Gundam Girl: Okay, right. I?m here. This is for the Blissful Ignorance Slave To Your Love contest. I hope to see good results.
Black Rose: *lifts special judging pen* I come to criticize.
GG: You?re doing that enough with ?Behind Darkness? Mask!?
Rose: Enough? There can never be enough criticism!
GG: Ugh? Well, here it is. Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own Gundam Wing. ?Nuff said.
*~Wishing Won?t Work~*
A wish. She?d never really been one to wish. She?d been one to hope, oh yes. But hoping was a form of belief. Wishing was a last resort, where you turned to some unexplainable magical force that couldn?t do a blasted thing. She hadn?t dared to pray for it. To pray for something such as this would be a sin. It must be.
How do you pray to God, asking to have one of His angels remain with you?
Of course, to anyone else, it would seem as though he was there every day. And he was, unless Une decided to send him on some upper-class mission to the colonies or, more recently, to the riots in Paris. The thought still gave her chills. But that was why she was here now, trying her best to tackle some paperwork, and finding that her mind refused to settle on work. No. It wanted to settle on him.
Disappointingly, she couldn?t deny that that wasn?t the only thing wanting to settle on him.
Relena arched her back and swung her neck in different directions, feeling the slight relief as it cracked a few times. So what? He hadn?t been able to kill her. A little arthritis wouldn?t either.
The wind intruded through the open French doors leading to her bedroom?s balcony, allowing the rich purple curtains to sway in the breeze. The dim light from the single reading lamp on her desk cast the entire room in an eerie glow: dark, mysterious, taciturn, untouchable?like him.
It was always depressing for her to think about him, she reflected, standing and beginning to slip various contracts and documents into manila envelopes waiting to be filed away. When she thought about it hard enough, realized that she really didn?t know anything about it. God, she didn?t even know his real name. That would bother any woman. But not her. Never her.
Relena sighed, as she smoothed out the train to her long evening gown. The ball that Quatre had hosted earlier that evening had been entertaining, and it was nice to see her friend again. Yet ever since she had shared the final dance with the fair Gundam pilot, she?d felt a little uneasy. His words still echoed in her head.
?Do you feel alone now, Relena? Now that there?s peace??
Relena studied her friend silently. The question had been more out of curiosity than concern. ?Why, Quatre??
?Just asking.?
Curiosity, as she?d guessed. ?I suppose that when you?re on your own for so long during these times, you don?t mind the loneliness anymore.?
He raised an eyebrow. ?I have trouble believing that. You?re the type who needs company.?
She patted his shoulder. ?You pilots and your understanding of human emotions. I think that?s what I love about you guys. Oh, and one?s a clown, that certainly helps.? She smiled.
Quatre laughed. ?At least you haven?t lost your sense of humor, Relena.?
No, Relena thought again. She hadn?t lost her sense of humor. Not yet. But Quatre was right to not believe her. In all truth, she was lonely.
But that didn?t mean she wanted to be. Shaking her head, she turned off the desk lamp. Now in complete darkness, she could hide.
She could hide from the constant presence of dread eating at her. How long had he been there? She wondered. He would always be a shadow. To find a shadow, you would have to be one.
Relena had no difficult time pretending to not exist, to pretend she was nothing but a woman who would sink into darkness, away from the light she had once helped to create.
?Heero??
The name barely left her lips, a whisper to the dark, but the sudden movement that responded to it didn?t go unnoticed. There was a change in the air. A different aroma, that nameless scent that only she could identify, interrupted the perfumed breeze that came from the lighted streets below her hotel room.
?You knew I was here.?
Her skin warmed at the simple notes of his deep voice. ?Of course. A Gundam pilot makes one wary, he will not go unseen.? Or unfelt.
?I was only checking on you. As my job as your bodyguard, I have to make sure you?re all right at all times.?
?And that includes hiding out in my room, too, Heero?? Say yes, she thought. Oh, please say yes.
No reply. Oh well, that was better than a no.
