Blissful Ignorance

OK, so I started watching this series a while back, but somewhere in between not having the episodes, school, and work, I stopped watching it. I only got to episode 120 or so. The other day, however, I saw a clip of Shippuden and decided to continue watching the show; but, I know that after the fight between Naruto and Sasuke the fillers begin. I don't really want to watch 100+ episodes of fillers, and so my question is:

Is it possible to go from the Sasuke Retrieval arc straight to Shippuden without watching the fillers, or will I miss valuable information?

The fillers are not considered cannon. I forgot what it was, but something has already happend that differs from the fillers.

So unless you want to watch a man turn in to some tiger-thing and a girl in to some fish-thing, you can safely skip the fillers.

Then again if someone tells you about the Curry-of-Life! (tm) you wouldn't know what they are talking about.

I did watch all the fillers, some were watchable side stories, others should be burned and never mentioned again.

I actully liked the man-tiger episode except for the last 6-8minutes or so. Seeing Iruka being not!worthless was a nice change of pace.

I mean hell, they even put Sakura in a nurse's (during the fillers of suck) outfit but then make her look ugly! I mean come on folks! It's Sakura! In a nurse's outfit! And you make her look retarded! Why????

Anyway, Adaon, I will probably watch the fillers when I run out of current episodes, but in the mean time I'll stick with Shippuden.

I'm with wicked on that one. I didn't watch a single filler and watched four eps of shippuden. Then i ran out of time and patience.

I would have to agree.... the fillers just suck overall. They are what they are which is filler stuff to help speed along the manga. There are some decent ones. But even saying decent is a stretch. Currently im watching the Shippuuden episodes (on number 21) but what i think that is stupid is that they always cut the episode off right when things start to get good. And then your stuck waiting a week for the next one. I read the manga too just because i got tired of waiting to see what happens. But still even then after you see the episode and read the manga your stuck with idle time. So yeah you could watch the fillers if you want. The ones that i liked were the ones with Naruto and Hinata together but thats just me. If you are gonna watch them, word of caution... prepared to be bored.

But if you dont read the manga and just watch the Shippuuden series its gonna get a whole lot cooler soon....
