Why hello there!

Post by MissMoxie »

My name is Liz aka Moxie. I am (obviously) new. I'm 23, but at one time I was 14 and when that was true, I wrote some really deliciously awful GW songfic under the name Desi Sky (don't look it up unless you want your eyes to bleed).

At that time, I was also the owner/admin of the third largest GW RPG on Yahoo Groups where I played Relena as well as a variety of original characters.

Recently, I had the urge to revisit puberty and popped in my DVDs and fell in love all over again, so here I am!

Pleased to meet y'all and finally be able to post! I've been batting around the idea of some new fanfic (hopefully some that's a lot better than my last batch). Right now I'm just about in love with any variety of historical AUs, so any suggestions of those would make my lifetime since I've blown through most of the ones I can find.

Hiya.

Can't say I've read your fic, but I might look it up sometime (I'm really picky on Songfics, though--I like music a lot and sometimes don't like it when a song's stretched to fit the scenario).

I did the same thing just three weeks ago (rewatched the entire series + Endless Waltz, though I don't have any of the mangas to read, I wiki'd them :P). It's an amazingly good series to watch even now, with the sole exception of the fact that everyone seems to have a tendency to close their eyes and say "Hm," at times. This is especially true in Endless Waltz. :P

There's the Occam's Razor ongoing series, and I believe there's another one I've read that I can't recall the series name.. I wish I did. I'll check around!
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. ? Bilbo Baggins.

No really, trust me, you do not want to read that fanfic. It's absolutely terrible. I can't even read it anymore. It is THAT bad.

Actually, the "Hm" thing doesn't bother me as much as it should, I know. What DOES bother me now is the fact that everyone is underaged. I feel a little pervy sometimes, thankfully in 90% of fanfic they're over 18. The characters were a lot sexier when I was 14, let me tell you.

I shall be forced to look into Occam's Razor then. So far the only ongoing series I've found is a retelling of Robin Hood and it's not an AU (so not All Along the Watchtower, which I also read). It's exceptionally good so far, but I've only seen it on FF.net.

Hello Moxie and welcome to BI!

I have to say I love your Location.... And the words "your mom" always work! Unless you're at a funeral or something and someone says, "*sniff* Yes, thank you. She was quite good at that." and someone else says right after, "Yeah, so was your mom!" Then one would have to run for the door. And possibly a new zip code.

Yay for new fanfic! If only I could get bit by the writing bug again and either finish what I started so long ago or at the very least pop out a few one shots. As for historical AU's that's a toughie. Depends on where and what era you prefer so if/when you have the time, let us know and we'll be happy to toss ideas your way.

Anywhoo I don't know why I'm not in bed since I have to pull a double today but whatever! Again, welcome and we hope you enjoy your stay!

P.S. Don't forget to join the Love Reflection group on Yahoo. If you have a Live Journal, there's a couple of communities dedicated to either 1xR, the before mentioned Yahoo group, and stuff. Yeah....

See, the thing is I have no real preference for time period or anything. I have no idea why, I've just been having this weird fascination with the same characters through various time periods. Maybe I just like the formulaic aspect, I dunno.

Thanks for letting me know about the groups. I wasn't sure if there was anyplace left that was still active so I'll check them out. Definitely LJ anyway. I've been meaning to start a new account for fandoms anyway. :)

Well, my personal favorite historical AU would have to be Seduction and its sequel Captivation. The setting is 18th (IIRC) century England and starts off with a bet by Dorothy Catalonia that one Lord Heero Yuy can woo the returning from China Relena before Treize does. Naturally, being written by KMF it gets a lot more involved than just that one plot line.

Oh I love that one! It got me right started on this obsession with AUs!

I was rather saddened to discover that Across Enemy Lines wasn't ever finished. I was forced to make someone else read the end for me to tell me if it finished or not so I could prep myself. Also, the one where Hilde and Duo are bounty hunters. I forget the name, but it was disappointingly unfinished as well (although I'm quite glad there was a lemon in there before it ended...I am so easy to please).
