PG

Yea, I am in the Bleach fandom at the moment so here is a ficcy for the challenge. I dun usually write by deadlines since I take my time with thigs, sometimes weeks or months. The fic was started around late January and then I sorta rushed it at the end, so forgive me if it feels a bit odd. I wanted smut, but ended up writin this sort of G-ish to PG-ish fic, ayee I feel so ashamed T.T
Well the fic is about how Rukia goes through her first year of X-mas, in this fic she is already a permanent family member of Ichigo's household. Read the manga, since the anime is branching off of the plot u'll get what I mean. Enough ramble go on read!

Yea I dun own Bleach, if I did I would be baskin in the glory of it!

The act was getting confusing, first the curious glances and then an abrupt halt to their daily conversations. The orange haired idiot would simply knot his brows together and remain passive in all her attempts to get him to open his big mouth. Shrugs and head shakes were now his only way of communication; Rukia began to loose her nerve. The whole human world had also transformed into a nerve wracked existence. The season which had brought on that change had Rukia wrenching her own insides.

Confusion was a big friend nowadays. It carried itself with the girl endlessly as the coexistence within Kurosaki household had become frantic. Strange decors and weird papers fluttered around. Greetings and happy wishes of upcoming events had Rukia spinning. What was all this strange human behavior?

Her class was even a worst case of turmoil, cards and boxes were exchanged. School uniforms were traded for the bright red and green attires. Happy atmosphere of the student body sent shivers down Rukia?s spine. Question toward the strangeness of it all spinned and tumbled within her head; the only possible way to ask around and that through Ichigo. At her first approach the young man halted on the answer and then blushed. Thus it ended in a bad expectation and especially from someone that she had come to cherish as her source of information.

Rukia?s next attempt was with Inoue. The cheery, bright minded girl with a funny disposition of looking air headed on occasions was not much of help either. She was fussing over a green paper and desperately tried to fix it over a strange box. When Rukia asked, the girl blushed just as Ichigo had and quickly rounded up the activity into her bag and with a lopsided grin began to account a strange tale of a tie. With a shrug, Rukia faked a smile and left the excited girl to her task.

The trek home was lonely. Ichigo no longer accompanied the raven headed girl, excuses and apologies became reasons to her ears. They lagged on the back of her mind always pondered toward the uneasy tension build between herself and Ichigo. Sighing, Rukia watched as the white mist disappeared into the frosty air. Cold had settled tightly within the atmosphere, so unlike the sunny days within Soul Society.

The family dinner was a usual hustle between father and son, but her presence would always flow out the energy between the two until they sat silent and compliant at the table. Eerie silence dwelled around the happy residence. Was it her? Has she done something wrong? Thoughts plundered within Rukia?s skull and all of it confused the young girl.

School work sat on her desk unattended. Even Hollows had disappeared, her trusty phone remained silent. Daily activity within the house bored Rukia, since the cheery atmosphere had deflated and left behind a strange silence with peace. All of which was alien to the girl, never had there been a dull moment since she had become part of the family, but now she had become exhausted?

---

Ichigo was exhausted, his companion was rather chipper to help him, but proved to much to handle once the actual shopping progressed. Inoue dragged him all over and made him stand on every line for a simple present. Now packed and wrapped as it lay next to him, ready to be given.

Something stirred outside. Grasping the object the young man shoved it under his bed as a small knock reverberated through the room. Breathing heavily Ichigo watched as a pale hand gently sneaked through the crack of the door followed by a familiar figure. Rukia paler than usual stood small and beaten before him. Her gaze was averted, shoulders hunched as the girl played with hem of the shirt.

?Rukia??

A hiccup breached the silence as the girl before him brought her face up, streaks of tears glistened on her cheeks. Something was wrong, his heart twisted as Rukia?s discomfort. Wretched on the inside Ichigo got up and with tentative step walked over. Rukia lunged into his arms.

Confused by her action, Ichigo instinctively wrapped his arms around the smaller form. Rukia quickly grasped unto his shirt and still hiccupping snuggled into his warmth where she instantly fell asleep. Not knowing what to do, the orange haired shinigami tried to untangle himself from the girl?s grasp. All proved futile as she only huddled even closer into his chest and as a leech refused to let go. Ichigo glanced at his alarm and scrambled unto his bed, Rukia in his arms?

---

Warmth spread out throughout her and the emptiness within ceased. The bliss ended within Rukia?s unconscious being for only a minute longer when a piercing noise awoke her. It read seven a.m. Groggy, she untangled herself and whacked the annoying clock, the alarm stopped but not before waking the occupant next to her. Huh?

Then it hit the raven haired girl as the orange mop of hair popped itself out from beneath the sheets. Eyes wide Rukia watched as Ichigo cracked an eye and produced an arm which dragged the girl back down. The young man tucked his companion into his sheet and spooning from behind grumbled an incoherent greeting.

?Wha..??

?Merry Christmas!?

?Oh?.what is Christmas??

Ichigo tensed and fully awake propped himself up on an elbow and looked down upon a pair of eyes that regarded him with sheer confusion. Then it all fell into place, Rukia?s distress and his own ignorance for the unexplained holiday. Amused at his own stupidity the young man pulled off the cover and leaned down to withdraw a huge box from underneath his bed. Rukia watched with fascination and plain curiosity displayed on her face.

The box was placed in her lap; it was red with a green ribbon. Something changed as Rukia glanced up at the sheepish expression that Ichigo wore. Still rather dumbstruck she started to pull on the ribbon only to have a large hand place itself above hers.

Shaking his head the young man pointed to the door. Quietly they both exited and descended down the stairs. A large green tree greeted the pair; little ornaments dangled upon each branch as small lights danced about. Rukia stood awestruck on the corner of the room while Ichigo held the gift.

A small cling and a crash brought Rukia back; cautiously she walked over find two of Ichigo?s sisters working by the stove. Gentle aroma arose from within as the girl hurried to open it. The darker haired sibling worked alongside her sister as both hustled and pulled on every pan and plate on the table. Another crash sent Rukia sprawled on the floor of the kitchen as she stared as the fight commenced between father and son. Suddenly the tiles of the kitchen floor offered the comfort that she craved as the air abound Rukia returned to normal.

Tears streaked down her cheeks as the raven haired girl hiccupped, the whole family froze. Ichigo along with his father watched as both of his sisters hugged Rukia. The ghastly scene continued as Ichigo?s dad plucked down next, sobbing violently with the trio. The orange haired shinigami stood with his mouth open at the scene before him.

One of the sisters snickered and whispered something unto Rukia?s ear. The raven haired girl smiled, with an evil gleam in her eye she nimbly withdrew from the slobbering pile and quickly walked over to Ichigo. Caught within the blissful moment Rukia motioned for the young man to bend down. Furrowong his brow Ichigo obeyed only to have his shoulders grasped as Rukia?s lips descended on his.

The soft kiss had Ichigo spinning as Rukia still held on to him. Blushed to the core the young man looked red as the d?cor above him, where a single plant hanged. The little leaves were eveident only to Rukia and the two girls that had planeted the mistletoe.

Happily Rukia untagled herself from the flushed shinigami and hurried back over to the two girls, as they both explained the reason behind the family?s strange behavior. The tree stood proudly before the family as the father along with the siblings pointed out the late night rush to put up the house into its present state. Gifts already aligned beneath the tree as Rukia spotted Ichigo?s present along with the rest. Grinning, she smiled back onto the still flustered young man as she continued to open up the gift with her family.
