Trials and Tribulations

Ok, this is the first fanfiction that I have written and posted, and its for bleach. I figured that i would post it here and see what the response is before i go to fanfiction.net. I just know you guys better than there. Please feel free to give constructive criticism, just dont be mean. I have low tolerance for that sort of thing. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy it!


Prologue

Ichigo was drunk that night. It was rather amusing if not downright comical. However, Rukia was more annoyed than anything else. Somehow she was left with the responsibility of taking care of him. She swore to kill Keigo the next chance she got.

Rukia still lived in Ichigo?s closet, but it was a quite different closet. Ichigo had moved out of his father?s home three months ago, after he graduated. Naturally, Rukia went with him. Though, if she knew that she would have to deal with these sorts of situations by herself she would have reconsidered.

?Rukia, I?m back? Ichigo called as he walked, or stumbled through the door.

?Oh, good. I?ve been getting a message from ? what is wrong with you?? Rukia stared at her bright-haired companion who was tripping over his own pant legs and giggling about it.

?I think I?m drunk.? Ichigo grinned ridiculously, his eyes going in and out of focus. ?You see, Keigo had some sake that he stole from his parents ?stash?, and he said ?Come on Ichigo, let?s play a drinking game.? And I said no, oh yeah, Chad and Ishida were there too. So he kept asking?? Ichigo babbled while leaning dangerously on an unstable chair.

Rukia shook her head. She never thought that Ichigo of all people would act so disoriented. ?Okay, Ichigo, how about you go to bed and you can tell me in the morning??

Ichigo stopped mid-sentence and blinked. ?Okay.? With that, Rukia helped him to his bed. His weight nearly overpowered her, but somehow she managed. He mumbled randomly, but was too incoherent for Rukia to understand. So she simply nodded and replied ?Mmhm, ok.? Her patience was beginning to wear thin, since he insisted on stopping them every few seconds to tell her something ?important.?

Just as Ichigo was settling in the bed, he pulled Rukia on top of him. ?You know, you?re really attractive sometimes.? Rukia felt heat running into her cheeks.

?Ichigo? uhh? you? need to rest.? She began to pull away but Ichigo tightened his grip around her waist. Before she could do anything, Ichigo had his mouth clasped over hers, and somehow they had switched positions with him on top.

Once the shock wore off, Rukia tried to push him away. However, though drunk, Ichigo was still rather strong. His breath smelled terrible, and Rukia was in desperate need for air. This was not how she pictured kissing Ichigo for the first time.

Rukia had admitted to herself a long time ago that she had feelings for her partner. There was a high possibility that she was in love with him, but she didn?t want to jump to conclusions. It had started with trust. She had told Hanatarou that she completely trusted Ichigo, though she had only knew him for a couple of months at that time. Thus she suspected that she would develop something more that respect for him over a few years. In any case, she never dared to tell anyone, much less Ichigo, about these feelings. Besides, she was satisfied with it all being a secret. It was simpler that way.

Ichigo?s hands began to roam, which only fueled Rukia?s determination to get him off her. Though, Rukia didn?t completely object to the feeling of him touching her. He moved his lips to her neck, leaving a trail of wet kisses as he went.

The dark haired shinigami tried her best not to give in, but everyone slips. She closed her eyes to relish in the feeling. Their bodies pressed together, enveloped in a passionate embrace? it was a step away from a fantasy. Rukia began to respond by nuzzling his shoulder and kissing his face. It was perfect. Exactly how she had imagined being intimate with some one would be like. Accept for one thing. Ichigo was drunk.

Her eyes shot open. She noticed that his grip had relaxed since she stopped struggling; she took the opportunity. With one strong shove, Rukia succeeded in removing Ichigo. As she sat up to get away, once again Ichigo grabbed her waist. However his grip wasn?t very strong. Rukia looked behind her; he was passed out.

?Thank God,? Rukia sighed with relief. ?This is going to be a long night.? She spent the rest of the night making sure that Ichigo didn?t end up choking himself.

He would regret this in the morning.

Well, if you're posting it here to see what the reaction is Before posting it to fanfiction.net, you're practically a perfectionist compared.

Fanfiction.net is a kind of a hit-or-miss place for fiction of any kind, and in my opinion blissfulignorance has way better fanfiction to offer than ff.net. But it is infinitely more popular. If it's fame and fortune you want you probably won't find it there, but it's your choice.

Now I'm baffled. I'm not sure I'll be of much help after all, because you're suggesting on a future the canon hasn't given a yes or no on yet. Like I said I haven't yet finished reading the scanlations fully so I don't know what happens after Soul Society. You'd have to tell me. : )

Now the idea of Rukia living in Ichigo's closet is charming to the core, but why does she bother if Ichigo's moved out already?

No complaints about the text, with that skill you're already way better than most on ff.net. Have you seen the absolute sh*t people churn out to fill up the whole site? Internet ego is a horrendous thing. (Of course, there are exceptions, which make the site good, sometimes brilliant.) You're also probably way better than me so I won't start correcting things I'd write differently. A few errors here and there are acceptable to all except the most biyatchy ficbiyatches.

Rukia's pretty much in character and Ichigo is drunk, so he's not his normal self. I see you've made him a happy drunk, though. Might work as a nice contrast to that constant frown. : ) Although, I'm sure the morning after will be hell to poor Rukia.

It's the first chapter so there's not much I can say about the overall plot yet, but it has promise and I'll be left waiting for the continuation.

What can I say? Write more. Yes, write more.

More like wanting a good genuine opinion. But kinda a perfectionist too.

Ok this fic is more or less a series of connecting oneshots, *I really stink at good plot lines* and the more chapters i post more things will be explained, that above included.

Like in the answer above, things will get explained so you should probably read as far as you can in the manga before reading more chapters. I have read some even more farfetched things from ppl predicting the future of bleach characters. I'm going to try to keep mine as close to what would probably happen.

Oh, my pleasure. I liked the fic and I'll probably get back to reading the rest of the scanlated manga as soon as my significant other is at his comp and can send me the rest. He's sitting beside me at the moment.

As a kinda spoiler, I HAVE heard that Rukia would actually stay in Soul Society after she's saved and everyone's happy, but as I don't know I won't go into it any further.

But write more. Gnarh. : )

*looks around* HELLO? Is this fic dead? Cause it's really good and I haven't found the continuation of it. I agree wtih _sigil here, this is a really great fic and I hope you continue it.

yeah, its kinda on its last line, but i haven't pulled the pug yet. i just cant think of any new clever ideas for ichigo and rukia. but when something does come to i will write it. I promise. and hopefully that will be soon.