?Well, since you?re here, Yuy, you can make yourself useful.?
He stepped forward, an eyebrow lifted questioningly.
She made an absent motion toward her head. ?Would you mind pulling these bobby pins out? They hurt like hell, and I won?t be able to reach all of them myself.?
His only response was a grunt, but he approached, hands raised, and began to release her hair from its confining formal up-do.
She closed her eyes when his fingers lightly grazed the bare nape of her neck. ?Thank you,? she said when he was done. She walked to her desk once more and turned on the lamp again. ?I wanted to go over the riot details with you.?
?Right,? was all he said, but she smiled at the simplicity of his reply. Jump on the chance, eh Heero? Actually, she thought, that didn?t sound too disappointing.
Snap out of it, Relena. ?Good lord,? she murmured.
?Sorry?? he asked.
?Nothing.? Her brain ran in circles in her head. ?I heard about the breach this morning.?
?Some crazy bastard with a gun. No different story, you know.? Heero held his hands behind his back, and then leaned against the front of the desk, that same back facing her.
Relena considered the possibilities? No, it couldn?t work. Could it?
?Anyway, it wasn?t something we couldn?t handle. The assassin?s work was sloppy.?
She felt the corners of her mouth lift. It was genius. ?I don?t doubt you for a second, Heero.?
He grunted again. ?I suppose that?s good. However, I am upping the security a little more. Statistics show that even a slip like that could be fatal. It was our blunder, so we feel obligated to correct it by whatever means necessary. I almost feel like a crook.?
Slowly, she took her weapon from the drawer in her desk. ?A crook? Oh now, really.?
?Yes, really.? He was staring at a spot on the wall, something seemingly interesting. Heero started a little as he felt a chill against his forearm.
?Well, then, my crook.? The grin on her face widened. ?As they say, you?re busted.? The snapped the handcuffs locked on his wrists.
Heero swiveled around, eyes uncharacteristically wide. ?Re- Relena?!? he faltered. What was she doing?!
Relena?s slow smirk had him sweating at the temples. Shit, maybe he was being put into confinement. Maybe she was angry at him for the mistake. Or maybe?
He froze as her lips came into contact with his. Maybe she wanted to kiss him. His eyes drooped close.
Her heart raced. She shouldn?t be nervous, should she? Her influence was unmatched, so he would be easy to persuade. The setting was perfect for the moment, midnight in Paris with the city lights sparkling, and the cool wind still coming in through the balcony, toying with her free hair. But she couldn?t help but feel as though she would fail.
She didn?t want to fail. Skimming her thumbs over Heero?s secured wrists, she felt his erratic pulse and gained a bit more confidence. Moving around him, she hugged him from behind and placed her lips right below his ear.
?A little off-guard, are you, my Chief of Security??
Heero fought the urge to moan as her lips continued its path down his neck. When she stopped, his eyes opened. ?Relena?? he asked, trying to sound as unaffected as possible, which, of course, did not sound very unaffected.
Relena gave him a small push in the back. He realized that she wanted him to walk toward the bed. Obediently, he did so, and then turned to face her.
Her eyes looked almost playful. She slithered her pretty hands up from his thighs to his shoulders, giving a gentle shove. He lowered himself slowly to the mattress. It was only a strong will that kept his eyes half-open.
Relena raised an eyebrow. He wasn?t giving in as quickly as she had hoped. Perhaps it was because his bound hands had no way of reaching her. He wouldn?t dare break them; that would take away his manly self-control, correct? She would use this moment as a test, just to see what kind of hold she had on him. ?You?re job is not in danger,? she assured him. Slowly, she breathed warmly into his ear. ?But you?re sanity might be.?
He only breathed for a moment, defiantly meeting his queen?s gaze. ?Prove it,? he gritted out between his needy teeth. He suddenly felt the urge to gain access to her neck.
She gave him a feral grin, which, he discovered, was a good turn-on. She was so ready to respond to his challenge. Standing up as he lay there, she began at zipper at the back of her dress. ?You think you can stay there as I work for more than just peace, Heero??
