blisslake, Heero Yuy.
She had climbed up her favorite oak tree, her sanctuary. She was escaping from the frustrations of everyday life, the torments from the other children, and her cruel older sisters. But that was not the main reason for her visiting here, she also came to catch a glimpse of Heero. She fancied herself in love with him; even though she was only 9 and he was 11, and surely this infatuation was just that, an infatuation. And as usual, a few seconds later he appeared on his loyal pony. There was no mistaking Heero?s regal bearing or the shock of dark hair that tumbled across his brow, or the fact that he was the cutest boy you ever did see, and no doubt will turn into the most handsome man when he matured.
Relena rested her chin on her hand and sighed deeply, content to drink in the sight of him as he guided his pony down the treacherous terrain. He road passed here everyday, and she was here everyday to see him, but she never tired of this. Never tired to dream that one day he would look up and see her.
? Who could that be?? he would call out, ?could it be a fallen angel sent to me from the heavens?.
And she would reply, ?Tis only me, my lord, the fair lady Relena?.
And he would break into a tender smile and she would float down towards him. And he would take her into his arms, set her on top of his pony, and they would ride into town, basking under the proud smiles of her parents, the shocked gazes of the villagers, and the envious stares of her 2 older sisters.

?Look there?s Rellie in that tree, and they say pigs can?t fly? the taunts of the village children brought her from her blissful fantasy.
?Oh do leave her alone David,? laughed Dorothy, Relena?s 10 year old sister said, ?If you do, I might let you steal a kiss?
?Keep your lips to yourself wench? Slyvia sneered, Relena?s other sister, ?he?s already promised his kisses to me.?
?Why don?t you all go away, and leave me be? pleaded Relena, she just wanted to have a silent moment to herself.
? And what will you do if I don?t? Jump on me?? replied David.
Relena?s sister made half-hearted attempts to smother their giggles, while the rest of David?s little gang roared with laughter.
?You heard the lady, leave her alone? came an unfamiliar voice.
?And who the bloody hell are you to order me around like that? came the shout from the undignified David.
All eyes peered out into the woods in search of the source of the voice. Only Relena from her high perch could tell who her defender was, no other than he who was constantly on her mind.
Heero Yuy stepped out into the clearing, his cobalt blue eyes glared with hatred at David. Sylvia and Dorothy made incoherent noises and sighs.
? M-m-m lord, I-I didn?t realize it was you, please I mean n-no harm, forgive me sir? stammered David as he dropped to his knees
?I am not your lord yet?, Heero pointed out. ?But I will be someday, and I must warn you that I do not forgive and forget any injustices done to one of my own.?
Relena felt tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She pondered at the fact that their taunts could not make her cry, but his simple kindness had stirred her heart and brought her to tears.
?Yes my lord, thank you, I will never forget your warning?
Heero nodded and the little gang had cleared the clearing. ?Oh no they left me, here alone, with him?. Her nails dug into the bark, and her throat had gone horribly dry, and she suddenly had the strongest urge to pee, even though she had not drank anything all day.
?They?re gone now, you can come down?. He said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.
She dreaded to see the look of contempt that would mar his beautiful voice should he see her.
?Umm, no thank you, I feel rather comfortable up here. Yes, I have a nice view of the land here. Yes, look there?s the castle, and umm?oh I see a flock of geese.? ?Stop it Relena, your starting to blabber again?'
He sighed. ? Well you see, it isn?t everyday that I get the privilege of rescuing a damsel in distress, I should think that you?d want to thank me,? he said in a smug tone.
?Why all of the smug, highhanded arrogant fools out there, this one takes the cake.? She thought.
? Very well, thank you. There I said it, now if you would just kindly go your way?
Defying him obviously didn?t sit too well for the noble Heero, if he wanted to see her, then he would.
?I won?t budge. This is my land, therefore my tree. If you don?t come down, I?ll just go up to you?. He reached up towards a branch of the tree and prepared to climb.
Thinking of how fast his long and limber legs could carry him up the tree, Relena started to scramble higher and higher up. Big mistake. In her haste she forgot to test the branches to see if it would support her weight?it didn?t.
Crack?. Creak.
?Uh oh?
Her last coherent though, as she went plummeting towards the ground was ?please God, let me land on my head, and break my neck?. She shut her eyes tightly and awaited that bright light to bring her to heaven. ( A/N, we all know Relena would go to heaven?)
Hmph
Soft?she must have landed on a cloud, she timidly opened her eyes, but she did not see the clouds she imagined in front of heaven?s gate. Instead she saw that what she was on was the unconscious form of Heero, stretched out beneath her. His face was only inches away from hers.
His eyes were closed, dark lashes fanned out against the masculine curve of his tanned cheeks.
?My lord?? she whispered.
Nothing.
