Chibi-Wizards is a series I?ve been working on for a couple of years, but I intend to draw it ?not write it out? However, before I draw them, I do put them down on paper so I can see what to draw next. This particular mini-adventure may end up in my ?final cuts? of the series, but I don?t know at this point. Currently, it's just a fanfic written by one of the only fans of the series...the creator. (That would be me.) I feel slightly vain doing so, but hey! Someone has to like them, right?
Characters:
CK Angelon ?The main character. He?s a 13 year old boy with brown hair that sticks straight up with three prongs. CK can control plasma (lightning), but his main focus is on being a dragon tamer: one who trains dragons to fight for humanity under his control.
Yuri Sonnet (son-ay) ?The secondary main character. At 13 years old, as well, she is sarcastic and lonely, but won?t let anyone close to her. Her elemental power lies in Spring-things such as butterflies, warm winds, and flower petals.
Rhett ? He is CK?s best friend who does nothing but joke around. He controls the element fire.
Chase ? A boy who doesn?t give much information out about himself, but is very intelligent. He prides himself on knowing all the facts at all times ?and loves to flirt with girls. Chase can control the elements darkness and light; his goal is invisibility.
Krys ? The shyest member among the five, she controls the elements of water and ice.
Lexar ?He was CK?s first dragon to tame who now travels with him just about everywhere on his adventures. Lexar?s a bit of a scaredy-cat, though... His specialty is showing up ?just in time!? He cannot speak, but CK has conversations with him often.

I chained her to a tree. I don't know why, though.
In a sea of frigid white were five tiny dots moving slowly in a line, one behind the next. They sloshed against the fearlessly icy wind in their matching brown and faux-fur lined coats through heavy packs of blinding snow. Apparently, they were searching for something with no luck on their sides.
The leader, a young teenage boy with wild hair, appeared ecstatic as he headed the group, looking first left, then right, back, and then returning his gaze to forward as often as he thought to ?which seemed to be quite often. Enthusiasm lit up his bright green eyes; he was sure this was the spot. They were finally close ?even if they were lost. ?Ah-ha!? The young boy broke the silence among the five, ?Antarctica? A likely place for an ice orb. Very likely indeed.? He placed his thumb and pointer finger calculatingly on his chin, attempting to look sophisticated by his own standards. He grinned, pleased with himself.
The girl behind him, however, perhaps being only an inch or so shorter, rolled her hazel eyes as her short out-curled blonde hair shook with her words, ?What a marvelous and brilliant deduction, Sherlock.?
The boy stopped cold in his tracks, all traces of pride replaced with a disgruntled frown. He blinked once, twice, then three times in immediate succession. Behind him, the girl did not stop, but instead walked past him, nose firmly implanted into the air.
One slit peered sarcastically at him, ?You got anymore amazing snippets of intellect to share with us??
?Shut up, Yuri.? His once enthusiastic eyes were hardly recognizable beneath caramel furrowed eye brows. He crossed his arms indignantly, ?You?re just ticked off because your Mount Everest didn?t pan out.?
Yuri ignored him thinking herself too high above him to dignify the boy with a response, but she did stop walking as she realized she had no clue where she was going. Of course, not willing to admit or show any traces of such thoughts, a fake yawn escaped her lips as she turned around to face the now cross boy who was stepping closer to her, a smug look on his face.
He balled his gloved hand into a fist and held it beneath his own mouth as though it was a microphone, ?And today on ?World?s Biggest Idiots,? I, your host, CK Angelon,? he turned his head, nodding to an imaginary camera with a snobbish grin, ?have here today the lovely, but not so bright, Yuri Sonnet.? His head jerked back to gaze at the smaller blond, and he took a step towards her as she stared at him incredulously. ?Tell me ?tell us all-what?s it like to be such a-? he paused for a moment trying to figure out a more loaded way of asking his question. ?On a scale of one to ten, one being lowest, how much does it suck to be wrong on everything?? His right eyebrow now raised, he held out his hand beneath Yuri?s mouth, awaiting her answer.
She scoffed and slapped his hand away, ?YOU?RE the idiot, CK, not me. It?s not a contest to see who?s more right; we?re out here to find the orb, and that?s it. You act like you?re 5. Grow up.?
?At least I?m old and smart enough to be potty trained. You act like you were born yesterday ?at best.?
Yuri?s eyes became thinner, ?Well, you act like-?