Heero nodded slowly, and she began to undo the buttons one by one, tormenting him slowly. She slid the bodice down her shoulders and then her elbows, then sensuously let it fall to a puddle of fabric around her feet. ?A little uncomfortable?? she guessed, referring to the now large bulge in his Preventer uniform pants. ?We can remedy that, I think.? She worked at the buttons there, then crept down the zipper, her fingers grazing his groin, making him impossibly harder.
Yuy began to grunt a little, pulling at his restrains with more force. ?Relena?get me out of these things??
She laughed quietly. ?I think you?re missing the general idea here, Mr. Yuy. I have control of you.?
If only she knew how far those words extended, Heero thought longingly. He growled lowly. God, he wanted her. ?Then make it quick.?
?Uh-uh.? She wagged a finger playfully. ?I?m the one giving orders tonight.? As gently as she could, she tugged off his pants. He could keep the boxers for now. She kissed him again while she unbuttoned his green Preventer shirt, nibbling at each area on his chest as it was revealed to her. She marveled at the hard muscles on his stomach,
The trail she left with her lips continued down to the elastic band of his boxers. He was still wearing too many clothes. Relena felt her cheeks get hot, but she forced the blush down. She had already started to dominate, it wasn?t the time to get shy or embarrassed.
She stuck a few fingers inside the band. Heero automatically lifted his hips from the bed. The boxers slipped off, and she sighed as another part of him came to greet her that night. She smiled slyly. The huntress would have her prey whenever she wanted it.
The blood surged through Heero?s veins, demanding her touch. Relena massaged his erection tenderly. She bit her lip. She wouldn?t give him too much pleasure. Not tonight. That would have to be another time.
And there would certainly be another time.
?Just a moment,? she said, her voice surprisingly deepened with lust. She rolled the stockings down her legs, pulled them off. Next came the pearls at her throat, which landed on the desk. Then finally, her bra was undone and peeled from her chest.
Heero only stared. His fingers twitched involuntarily. ?God, Relena.?
?Oh, Heero,? she whispered jokingly. ?That sounded an awful lot like a plead. Come on.? Fully aware that she had left her underwear on, she straddled his completely naked body. ?Beg for me. Show me that you appreciate me.?
?You want me?to beg?? he managed to get out. His jaw hardened. ?A Gundam pilot does not beg.?
?That?s where you?re wrong.?
A chill raced down his spine, followed by a flash of heat.
?I?m going to make you scream for mercy.? Grinning, she pressed herself against him, breasts flattening against his chest.
Heero mentally counted to ten. ?Relena??
It wouldn?t take him too long to care, she decided. She began to moan, though it was undeniably more than an act and she felt him tense underneath her. ?Heero??
He closed his eyes. She was so soft. Everything, every part of this night felt like a dream. She was here, she was real. He could protect her.
That was all he had ever thought mattered. But he was wrong, very wrong. Every time he needed to leave, hell, sleep even, he missed her. Trowa noticed the mood switch when they changed shifts. But mood went deeper than he had expected it too.
He was in love with her.
Relena clamped her hands on his shoulders. ?Please, Heero,? she said, her voice a little more urgent now.
A small smile threatened to spread on his face. Unbeknownst to her, he had just won the whole shebang. Actually, a she-bang sounded REALLY good.
That was it. Thoughts he should be thinking or not, he needed her. Desperately. But that level stretched too viciously at the moment.
With moves only he could pull off, he flipped her to where she was underneath him, and straddled her hips. ?You?re vulnerable, Relena.? He skimmed a finger around the top of her panties.
She chuckled. ?Probably seems that way, doesn?t it? Well, if you can manage to pull it off??
He was a tad too impatient for that, and quickly ripped the underwear from her. The action surprised her so much that she gasped, and he seized the opportunity to capture her mouth in a yielding kiss. While she recovered from that, he finally reached her neck, and began to bite at it. There were times when even he needed to be a ravenous beast.
