you know how when you've got an excellent idea for a stroy and you start writing, then a few days later you get another one and quit the last story to write the new one? Well, i do that all the time! does anyone know a cure, cos i get bored with my ideas after a while. Also, does too much speech in a fanfic ruin it? cos i do that all the time too.

Im not sure that its a cure as such, but whenever I get an idea I do write it down. It might be just the start of a story, or it may be the entire plot. I have a number of them sitting on my trusty Psion waiting to be expanded.
It can be difficult to keep your enthusiasm going for a story when you have ideas buzzing around in your head for others. My solution is not to start other stories until I have finished what I am currently working on (apart from perhaps the odd one-shot or challenge fic just to blow away the cobwebs). And the satisfaction at finishing a story is more than enough reward to counter the frustration at not being able to start others
So far as dialogue goes, Im more of a descriptions gal
Gimme loads of details about the scene and Im a happy chappy, although dialogue is, of course, very important.

ideas, ideas!!!
I have the same problem too! So...here's a little advise...
Well, whenever I get an idea, I write it down. The mind can't remember anything, so I write down ideas. I have several notebooks filled with story ideas-original and fanfiction.
With so many ideas in your head, how can one handle them? It's really difficult to concentrate on two things at a time. I guess the best way is to focus on one fanfiction or story, finish it, then move on to the other. Because sometimes, if you flit from one fic to another without finishing the other, you might end up with unfinished or inferior fics/stories that not only might disappoint you, but your readers as well. However, if you're bursting for ideas for the other, I suggest you write them down.
Whenever I get an idea for a story, I jot it down, so if I have time, I can look on it again and work on it. To keep me focused on the story I'm currently making, I write a rough outline of the story-how many chapters, what are the basic plots, etc.
As for dialogues, it really depends on the situation or the kind of emotion you're projecting. I tend to use dialogues to show the relationship of characters with each other and the dynamics going on among the characters-like when they are arguing. However, too much dialogue might ruin some scenes that could be better expressed by being descriptive. But if you're a really good writer, you'll find a way to use dialogues to the fullest.