?Alright, alright, alright!? Another boy ?the third in line- scuffled up between the two arguing adolescents. His prickly auburn hair didn?t even budge as the wind blew by as hard as ever, ?You two need to chill out. This is ridiculous; all you do is argue! You?d think you were boyfriend and girlfriend the way you interact.? Yuri rolled her eyes and CK pouted disappointedly; things were just getting interesting in his opinion. The boy took his right arm and put it around CK?s shoulders, then did the same with his left and pulled Yuri closer. He smiled as he tugged on both of his friends, ?You know Rhett always knows best. When was the last time I ever steered you wrong??
CK looked thoughtful, ?Well?? he trailed off.
?Yesterday.? Yuri threw off Rhett?s arm, shoving him into CK, ?Get off.? Melodramatically, Rhett?s lower lip quivered as he clung closely to his best friend for comfort. ?And I wouldn?t go out with CK if we were the last two humans on Earth ?not even for the sake of ?species preservation,? Chase.? Not even giving him a passing glance, she pre-empted his words as a tidily black-haired boy snuck up behind her. He frowned, then shook his head obviously confused beyond all reason how someone could not take such a subject with grave seriousness.
?What?s your problem, Yuri?? CK didn?t care anymore as he pried Rhett off his body; it was the only conclusion he could think of ?and in any case, he kinda? liked it when she was mad. He smirked, ?You like me, don?t you? You?re usually rude, of course, but today is? well, it?s extreme ?even for you. You must be jealous of another girl who likes me.?
The blonde cocked her head and twitched in fury, but said nothing. It didn?t appear as though she could think of anything to say in response.
?You want me to kiss you, is that it?? CK grinned.
?That?s enough,? a quiet voice was barely heard above the whooshing sounds of the wind around them. Long, hardly wavy chocolate hair and lilac eyes made their way through the group of four students now standing in a circle on a tiny and frail looking body; she walked calmly towards Yuri and stood beside her. ?I know she may have started it, CK,? a scoff from the girl behind her interrupted her, but she ignored it, ?but that?s no reason to ask a question like that. It?s none of your business. Besides, it?s not going to help us complete our objective.?
CK?s brows furrowed again, ?I have every right to ask it. It?s me she likes, after all. She?s holding everyone up with her obvious crush.?
?That?s not how a girl crushes.? Chase spoke for the first time matter-of-factly, ?They swoon.?
Both Krys and Yuri rolled their eyes. ?You?re dreaming, CK,? the blonde girl retorted.
The leader of the five shoved his hands in his coat?s pockets and kicked some snow, ?At least I?m honest about it.? He turned around, ignoring Yuri?s questioning gaze, and looked at the compacted snowy walls all around them. There were only two ways to go: either forward and onward, or backwards from where they?d come. He only saw one of those options as viable, ?Come on, everyone. We?ve gotta? get that thing for ?why do we have to get it again??
?Mistress didn?t explain it very well, I?m afraid,? Krys chimed in. ?She just said it was key to my progress. I don?t even know what it does.?
?Well, that?s good,? he sulked in response. ?We have no motivation.?
?We don?t need motivation.? Chase walked out ahead of CK and stared at the white unending path before them, ?We have our orders and we follow them, simple as that. Let?s hurry up; it?s cold out here.?
?Right,? CK again took the lead of the group and pressed on. He had taken a few steps when he heard a sickening crack; he stopped and turned around to his group members. ?Did you hear that??
Crack.
The five of them scurried to be close to one another as they looked around frantically. Calmer than any of them were thinking, Chase confirmed, ?We?re on snow-covered ice.?
Rhett turned to Krys, ?DO something!?
?I don?t know what to do! I can?t control something this big! If it breaks, it breaks; the most I can do is keep this piece together so we don?t end up all bloody and??
CK interrupted her, ?You?d better get started then.? Only a few yards ahead of them, a huge fracture was making its way to where they were. ?We can?t go back; the orb is this way. You can tell by the wind.?
?It could just be a blizzard,? Yuri offered.
?A blizzard has snow,? Chase corrected. ?Everyone be quiet; we could cause an avalanche.?
Rhett frowned, ?You?re paranoid.? But as if on cue, there was a loud poof above their heads, and they all turned in time to see a massive snow-cloud toppling everything in its path also headed straight for them. He screamed, ?What are we supposed to do NOW?!?
Before his question was answered, the block of ice beneath them gave way, and the five of them were suddenly falling into unending blackness away from a light which quickly disappeared. Yet as soon as it was gone, another light was found on the block of ice; it had no origin.
