Chapter 4
What on Earth?

Relena grabbed the phone as quickly as she could with Heero slumped on the bed asleep. Dialing for Pagan turned out harder than she realized as her shaking fingers slipped repeatedly. "Damnit, Relena." Cursing her self, she took a deep breath and dialed more slowly. Four rings and still no answer from her trusted butler. 'Stupid, he's probably outside with the others.' Not wanting to leave Heero for fear it was just a dream, she sat back down with him.
Looking back at his clothes she frowned. 'Funny, they look pretty new. But the design is just, strange...' His belt had a dagger and sheath for it. Taking it out she found strange writing engraved in the blade. "Where have you been, Heero?"

Duo POV
Still chasing the intruder through the woods, he jumped over several logs and ducked under bramble with Trowa. "Jeez, does this girl ever quit?"
"Duo, I'll try and get ahead of her, you grab her when she comes back this way."
Panting he stopped. "Good idea, you, go on ahead." Finding a decent tree, Duo hopped up and waited for them to circle back.
The other guards finally showed up, so Duo told them to hide too. 'Damn fools, need an order for everything.'Trowa and the assailant came back through the brush in no time. Jumping down from the branch would have worked, if it hadn't snapped under his weight. The girl, surprised enough to pause briefly, was tackled by Trowa. Salving his wounded pride, Duo took a better look at the girl and froze. "Trowa?"
"*grunt* Yeah, what?" Busy cuffing her as she nearly turned inside out writhing under his hold.
"Remember what I said back at the hospital? About a girl?" Paling as he got a another good look at her.
"Just spill it Duo!" Trowa snapped, for once losing his cool as he stood up to glare at the braided bakka, then seeing his face, stopped.
"It's the same one."
He paused for a moment, gathering his thoughts. Looking down, baleful blue eyes stared right back at him. Trowa turned two shades of white. "... Good God."

At the house
"Zechs, Trowa and Duo called in. They got the intruder," Quatre stated, relaxing slightly.
"About time." Looking from the car to the water fountain, which was by no means a small distance between the two, Noin, Zechs and the others waited as Duo and Trowa made their way back through the woods with the trussed captive. "Pagan, go on back to the house. We caught the perpetraitor. Take a couple preventors and check on Relena." Nodding quietly, he left with two of the trainees. "Noin, go with him. There's not much left to do."
"I can't believe she cleared that distance. It was at least 20 feet," Noin murmered in Zech's ear as she followed Pagan into the house. Wufei took Noin's place next to Zechs. Wufei was closest as they approached. "What kept you? She's just a woman..." At this point he blanched as they walked her into the front porch lights.
Same as before with Trowa, the prisoner glared at them all coldly with those intense blue eyes as Trowa sat her down on a hood of a car. Zechs was speechless, and Quatre exclaimed, shocked. Duo handed her weapons over to one of the guards as he gingerly sat on the base of the fountain. "Oh, I'm fine by the way. Just fine, no broken bones...I think." Grimacing slightly, he added, "Told you so, by the way. Told you she looked like him."
Slowly fumbling with the cuffs steadily, the girl was not drawing attention to herself. As her captors all started to relax in the idea of a job well done, she was readying her next escape attempt.
"Why was she going for the woods?" Trowa asked, staring at the tree-line. "There's no city for miles."
"Hey, she probably was thinkin' 'To the hills!' I don't know. All I have to say is that if she kicks me again I'll... I'm tired, let's just get her to Preventor HQ." Duo yawned.
Everyone's attention was on Trowa, giving the girl the chance to break away. Rolling out of the way to her feet she bolted. Wufei was the first to recover and was after her in a shot. Skidding to a stop before she collided with him, they both were at a stand-still. Her wrist were raw from her struggling. The cuffs snapped in half as she gave one final yank. The others waited, giving them space. Quatre readied one gun as they watched them face one another ready for anything.
Breaking the stand-still, the girl attacked. Wufei dodged her kick and gave her a couple of his own. She effortlessly evaded them and delivered a very smooth, very effective blow that had him propelled right into Duo and Trowa's arms. Surprised more than anything, Wufei struggled to get up as she ran towards the trees.
*BLAM!*
The tranquilizer hit her in the back of the shoulder. Quatre reloaded and aimed at her again, just in case, but she staggered slightly and dropped. "We better get her taken care of."
"I'll say! Shit, she nearly cleaned Wufei's clock with that punch." Duo stammered. Trowa directed the guards to carry her to the house.
Wufei grumbled as he stood, dusting himself off. "Not bad, for a woman," he remarked.
Soon after, Noin came running from the house, grinning from ear to ear. "You will NOT, believe who's here!"
"Elvis?" Duo quipped.
Breathlessly, Noin bowed over her knees, "Better... Heero, he's back- I mean, he's back."

Zechs and Noin opened the doors and had them place her in the cellar for the time being. Her long brown hair fell over her face, adding a sense of innocence to an already proven warrior's face.
"She looks just like him..."Quatre murmered quietly as they locked her in.
"Same attitude, that's for sure." Duo joked.
"Where's Relena?" Zechs asked as Pagan offered all of them coffee.
"Why, she's still in her room with Heero."
'But the doctor...' "Wufei, find the doctor that worked on Heero, detain her for questioning."
As Wufei left, Trowa got up and set his coffee cup back on the tray. " I'm going to check the perimeter. There may have been more than one."
"I'll go with. You may need some help," Quatre added as he also set the cup on the table. "I'll take a couple preventors with just in case."
"Well, have fun..." Duo scratched his forehead as he sat up. "If you all don't mind, I'm gonna find a quiet room to nap in til 'sleeping beauty' wakes up."
Noin and Zechs sent the remainder of the officers home for the night. When they left and Pagan returned to his own room, Zechs sat in the nearest chair and held his head in his hands. Noin walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. "You should rest too, Zechs. Since Heero went missing, you haven't slept a wink."
Smiling slightly as he leaned against her, "Nag."
Returning his half hearted smile, they sat there in the living room for a long time, just enjoying the peace and quiet.

Heero
...'Now what?' Heero stifled a small groan as he sat up from the bed. The nausea from before had lessoned some what. The floor only hovered slightly as he sat straighter still. He was in Relena's room, and dawn was encroaching on the tree tops outside the window. Looking around he did a double take as he spotted Relena, on the bed opposite of where he was sitting, dead asleep. In the growing light she looked gaunt in her blue satin nightgown. She had some sort of silver wrap hugging her slender shoulders. Despite her thinner frame, she was as beautiful as he had seen her last. 'Which was when?' he thought as he recalled her shocked expression from the night before.
As he watched, she shrugged into the wrap more fully, which pulled on the clasp at his neck, drawing his attention to his clothes. the shawl was a cloak he was wearing, along with strange clothes. He had never taken much interest in these things, but he could tell they were tailor made; formed to fit, and they looked damn expensive. The Embroidered collar at his neck didn't scratch as he thought it would The shirt was some sort of silk, a silverish blue, the embroidery was a pale yellow gold. An dark green over jacket that was equally impressive covered that, and his pants were green as well, which tapered down to tall brown-green leather boots. His belt was so intricately wrapped in small gem stones in similar hew and pale gold wire, he thought it would fray with his touch.
Unhooking the shoulder clasp, the cloak draped over her left shoulder more fully as he stood up shakily. He wasn't as weak as he felt, but that didn't help his nerves. If he had been anywhere with this odd outfit, he couldn't remember. The only thing he could recall after seeing Relena was an odd song and flits of images that made his head ache. Rubbing his eyes tiredly, he walked to the window, watching as slowly the world awoke to another day.
