Death Of Season

Post by AFI »

As you can tell, i'm a big AFI fan so here's a song from their new album that I used called Death of Season.

Of late, it's harder just to go outside
To leave this deadspace with hatred, so alive
Writhing with sickness, thrown into banality, I decay
Killed by the weakness, but forced to return, turn it off

I trembled as I felt myself start to break away. My vision was getting worse and worse but I could still see his face. My breathing became more shallow and so did his. The cold stage floor felt uncomfortable against my back as I tried to move to a better position. I tired to bring my hand up but my strength was dying away. As if he knew what I was doing, he grabbed it for me and brought it to his face. I winced in pain. It was pretty soon now. The only thing I could do was move my fingers around his cheek. He was so warm and soft that I felt as if I was given more strenght. Dark red liquid covered his face but he didn't care.

I watch the stars as they fall from the sky
I held a fallen star and it wept for me, dying
I feel the fallen stars encircle me now, as they cry

I couldn't believe what happened next but he started to cry. His tears dripped and mixed into the red puddle around us. I couldn't help but smile because this was what I ever really wanted to see him do. Cry. He looked back up to me and tried his best to smile too. I could feel the blood pouring down each side of my mouth and down my neck. He picked me up and held me in his arms as if never wanting to let go. I now had no strength left. It was up to him to take me home.

Out there so quickly grows malignant tribes
Posthuman extinction excels unrecognized
Feeling surrounded, so bored with mortality, I decay
All of this hatred is fuking real, turn it on... yeah

His weeping was loud against my ear and his tears too were warm. I closed my eyes and begged to have just a little bit of more time.

"I'm sorry." He softly said.

"F..fo.r..wha..t?" Please hurry, for now I couldn't even speak. The whole bottom portion of my body was already going numb.

"It was the only thing to do. I couldn't let someone else kill you. Besides, it'll be better this way."

I gently kissed the side of his neck that was closetest to me and smiled. I knew that there was going to be an assaination attack on me and I just waited but I never suspected that Heero would do it but I am glad for I wouldn't want to be killed by any other person.

I watch the stars as they fall from the sky
I held a fallen star and it wept for me, dying
I feel the fallen stars encircle me now, as they cry

My eyes slowly blinked for now the time had come and he too knew so. He pulled me up closer and whispered in my ear still sobbing.

"I love you."

He then bent down for our last and final kiss. Now body had totally gone numb and I felt the darkness and shadows come over.

Heero knew she was gone. Her head had fallen over the side and there was no pulse. He gently put her on the ground and stood up. Reaching into his pocket but never leaving his gaze away from her, he checked his gun.

One bullet left.

The raised it to his temple and took a deep breath. He pulled the trigger and fell.

It won't be all right despite what they say
Just watch the stars tonight as they, as they disappear, disintegrate
And I disintegrate 'cause this hate is fuking real
And I hope to shade the world as stars go out and I disintegrate

Please don't hurt me.

All I can really say is ... WHOA! A short but very deep fanfic. And sad. I find it very true to character that Heero would be her assassin and then for him to commit suicide. I don't think he could live without her (ah, I'm such a hopeless romantic!). A great story. Thank you for sharing. ^^

Ow, that's sad.
Heero and Relena and death just seem to go together though.

So many questions are left.... like why Heero had to shoot her when he obviously still loved her? In general was there more to this assassination that we know? How much did Relena really know?

::sigh:: but it was very poetic tragic. Sad usually isn't my thing, but this was interesting.
