"Well? do you trust the guy?" Kagome asked with a frown.
Sango just told her the story that she ditched Miroku Satoshi on their first date. But surprisingly, instead of being upset and violent, Miroku turned to be more persistent and was courting her seriously and religiously. He then confided to her all his past relationships and told her of all the problems going on with his family. This shocked Sango and since last night, she has been stunned and is trying hard to sink all the information in her brain.
Sango nodded, slight half-heartedly and made a sigh of her own. "I know what you're thinking. Everything must be a show he's playing."
Sensing the sudden change with the girl's reaction and the downfall of her voice, Kagome instantly changed her mind. Maybe she felt wrong. What if Sango is Miroku's savior to a better path? There is no impossibility. If everything turns out the way it shouldn?t have then maybe it was just time that Sango had a little taste of the bittersweet side of life. But she will insist that she would not sleep with Miroku or even let him get to second base! "But it's your choice. Follow your heart," she said, her voice full of concern.
Sango frowned at her questioningly, as if to ask 'what's happened with you?'
"Excuse me, girls!" someone interrupted their conversation. "I just wanted to ask Sango-sama if she's free for lunch?"
Kagome looked up at Miroku's tall frame and could not miss the unusual glow he had on. His countenance was very frivolous and carefree, unlike his normal rich-macho-sexy look. Nudging Sango's ribs lightly with her elbow, Kagome tried to squeeze some emotion or even a little bit of excitement from Sango. "Hey, someone wants to take you out to lunch!"
"I know that, silly," Sango whispered to Kagome as she tried hard not to show any feeling. She stared at Miroku's begging eyes. Everybody would agree -it was quite heart-warming. "I don?t know?"
The senior went on his knees before Kagome and bowed with his palms together. "Please ask her to eat lunch with me, please?! It's just lunch -no harm done!"
The young man looked pitiful and Kagome assured him she did not have a heart of ice. Glancing at Sango, she smiled. "What do you say, Sango? Should I say yes?"
These were one of the days when one was left with no choice. Sango shrugged. "Okay. As long as Kagome comes along, too."
Miroku jumped to his feet and winked at Sango. "Even though I prefer you alone, that would not be a problem!"
Kagome giggled but Sango rolled her eyes.
"You better ready yourself. I'm quite hungry and I don?t settle for salad!" Sango warned with a teasing tone, her unimpressed expression unchanged.
"Money is not a problem for me! I'd gladly buy the cafeteria for you!" Miroku said honestly, his exaggeration seemed limitless. He grinned happily. "See you gals later, I have to get to class!"
As they watched him leave, Kagome laughed at him. "Isn't that something. Free lunch!"
"You said it-"
Kagome looked at her friend and frowned. Her friend's eyes were focused somewhere else. "What's the matter?"
"Would you look at that hottie walking inside the room?" Sango trailed off, her eyes at a certain direction. She crushed on Miroku but this guy was also hot. Looking at Kagome, she noticed the interest in her friend's eyes. "You like him already?"
Kagome shook her head quickly. "Are you kidding? I don?t have time for such things."
~~~
Their eyes met from a distance and Kagome was sure that he was looking at her. She tried hard to look away but his stare was melting her through the bones. If it had not been for Sango's surprising question, she might have just stared into the stranger's eyes till sunset. She had to admit, she was guilty as her friend accused her.
Where has she seen him before? A long, silver mane hung behind his back and his amber eyes expressed power and strength. He was outstanding among all the men she has ever seen, staining her thoughts as the day ended.
He did not speak a word, he just sat and? observed. She wondered secretly what occupied his head. All day he was behind everybody else, sitting at the corner of the room silent as a predator.
But most importantly, what was his name? He intrigued her so, blameworthy as she was. But then again? it was impossible not to feel that way, considering her situation.
She and Sango sat on the cafeteria bed, waiting for the senior who courted her friend. It was amazing how things have changed during the past few days. The bad boy known for heartbreaking was amazingly changing his ways -it was hard to believe for most but Kagome knew he was sincere.
Love could definitely change people.
After the long day in Goshinbu, Kagome parted ways with Sango. She sat on grass on the park, unseen by others in her true form.
Her fingers mindlessly crumpled the blades of grass, feeling the cool dampness of it all. There was a big pond on the park and Kagome contented herself watching small fishes play about and the insects hop about. She was in her own world.
"So I was right?" a voice said from behind, stunning her.
Her head turned to see whom it was.
It was no other than the stranger who danced in her thoughts.
But how could he have seen her? Then she noticed that in spite of his human form, there were two white, fluffy ears above his head -invisible to everyone but very real to her.
He was a hanyou?
~~~
Being human was easier than Inuyasha thought. It took no time for the Head Demon to transform him into a hanyou.
Life with Miroku for the past few years guided him towards a practical approach to a sudden birth and realization. He came to class this morning; he was instantly enrolled in the college the moment he was 'born'. Ah? the powers of a Head Demon.
It was also a good thing that memories were kept.
The girl Kagome quickly took a toll in his thoughts.
And now he watched her silently as she walked to the park. His senses told him that she was to do something unexpected and he tried hard to ready himself.
She had shocked him with her disappearance and startled him even more as he saw the pair of glorious white wings emerged from her back, giving one soft flap behind her as she reappeared unseen by the few people in the park. His eyes watched as the tail of her feathers bent ever so softly against the grass as she sat down.
It took a while for Inuyasha to figure out the truth. Kagome's weird manifestation that was different from ordinary human women, her glowing aura invisible to the human eye, her enticing fragrance -it was proof that she was an angel in a form of a human.
A stunningly beautiful woman.