She gasped as arched her back when he moved his lips lower. ?Heero?please? Oh, God?? Her fingers seized his hair in a brutal attempt to maintain control. ?I need you. Please. You know I need you.?
For a moment, and only a moment, his thoughts darkened. Maybe she did. Maybe she didn?t. But the opportunity was now, if they were willing to take it.
Her hips raised to meet his, and she gave a little wriggle beneath him.
Yes, he was willing. Very. Moving lower, he kneed her thighs apart, and with a swift, fluid motion, he entered her.
Relena hissed between clenched teeth, and her head flew back on the pillow. ?Ah?? she said softly. The pain, though more intense than she had expected, was brief, and she lay still for a moment. ?Heero,? she breathed.
Heero?s eyes widened. ?You were? You never?? A light in him struck. He was her first. He was her damned first. ?Why didn?t you tell me? I could?ve??
?No.? Her eyes were dark, and they met his. ?Do it again. Slower.?
He raised his hips up to where he was almost all the way out, then he slid into her again and a calm speed.
She sighed out his name as he slowly began to undulate above her. Her fingers clenched into the sheets as a carefully building force threatened to overtake her. Breathing deeply, she did her best to control it. This would be soft, slow, peaceful.
Heero, despite his best efforts, struggled to maintain the steady rhythm they had created. The tempo of their mating increased, and she gave a short cry. He kept his needs in check, knowing he could drive her up again and again before that last, glorious release.
Relena gasped, and coiled herself around him, a leg behind his thighs, an arm across his back. She began to move with him, against the mattress, then upward, hard. She wanted him crazy. As crazy for her and she was for him right now. She did what she could, murmured his name in his ear no softer than breezy wind. If he moaned, she delved further until he cried out, or if he shivered from the heat, she grazed her teeth along his neck and chest so he would shudder.
Finally, unable to hold out any longer, Heero grabbed her around the waist, the handcuffs long since broken, and pressed her against him. Rising away, he dropped down faster and deeper than he had before. He moaned, she screamed, and he finally flipped to his side, so he wouldn?t land on her.
For perhaps a full minute all they did was gasp, pant, and stare at each other. Then she spoke, with her eyes closed, her mind clouded, and her voice soft.
?God, but I love you.?
Heero?s eyes flew open. ?What??
She looked at him. Burying her face in her chest, she nodded. ?I can?t keep it from you anymore, Heero. I?m sorry.? He felt her shake, and he realized that she was crying.
?What?? he said again. He took her chin between his fingers. ?What is it? What was it that I did wrong?? A thought dawned. ?Did I hurt you? I swear, Relena??
?No, no.? She threw her arms around him again. ?It was beautiful. Nothing was wrong. It was perfect, Heero. Perfect. But I??
He didn?t give her any more room to speak. The barely-coherent mumblings could be saved for later when he wanted her cute and sunny and shy. But this night, this moment, called for the sexy, dark, and bold Relena. He liked that Relena. But?
?I love you too.? He would love the other one. The one he saw every day at work, the one he wished to whatever was up there, he could live his whole life with. Maybe as something more than a bodyguard.
Relena had fallen silent. ?You??? Too tired to analyze it, she smiled. ?It was something I had never been brave enough to ask for.?
He had never thought bravery would be a question; not after the stunt she?d just pulled off. ?You?re brave.?
She snorted. ?I should hope so. But before, Heero, it was so complicated. So incredibly and amazingly frustrating. All I could do was wish. Wish?? She lifted a finger to his face and began to stroke the shadow of stubble there. ?But wishing won?t work, will it, Heero??
Heero brought her face closer, close enough so that all he could see was her stunning blue eyes. ?Wishing you won?t need when I?m through.? He kissed her, then, making her laugh, pulled her across his conveniently naked body. ?You?re on top.?
Relena raised her nifty eyebrow. ?You broke your handcuffs. I?ll have to punish you.?
Heero grinned, and bit right below her breast. ?Don?t worry. I?ll make it up to you. Next time, you may want to try chains??
