Ooh! Random thought that came with reading this chapter. NA really reminds me of APO in <i>Alias</i>....is NA an "off the book" agency that's a subdivision of the CIA? Just curious.

:-? Well, for the record, I've never sat through an entire episode of Alias.

And I've tried to watch 3 of them...

But no, not a subdivision of the CIA. Not necessarily... CIA stands for Central Intellegence Agency, and technically, the NA turns over information they get to the CIA and vice versa. But they're on their own wavelengths, often working together, but basically equal in power. The CIA, being the "official chapter" of the government, however, does have the greater jurisdiction as we will see in later chapters.

Gotta have that internal struggle....

The NA is its own agency, tho, complete with the man power and technology, etc. And for the record, it doesn't exist. It's mythical to those on "The Force."
