CHAPTER 5


"Catherine," a voice called from out side the practice tent. "Quatre."

Catherine stopped throwing knives and looked were the voice was coming from, and Quatre stepped away from the board where the knives embedded themselves.

"Trowa?!" Catherine squealed running from the tent. Quatre jogged after her.

Catherine threw her arms around her brother. "How are you?"

"Good, you?" Trowa asked.

"Great."

"Hey, how was your trip?" Quatre asked.

"It was very relaxing. How did you guys get along," Trowa said eyeing his sister. He wanted to see if his sister thought of Quatre as a friend, or if it was just Quatre.

"Who? Quatre and I," Catherine said walking over to Quatre and placing an arm around his shoulders. "It was shaky at first, but we’re friends now."

"Good, now let’s go out to celebrate."

"Alright, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow." The blonde woman on the screen vanishes as Quatre closed the videophone. He got up from Trowa’s desk and went to find his best friend and tell him the news.

He found Trowa at the lion’s cage. "Hey Trowa. I just talked to my sister and they are having problems at the Winner Corporation, so I have to go home tomorrow," Quatre said.

"Oh. Well, I guess you have to do what you have to do. Just answer one question for me," Trowa said. He continued when Quatre nodded his head, "do you really like Catherine?"

Quatre blushed a little, then nodded.

"Why don’t you tell her? I know she likes you." Trowa said matter-a-factly.

"I don’t know," Quatre said.

"Well, just go and tell her that you’re leaving and see how she reacts to it," Trowa advised.

"Alright. I’ll talk to you later," Quatre walked away to look for Catherine.

He spotted the woman walking near the forest, which was in back of the circus area. Quatre jogged to catch up with her. "Cathy," he called to her.

She stopped walking so Quatre could catch up. "Hey Quatre!"

"Cathy, I have to talk to you," Quatre said as he caught up with her.

"Yes, Quatre."

"Well, I just talked to my sisters and apparently there is a problem with the Winner Corp. So I have to leave no later than tomorrow.

Catherine’s smile disappeared, but she forced the smile to return. Her blue eyes looked sad and this tore at Quatre’s heart.

"You know, your eyes give you away," Quatre said as he stepped closer to Catherine. "Will you miss me?"

"I thought you said my eyes give me away?"

"They do, but I want to hear you say it."

Catherine looked up at Quatre as she said, "yes Quatre, I’ll miss you."

Quatre took another step forward and said, "Catherine do you know what."

"What?"

"I think I really like you," Quatre said so quietly that Catherine had to strain to hear him, even though they were so close.

"Really?" Catherine said with her face lighting up. Then she quickly calmed down, "I mean, I like you too."

Quatre responded to her by brushing her lips with his. When Catherine didn’t respond negatively, he placed his lips firmly on hers. Catherine put her arms around his neck and Quatre put his hands on her back. The kiss intensified and they pulled each other closer. Together they tried to calm the raging storm of passion that broke out between them. When they finally broke both were wordless and out of breath.

Catherine laid her head on Quatre’s chest. "I will miss you so much."

Quatre lifted her head up. He was shocked to find tears threatening to fall in her eyes. "Oh Cathy, I will miss you too. Will you do me the honor of being my date for the up coming Preventor’s ball? You could come up with Trowa. Relena lives on Earth and she has offered her home to all of us."

"Sure."

Quatre kissed her lightly then took her hand and walked to the trailer so he could pack.

Once again, Trowa was a little OOC, but it's cute b/c he's trying to find someone to take care of his sister. The moment with Cathy and Quatre in the forest was just too kawai! It was soooo sweet! Peace out!