Perhaps it was his human side that made him appreciate the beauty the angel contained and affected him.
This was not the first time he has seen an angel up close.
In fact, he has seen more glorious angels that he literally had to scram and take cover from their luminous light. But she was taking a different effect from him. Instead of fear, he tried hard to deny himself the trust and admiration that he felt.
What was it about her that changed his perspective about heavenly beings? According to humors and demon history -angels were bad for their kind. They had more power and strength. They were enemies.
He clenched his fists and shook his head. Why was he even thinking of this crap? He was supposed to be devising a plan -a plan to get himself a woman, promoted to a higher position, and of course get more sex. He laughed to himself.
Then he noticed how he forced a laugh. But he was not in the mood for smut.
Not in the mood? Inuyasha asked himself. Since when did you feel not in the mood- He stopped. Since when did he have a mood anyway?
Then he was reminded.
Hanyou.
Of course? now he was a hanyou. How could he ever forget?
Be the demon you really are! Inuyasha mentally cheered himself on. He took a step closer to the heavenly being and spoke to her.
As he did, he could not help but feel stirs of emotion as her eyes looked up at him with shock and disbelief. The manner of their locked gaze earlier surfaced between them, confusing both parties completely.
"So? you were Sango's guardian?" he asked with an 'I-knew-it' tone.
She opened her lips to speak but no words came out.
He crossed his arms across his chest and snorted. "What's the matter, is this the first time you've seen a hanyou?"
The angel turned away. "Of course not. I was not created yesterday." She stood up and gave her wings a flap. "I suppose you think it is a shame we could not fight like we're supposed to."
"Why?" he asked quickly. Then he wanted to bite his tongue for asking. Well, he needed to know too. But in fact, he was the one who had been born just yesterday so the rules were still new to him.
"We're half humans, hanyou. The other half of our beings are obliged to be innocent of our relationships to our guarded just the way we keep off the war when we're humans," she explained. "Remember, to be human is to be free of that knowledge."
His demon blood flared with anger. "You're an idiot to think that I would not care to fight you!"
She sighed patiently. "You do not seem to understand. It is futile to pick a fight with me."
"Bitch!" Inuyasha called her. "What the fuck do you mean?"
"Exactly the way I said it. You are strong but only against human beings and maybe to other demons. But never against our kind," she explained. "I'd easily send you back to hell with your language."
"Then do it!" he challenged her.
"Really?" she asked, a mix of tease and concern in her voice. "Are you sure??"
Inuyasha wanted to strangle himself with his tail if he still had it. "I? I give up. I worked so hard to be a hanyou."
"So you have," she whispered in a knowing tone. She sat back down again. "Why don?t we be silent. There is a long day ahead of us till tomorrow. I'm still getting new with the idea of not being around Sango all the time."
Inuyasha growled but he sat a few feet from her. But she was right. He might as well be cool about their acquaintance.
"I never thought you'd be a hanyou."
"Baka," he grunted mockingly. He crossed his arms across his chest and looked at the sky.
Her luscious scent did not miss to sting his nose. If he were a demon with his long tongue, he'd lick her skin to taste her and eventually burn his tongue in the process but he did not care. He closed his eyes as he inhaled her lovely scent. His head felt light and floating.
"Are you visible right now?"
He snorted.
Then she laughed. "You must've looked idiotic talking to yourself! You should have been more careful. You know how people react to such eccentricity."
Inuyasha had to agree. He had to be careful and how dumb of him not to remember that. Looking around cautiously to see if anyone was looking, he disappeared with a grunt from human eyes.
He recalled the way her laughter sounded. So musical and it was enough to put him into a trance. Her voice made no difference.
Were angels this good and compassionate when not fighting or when they were off the job? She talked to him casually, like they were friends. Did she really have a good heart to lay down her barriers and talk with an unworthy demon such as he?
"You work for Sesshoumaru, right?"
He nodded and tried hard not to speak dirty about the demon who granted him even half a life as human.
"He's a peaceful demon, do you know why?" she asked. "It confuses me to know he's so? tame."
Inuyasha shook his head. He really didn?t give a damn about the Head Demon. "I don?t know. If I were him, I'd make a real good boss! I'd run Goshinbu like I did Miroku -with style!" And get myself some women, he added mentally.
She laughed at him. "I agree. Goshinbu is a real good place to study. It's quiet. The only thing making it lively is Miroku Satoshi. Makes you proud, huh?"
Inuyasha had to chuckle. "A little. He has been causing a lot of trouble since he was born."
She nodded. "All demons should be like you. To make our job a little bit more interesting."
Inuyasha shifted on the ground where he sat. "So? can you fly?"
Kagome nodded. "I can. But I don?t have anywhere to go to."
"Baka! Here you are with wings while all I have are these silly dog ears and I don?t know what the hell they're for!" Inuyasha growled. "If I had your wings, I'd fly to other parts of the country."
"Hmm? I don?t know."
"Keh!" Inuyasha did not know what to fear. Talking trash to an angel or actually talking to one. But one thing was freaking him the most.
Himself.

Oh this is just adorable! The storyline is so unique, and so far I'm just loving it. Kagome's so innocent, and while Inuyasha is mostly a troublemaker, he's finding his softer side. It's sweet fluff, and I can't wait to see more.
Keep up the good work!

"We seem dead set on turning ourselves into little monsters, don't we? Wonder why that is? It's all the rage all of a sudden. And all of us, is sooo busy running around, trying to beat each other to the finish line that no one notices the big sign from God that says : Stop-Messing-with-my-Stuff." In my opinion, everyone in The Man NEEDS to have a quote from their charactor.
?You?re all against me,? he accused, ?And I never did anything to deserve it.?
