If I should ever lose you, dear,
Is what I've always grown to fear.

You being a warrior with little self control,
but as you fight, remember, my brave soul:

You have someone to live for,
please remember it is you I adore.

I'm sad this thread hasn't taken off yet... Let's give it a kick start! I love this idea, though I wonder if the silly shorts section is appropriate. We don't have to post silly poems, do we? Well, here's a serious one, Relena to Heero:

for a change

why does it have to

be this way?

never knowing

when you?re hot or cold

this endless

stream of days

is grating on my nerves

and your lack of faith

just makes it worse

just what it is,

I?ll never know

you hide and lie

don?t tell me so

if it?s over

Calling fellow poets! I know there are more of you out there... who write Gundam Wing poems, to boot. I bet some of you could even make something up on the spot. So come on, get posting! I happen to have quite a few GW-inspired poems and songs... In fact, I'm thinking about composing Gundam Wing: The Musical. Don't laugh! There is a Star Wars one that played in Boston titled "Space Opera," so a Gundam Wing one could happen... especially with someone as tenacious as myself at the helm of the project.

So, here is the first poem I wrote from a GW character's perspective. ?Inside a Girl?s Heart? is the name of Relena?s theme, composed by Kou Ootani, and this theme appears in several incarnations throughout the Operation 1 OST. You can actually sing the words of this poem, if you are so inclined, to the tune of ?Soft Hair, Clear Eyes,? which is the most ?sing-able? manifestation of the theme. Keep in mind that the song is only two minutes long; thus, if you want to sing along with my lyrics, you?ll have to repeat the song all the way through. Well, happy singing!

Inside a Girl?s Heart

When you see my heart
If you look inside
There are fears that I just can?t hide
You can see all of me
When you look into my eyes

Oh, though I try so hard to keep it in
I can?t fight this restless feeling
It makes me want to scream and shout
How I long to let it all out

But I have to pretend
To stay in control
Though your gaze penetrates
My very soul
When you look in my heart
You will find
I am keeping you in mind

I can see your heart
When I look inside
There is so much that you try to hide
But every time, through and through
I?m falling more in love with you

Oh, though you try so hard to run away
I will find what it takes to make you stay
Though I can?t force you to be with me
I can only hope that you will see

When you look in my eyes
I lose control

The Absolute

You are called Heero Yuy
You called my principle a bunch of hooey.

They call you zero one

This current politic wheel
Seems, quite so, just another smug ideal

A platform of absolute peace
And, well, did not we all it release?

I assure you, it?s not out of the blue
What I did I did for you
Go ahead. Breathe anew.

But heed the key word prevalent on this earth
A word not meant at all for mirth.

Absolute.
Ain?t that the truth.

Yet yesterday you laughed at me, like hee hee hee
Today I found out why

Oh, How I?m inclined to cry.
In absolutes, there is no room to disagree

This peace I wish for all to know
In which I wish for all to grow

Is intolerant of any other supplement;
What happens when the government
Is threatened by forces that are - n't?

The base mortal right
To defend oneself from strife

Is exactly the excuse
A non-violent government will abuse

What I did I did for you.
But you will not breathe anew

My mistake to think I gave you a break
For you alone will that mission take

You are the Guardian of this age?s absolute
The fruition of a killer
The cultivator of killer fruit



I did not set you free
Instead I brought you to your knees

You will never know this peace
You are its bane, not its cheese

I did have the power to change the people?s mind
And thus I placed you in a bind

You don?t seem to begrudge me, though
For fighting it appears is all you know

I was a fool
This world is very cruel

You will do murder
For this peace to further

In my sorrow I drown
I?m disaffected; give me back my crown

I failed my own mission
To perfect a vision

The people won?t mind; they don?t even know
Peck out their eyes just like a crow

So long as they have their prosperity
Peace can be twisted into any kind of parody

But you aren?t twisted
You knew all along
Your hands you just fisted
Till the ring of the gong

When that sucker chimes you get suited up
Cuz it?s in your pre-nup
You?re married to the mission
And the absolute vision

Again you laugh at me

Tis a catastrophe
The Guardianl attacks

Did not know it would be the ruin of more than a few
