It was a happy room, packed with somewhat more than the allowed number of visitors. Heero stood to the side and watched as the baby was passed from friend to relative and back again. Relena's adoptive mother turned almost green at being called "Grandma", but he was sure she'd get used to it in time.

Noin was holding her now, with such an expression on her face.... Suddenly, Heero wondered if there'd be another announcement soon. Had they, after more than a year, managed to conceive? He hoped so. The last time he'd seen Zechs, the man was going over medical reports from the Mars Colony. Heero hadn't asked any questions, and Zechs volunteered no information, but Heero understood. He understood the feeling of responsibility perfectly.

The door opening started a domino effect of shoving, and squeezed the space in the room tighter. Quatre was there, holding a box that was bigger than him, and beaming around the edge.

"Congratulations! I'm so happy for you guys. Um, where can I put this?"

Because there was no way to get Quatre and the present through the room, the present was passed from hand to hand overhead, to be set on a table out of the way. Unencumbered, Quatre was able to squeeze through to the bed. He kissed Relena on the cheek and held out his arms for the baby.

"What a little angel. What's her name? Have you decided yet?"

Heero and Relena shared a glance.

"Her name," Heero said, "is Aisha."

He smiled at his daughter, resting in the arms of his friend. Aisha. Life. She was their life. Their life continuing. Their life's purpose. She and Relena were all the world to him, and all the world he needed. How precious life is. How lovely.
