I think that it was more like a school boy with his teacher but it could also be that he truly did love her...you never really get to know.
Peace out! :D

Oh yeah, it's not that my mom doesn't like the show...she doesn't like the violence that it uses to show the meaning behind it. I'm like...there were worse things than this on the news every day during that war with Iraq! And in all the other war movies that I've watched too! She just doesn't understand! I'm the only one in my house that likes anime...I get lonely a lot for someone to talk to about it but there is no one. Oh well, I have BI now so I'm happy!
Peace out! :D

What about you Tainted? What do you think? By the way, I think that's a spiffy name 'Tainted Donuts' :D

Kanya--you're alone in your anime? That sux! ^^ I feel sorry for you. Have you seen CCS or Fushigi Yugi or Inu-Yasha or anything? If so, please do tell! And what about you, Tainted?

Kuroneko! ...There's some little kid I know who just *refuses* to call him Kuroneko. It really grates on my nerves. *grits teeth, then sighs* Plus, his Japanese translator is really sucky, so I'm automatically wrong on something that the Japanese translator says is wrong. *rolls eyes* Newho.

No uptakes on the plushie comment?

I've seen Inuyasha...but I can't really keep up with it becuase my sister is always in there watching television...I ask her if I can watch ONE show at 11:30 and she's like, "No, I wanna watch television...and besides I don't like the stuff that you watch."
It really gets on my nerves...When she wants to watch something I'm always giving her the remote and letting her choose something...oh and today I tried actually talking about anime in front of my mom...Rurouni Kenshin was on and they had just shown Anji the Destroyer's past and how they had killed the children he had been taking care of and so I decided to try and be silly and I was using my fake crying voice saying, "Oh Mother, they killed the children! God save us all!"
She looked staright at me and said that I was sick and then went outside...she says that anime is making me get away from my family...but truly it's them. I mean...who would want to hang around people who persecute you and say you're sick for the things that you love. It really hurt me when she said that...I told my dad that I was just being silly and he said something about something being taken away when it had to do with dying children...I couldn't catch it because he doesn't talk very loud unless he's mad...I just wish that I could talk mare about it with my family. I don't have very many friends that like it either...most of them either detest anime or they are too involved in DBZ to really care about anything other than it. I know only two people that I can really talk to, but I don't know them very well at all...not enough to actually call them and talk about it and whatnot. Oh well, the prices that one must pay to be a fan. It's all worth it is all that I have to say.
Oh my...I shouldn't have talked that much...and all that was just because I was talking about Inuyasha...that little half-demon always gets me talking. Well, I haven't seen Fushugi Yugi and...what does CCS stand for?? Does that stand for that Card Captors show?? I can't remember the whole name...if it does stand for that then yes I have seen a little bit of that show...but I never got home in time from school to really watch it, I don't have much money so I can't buy it, and there isn't a video rental shop nearby that sells that kind of stuff. It really sucks sometimes. Well, gotta go! I have to clean up the mess that we made with the fireworks in the morning and I need to get my energy back. Seeee ya!
Peace out! :D

~_~ CCS stands for CardCaptor Sakura. And don't watch that horribly dubbed English version! *shudders* They like completely destroyed it trying to make it suitable for kids! Especially all the shounen ai >< Tori and Julian are supposed to be Touya and Yukito and in the series they like have a firm relationship near the end >< (Yeh know, Sakura's older brother and her crush that are best friends) *deep sigh* And Eriol Hiiragizawa--look up him. He's awesome! Evil, but awesome...

That sux about your parents. They seem kinda mean. I told my mom flat out "I think I'm becoming an addict, save me!" and she laughed and goes "You *are* an addict, Jess." Psssh, I hardly get to see my dad because my parents are divorced and he's a freaking Major Sergeant in the marines and he doesn't care. He doesn't really like anime himself (he's lenient toward Trigun, heh heh, I'm converting him) but he doesn't tell me it's "taking me away from your family". That's kinda harsh that your parents said that to you. It's like watching an ordinary cartoon, 'cept it's Japanese. Do they like the Matrix? If so, have they seen the Animatrix? The Animatrix has Japanese graphics in there, too...

Just stay cool and ignore 'em. They'll think you're going through some phase, just don't let them know that it bothers you because they'll keep on doing it until they squash all the anime out of you--they'll ruin it for you. Don't let that happen. XD You have us anime fans here.

So you think Vash's love for Rem was kinda a school-boy crush? My boyfriend says that, but I dunno. *frowns thoughtfully, brow furrowing* I think that it was kind of a son-to-mother love. I mean, he's so fond of her, ne? But it's like...*thinks of how to word it* It's like because Rem was his teacher in life, like his mother. And he has so much deep-rooted respect for her. And Knives hates her because he sees her as just another human because of the way he was treated by Steve. Then again, if you go on the whole basis that Knives wants Vash (wants him as more than a brother sorta) then you can say that Vash had a school-boy crush on Rem and that Knives was insanely jealous and...Whoa. Never really thought this hard on it. Mehhh x.x;; What do you think about Knives's feelings towards Vash? Is he doing it because he's lonely, or because he'll give no ends to get his brother alongside him, no matter how it's done? Or is it something deeper? Tainted? Kanya? Anyone else?

