Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Intoxicated. ^^;

DUI is basically driving with any sort of alcohol content in your blood-- even if you only had half a glass of wine. If it registers, it's a DUI.

DWI is driving while legally intoxicated-- meaning the amount of alcohol content in your blood has reached a certain percantage. I forget what exactly that percentage is, but it means you're fairly drunk.

Whaaa? Nah-uh. From what I learned the DWI pertained to drugs. Well, at least that's what I heard from that pothead friend of mine...hmm. He could perhaps have been high.

Is that how it is? o.o There's a fairly good chance I'm wrong. I usually am. I know we have a zero-tolerance policy with drinking and driving, but there's a more severe punishment when you have a certain percentage of blood-alcohol content.

DWI could be driving while intoxicated... by cough syrup. ^^

DWI is an acronym for ?Driving While Intoxicated? which is prohibited by New Jersey Law (NJSA 39:4-50). DUI is a synonymous acronym, standing for ?Driving Under The Influence.? DWI and DUI are terms that describe the same offense in New Jersey (ie, there is no difference between the two).
