Live Again
Feeling Nothing
Lonely Empty
It was another colony, another temporary place to live. Every where he went he felt the same. Nothing made him feel like he found his place. He knew no one. No friends, family, lovers, no one. Everyday he walked through life like a ghost. More than once he?d found himself with a gun to his head in the middle of the night with his finger slowly pulling on the trigger. And that?s when he?d hear her voice, ?It?s finally over.?
You try to walk away but you fall
You cannot understand what's this for
She watched him leave from the hospital window. She stared down at him as he walked away, only to glance over his shoulder and nod to her, presumably never to be seen again. She knew different, she knew one day they would see each other, and there would be no wars or battles to fight. His life was the equivalent to anyone else?s that had just lost everything. His entire life was war, he knew no different, and here he was, in a time without fighting. She often wondered if he?d found a way to live yet. Peace could be a hard thing to get used to.
In this world I see it more
The pain you feel that I ignore
Heero knew she wanted him to come back, even if only to visit, but he couldn?t do that. She didn?t need him. She was strong enough, much stronger than himself. She could have any man she wanted, why would she ever want him? Every time his thoughts wandered to her he could see her face as though he were standing in front of her.

nothin' there
Heero, where was he? How was he? Alive? Dead? She never cried for him, but how often she smiled for him. She could see past the training, the conditioning, the battle scarred mind. She could see him, but sometimes she was scared that there was nothing there. That what she saw was merely a ghost or shadow of someone who wasn?t there anymore.

There she was again. On the TV, making an appearance at the local embassy. He could go to her, find out why he can?t live. Then again, he shouldn?t. His life was not her responsibility. He was there anyway, sitting in her office waiting for her to come back from some meeting or conference. She didn?t know he was here. Slowly he stood and went to the window, staring out across the city. He?d flown from the colonies to earth just to see her for what could be less then ten minutes, if at all. He heard the door shut behind him and slowly turned to her, their eyes meeting each others gaze. His eyes steady, hers surprised.

?Heero.? She regained her composure quickly and found her feet again. ?Its been a long time.?
He nodded before stepping behind her to lower her jacket off of her shoulders. ?I needed to see you. Relena.? She let him take her jacket and watched as he hung it on the back of a chair.
?Thanks. It?s good to see you. I was hoping I?d get to see you again. How have you been?? He looked alright, though she could see the look in his eyes telling her he wasn?t doing so well.
?I don?t know.?
?Don?t know what?? He stood by the window again. She couldn?t help but stand at his side.
?How I?ve been doing. I haven?t found anything out there.? Her heart screamed out to him, all he needed to find was right here beside him.

?Heero, I can?t tell you what you should do in life. But I?d be lying if I said I didn?t want you here.? His eyes closed as he considered what she said. ?Whenever you?re around, I feel like I can handle everything. That no matter how difficult the task, with your strength I could accomplish it.?
?I don?t have any strength to give, Relena. You?ve always been stronger than me. I?ve told you that.? She smiled at him for a moment.
?You have no idea what you?re talking about, Heero.? She laughed a little as she finished her statement. If he was struck be her words he didn?t show it. ?Come on, I?ll buy you lunch.? She grabbed his wrist and began to pull him towards the door.
When you fall
When her fingers made contact with his wrist he felt like he was falling through the atmosphere. The tremendous heat and friction threw him around inside like a rag doll in a hurricane. Was this what it felt like to live? To take a risk that may lead you to fates unknown? Was this it? He made his decision then, that if this is what it felt like to live, then he?d better take advantage of the feeling while it lasted. As she started to pull his wrist he in turn grabbed hers and pulled her back to him. In the same motion as she came face to face with him he left no time to spare as he pressed his lips to hers.

She was flying. She had to be because any minute she was going to fall when her knees buckled under his kiss. As soon as they did his arm was around her holding her up. God, how did this man know exactly what to do all the time around her? Slowly she brought herself to stand and wrapped an arm around his neck and let her fingers weave through his hair. Her other hand slid across his back. She could feel the scars under his thin t-shirt, they were every where. As soon as she thought she felt the end of one another continued where the first left off. What had war done to him?
How many times have you looked
At yourself & felt mistreated
He wasn?t entirely sure why he was doing this, but it felt incredibly right. He didn?t feel like he was wandering anymore. Things started to fit into place, his emotions began to take hold and make his decisions. ?Perhaps this is what Odin meant all along.?
How does it feel to know that

Slowly they broke apart, neither knowing what to do next, so they just stood there. All their child hood they were led to believe they were something important. He was going to fight for a meaningful cause, she was going to be known through high society. And yet, neither were merely what they were raised to be. Those things seemed so far away, and so meaningless. They were here and now, when the only truly important thing, was that they were locked together in the world.

As they continued to stare at each other Relena slowly broke into a smile and leaned her head against his chest. ?Come on, I?m starving.? He smiled down at her, only nodding.

They walked down the side walk with their hands intertwined occasionally glancing at each other. They must have looked odd, He in jeans and a t-shirt, she in a crisp business suit. Once again they caught each other staring, and only smiled, like it was the most normal thing they could do.

This was life, he thought. This is what I was supposed to do if I survived. He was supposed to live. He caught her stare and smiled. This is were he belonged.