?Oh God, I-I-I killed him?
If only the fall could?ve killed her as well, and they would find their bodies together, united in death, as they had never been in life. She could no longer fight back the sorrow that was breaking her inside. She buried her face against his chest and let the misery pour forth.
?Are you alright, miss? came a smoky whisper.
Relena slowly lifter her head and found herself drowning into the depths of his open eyes. She quickly scrambled off him and answered
?I?ve bruised nothing but my pride. And you, are you hurt?
?Of course not, it would take much more than a child landing in my lap to harm a strong man such as myself.?
She would?ve laughed at his arrogance, had she not been so furious with it. ?Me a child?? Why I outa??
How dare this conceited boy?ugh, she had no words to express her anger.
He brushed off bits of dirt and leaves from his unruly hair and crisp shirt as he studied this little blond hair, blue eyed "fallen angel". She was a bit on the skinny side, and wasn?t beautiful in the classic sense. She was somewhat plain but with the potential to blossom into a glorious creature. And currently her mesmerizing eyes were glaring at him with the deepest loathing.
?I?ve seen you around haven?t I??. He addressed her, ?you?re the daughter of one of my fathers steward?.
?Yes that?s true?, she replied plainly, not wishing for him to know that she had pined for those days her father would take her to castle Sanq so that she may catch a glimpse of Heero play fighting with his friends, run around the great hall, or sneak up on his mother and plant a kiss on her cheeks.
?You have a younger sister, Hilde, I believe. I?ve met your two older sisters, quite annoying they are, always batting their lashes and wiggling the hips they don?t yet have.? He amused, ?you?re not like them?
?No I?m not, I?m ugly.?
He laughed.
She was expecting anything but his taunting laugh, not from this boy who had just told of those jerks. She couldn?t believe that she had once pined for this dashing boy, ? well I guess it?s true what they say, there really aren?t any gentlemen left?.
?You are really something. You don't think very highly of yourself. You, my dear, are definitely not ugly?hmm?a bit plain but you?ll soon turn into a graceful swan, after all you are still quite little? he assured her.
If only he had stopped before the remark of her age, she was so close to hugging him and thanking him for his compliment, but he blew it.
She drew herself up to her full four feet three inches and declared, ?Oh and I suppose that just because you live in a big castle and ride on that pretty pony, you fancy yourself a man.?
?I?ve still got some growing to do, like you? he caressed her golden hair drawing her nearer so that he may lean down and whisper ?but my father believes me man enough to escort a most revered guest to our castle?
?And who would this guest be, my lord? she asked in a sarcastic tone.
?That information is not something that I would reveal to a mere slip of a girl?.
Relena felt her heart pound faster and temperature rise, but it wasn?t out of love, oh no she was very very angry. She felt a vein in her forehead gain pressure.
?Then I?d better be on my way, so that you may go attend to you ever so manly duties.? She had to force the words out through clenched teeth.
?I could give you a hint? he called after her retreating form.
She refused to flatter him with a response and kept walking. Apparently he was too thick to realize her silent message for he called out again.
?He?s a true hero, a prince among men?
She wasn?t impressed.
?If they still give you trouble you?ll let me know, won?t you? his voice actually held concern.
Foraging for the last of her tattered dignity and pride she whipped around to face him.
?Is that a request or a command, my lord?, she sneered.
?Consider it a command for I will one day become you lord and master.
Never had anyone, not her sisters or David, evoked such feelings of spite from her as Heero Yuy did.
?And that is where you are wrong, Heero Yuy! No one shall ever be my lord or master!?
And with that said she turned around and marched towards home, missing the faint smile that played on his face and his whispered words.
?I wouldn?t be so sure of that, Miss Relena Dorlian?.

Um...so what do you think guys? Should i continue? sum feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks. again...forgive the mistakes, english is just not my subject. thanks.

:-? :) :D

This is great.
I thought I was the only one who enjoyed romance novels!

I have already read this book. Keep going.

(You shouldn't have stopped at the part where she goes back home tho. You should have stopped at her thoughts.

Keep it up.

Uwaaaaa! Fabulous!

Of course I want you to continue!

In fact, I plead with you to continue. :D

Wow, for such young kids they sure talk a lot of smack. In the old time-y sense, of course. Wish I was that adult at 9 and 11.....

Mmm....I didn't read the book but you sure got my attention on this one. And the Heero in the lake thing would of been fun but the falling down the tree part was cool

 This is awesome!!!.......I really like the idea of Dorothy and Sylvia being Relena's two 'evil' older sisters...they're all blonde after all but I'm not quite sure about Hilde being her younger sister though....I was actually thinking that she's Heero's younger sister..but anyways, Keep it up, I really like the way things are going as of now! :)