I don't really understand Knives at all...he assumes a lot about the human race just because of the mistakes that they mae on Earth and then it is provoked more by the behavior of Steve and it just screws up his head. Well, I don't think that it really has anything to do with loneliness or having his brother beside him...I remember Brad, that dude from that ship, saying that if Vash was able to use that arm of his that made him stronger than Knives and I think that the reason Knives is so persistant is because of the fact that he's scrared. Of course, Vash did shoot half of Knives's body off in July...I think, so maybe this is all just revenge...like I said I don't really understand the whole situation between them.
Thanks for the support with the whole parents thing...I don't know why my parents are so icky about it...but I'm definitely not going to ever let them squish the anime lover out of me! No way! It would take years and years to do it...and I'm not saying that it would actually work either! I'm just going to spend a lot of time on here but then I'll spend time with them too...I'll just keep their noses out of here and out of my room. I'll watch my DVD's and whatnot while they're asleep or while they're gone! That's right! Well, I gotta go! Seeee ya!
Peace out! :D

You're welcome. Good idea about the DVDs ^^ Wish I had one of those in my room. My PS2 is good enough though, ne?

Hm...He does assume a lot about the human race, you're right. But he didn't really seem upset about it, just curious like Vash, until Steve began calling them monsters and beating them up. And if you really delve deeper into it, you can remember when Vash was crying and Knives found him in the no-gravity room and asked him if he was crying and if he was all right? Knives is always looking out for Vash when they're a year old, and he's always defending his brother. But then Vash is showing his affections for Rem more and more as they go and the two begin to somewhat split apart. I think Knives instinctively doesn't like Rem because she's taking his brother away. His brother is the only one that can feel the way he does, and thus Rem's presence threatens him about taking Vash away. Plus, add in the whole ordeal about Knives disliking humans more and more as he grows, and you can see another point of why Knives doesn't trust Rem.

Then, Rem is teaching Vash about the good things in life, as well as Knives. But Knives, who is being treated horribly by Steve like Vash is, is spending more time away from Rem, and thus misses out on a lot of her preachings. So while Vash is finding it in his heart to forgive everyone, Knives isn't, and his views are growing darker and darker the more the abuse continues and the more his views on the threat of Rem taking Vash away grows.

Take the classic butterfly scene for example. That's when the two REALLY begin to realize how different they are becoming, how the two are separating. It's not the haircut--that's a start--but it's the different views of the two now. Vash wants to save them both, but Knives thinks you can only save one, because either way, it's the harsh reality of life. And this is used as a metaphor later when the spiders (humans) and the butterflies (the plants) come into play.

Knives loves his brother. He was going to take Rem with them just to make Vash happy, but Rem went and sacrificed her life for the other humans. So now Vash is sad, but Knives feels he can take of that, because he didn't really care for Rem in the end, anyway. So maybe the reason he is in such pursuit after Vash during the whole series (it really comes into play in the last half) is because he wants his brother back. He wants to vanquish the line that separates him and tries to make Vash understand that the spiders half to go, and that in the end, only the butterflies can survive. And perhaps you're right--Knives, if you think about it, is wholely and utterly scared. He'll do anything to get his brother back because he doesn't want to be alone. Vash is his other half, the only one that can possibly understand Knives, and Knives feels threatened by the humans. In his eyes, they're all the same, and he thinks they're poisoning Vash's mind. And he wants his brother back so he can eliminate them and the two can have their eternal paradise. Plus, the spiders are using up their brethren for energy. So more than Knives and Vash are being threatened. Knives is scared of being wiped out and dying alone and yet at the same time he has this burning hatred for humankind. So his first true goal is to get this brother back so he won't be alone anymore and he'll have the other half of his soul back. And then he can dispose of humankind and the two can live happily ever after with their brethren in an eternal paradise of sorts.

Whew...*breathes* ^^o What do you think?

>< Aheh heh heh heh...I wonder how many people agree with me on that one...

Another question. How do you feel about VashxMeryl? Do you think it can work out? Or does it have its downpoints because she resembles Rem so strongly--and their obvious age difference and problems.

I love MerylxVash! I agree with is so much! BUt you have to take those small things to account too...he's like 100 years older than her and will probably live for even longer...maybe even forever. Geez, that's a scary thought. But I think that with love it doesn't matter how old you are or how you resemble an earlier love or if one's gonna die and the other's gonna live. All that matters truly are the feelings that they share with one another. It definitely has it's problems but it isn't impossible.
What do you think about WolfwoodxMilly? Even though he does die :cry: sorry if I spoiled it for anyone...but...okay. I love that pairing too...OMG...I'm sorry but what if...OMG...idea just popped into my head...teehee. Picture Heero and Milly together...OMG that would be funny!
OKAY, just got really off topic there! Oh well, like I said I really like WolfwoodxMilly. When she was crying after he died...I just had to shed tears too because I mean...come on! It was SOOOOO sad! There is no way that anyone couldn't shed at least one tear or at least have your eyes water for a little while after hearing her cry! If they did then they're pretty cold. Well, gotta go!
Peace out! :D