?That?s cool, Chase.? Rhett said quite calmly.
Snow was falling just above them now, but some of it started to fall faster. Without warning, a dome was created atop the ice and was hardening at the behest of Krys, but it hadn't helped all that much. The five of them were still falling fast and gaining speed with no end in sight.
?That?s cool, too.? Rhett was impressed as he leaned calmly against the wall of snowy-ice protecting them. ?So now, we?re only going to die pancakes together, not apart. That?s wonderful.? Five pairs of eyeballs wandered from each member in the group to the next. ?Why can?t any of us fly?!?
None of them knew what happened next; there a flash of sage and shattering of the ice and five screaming children?but it was familiar.
?Lexar?? CK asked, but he already knew. ?You?re late.? He smacked the top of the dragon?s head. ?I called you forever ago!?
The dragon said nothing, but CK continued as though they were having a conversation. ?I don?t care if you were scared. When I call, you come! ?Now, where are we going??
Lexar hovered just out of range of where the snow was toppling in to the massive cave, and the now group of six watched it silently. CK interrupted all of their thoughts and turned around on the dragon to face his comrades, ?Hey, Chase. You think you can make that any brighter? Lexar can?t hardly see.?
?I can try.? The light that was only just barely around the dragon spread out several meters farther beyond, but still nothing but emptiness was visible. ?I still don?t see anything.?
?Try flying down, Lexar,? CK commanded. Silently the dragon obeyed, ?I am your master, so technically, you are my slave.? CK added indignantly.
The other four children on the dragon?s back sat quietly as they listened to the one-sided argument. It had become common-place by now.
?I don?t treat you horribly!? Silence. ?No, I don?t,? he affirmed solemnly, ?and you?re not supposed to be questioning my orders unless they?re evil, anyway. Did I order you to do something evil?? Silence again. ?That?s right. So quit questioning and keep flying. ?And yeah, that?s fine. You can have a day in the hot-tub once we get back.?
As Lexar flew smoothly throughout the dark abyss, there was suddenly something in sight. A deep and lush green, for lack of a better word, oasis with brilliant blue water became clearer and clearer to them all.
?What?s that?? Krys asked quietly to herself, but all the others as well.
?I don?t know,? CK responded absent-mindedly. ?Lexar, go down there??
At a decently fast pace, Lexar landed softly just in front of the clear blue waters and allowed the five teens to get off.
?Where are we?? Yuri?s question seemed to go on forever as it echoed throughout the hollow cave. Butterflies out of no-where flocked to her exciting a rare giggle from the sarcastic young girl.
CK smiled at her, ?What do they want??
She didn?t pay attention to his affectionate gaze, ?I don?t know? I?ve never had any act this way before. Maybe they want us to follow them?? She turned to look at him, then frowned at his _expression. ?What??
?Nothing.? His smile died and he turned to the others behind him. ?Let?s go then.?
Rhett came reluctantly away from the water and tackled Chase from behind, ?I?m not cold anymore!! ?Thank you, you stupid hole in the cealing!!?
?Cut it out,? Chase swatted at the boy on his back behind him. ?Do you see that?? He was staring at a bright white glow emitted from a cave just ahead of them. Inside it were white flurries that remarkably resembled snow. ?I bet that?s what I think it is.?
?Then let?s go that way! Yuri,? CK called after her, ?We think we found the ice orb! Look there; we can play with the butterflies later. I thought they were leading us to something important.?
?How do you know they?re not?? She stopped following them, but didn?t move any closer in the direction which CK intended them to go.
?Because they?re going away from the snow, not towards it. It may be important to them, but it?s not to us; they aren?t our mission, Yuri.? The other three were following CK?s commands, Lexar reclining as usual away from the group all together. ?Come on. They?ll understand.?
?I don?t think so.? She took a firm stance as if she wouldn?t be moved from her decision, ?There must be something important this way. The snow won?t go anywhere.?
?You don?t know that.?
?I?m not going.? She turned on her heals and returned to following the tiny bugs. ?They live here, CK. I think they know more than all of us what?s here and what?s not.?
The boy leader frowned, ?You can?t just go off by yourself!?
?Then come with me,? but Yuri didn?t turn around.
?No! We have to get the ice orb! We can come back later-?
?I?ll be fine on my own, then. We?ll meet back here?whenever. I shouldn?t be gone that long.? And with that, she disappeared behind some brush along with the butterflies.
