Notes: First FMA ficlet.. I really haven't seen enough but I'm just going to try with this one. Not particularly set at any time during the anime.

Riza Pov


Its night now, quiet and calm without any clouds marring the black-violet sky. It is the time that I get to think a little.

People look at me as being cold, heartless, completely without feelings. They mistake my allegiance to Col. Mustang for obsession. Others believe that I'm there because I'm addicted to power. I have to admit, he is powerful. He is the Flame Alchemist while the only thing I am really famous for is for my marksmanship. I don't have any alchemy power.

That is not what truly attracts me to him. Even though he is a flirt and his idea to have all female officers wear skirts if he is Fuhrer annoys me, he truly wants to make this world a better place. Part of me is skeptical about this; there will always be wars and people as a whole truly don't desire peace but there has to be something better than this. If it just means a truce with the Ishbalans, its okay. I'm truly not sure but I trust Roy.

I slip off of the window seat and prepare for bed. Tomorrow will be yet another long day of meetings and plans for movement. But I go to bed secure in my mission.
