Character info: Instead of introducing them in the story, I?m going to introduce these guys here, they?re no one really important, but I thought it would be better than always typing Nameless Officer and so on.

What Hangs in the Balance
The four Fedi gundams close on the oncoming enemy. This will be Tammy?s first time, but the other three are psyched, prepared, their hearts filled with rage. Each one of them having their own reasons. Tammy?s soul could only watch in horror on what she was about to do. Joshua: ?I don?t see any enemy ms out there.? Kyle: ?They could still be in hiding, stay on your guard. That goes for you too Quinn. Hey Tammy?? Tammy: ?What do you want?? Kyle: ?If we live through this, why don?t you join me for a drink?? Tammy: ?In case you didn?t notice, there are going to be people shooting at us soon. Best get your head in the game? They?re here!? They all slam on their foot pedals and the gundams scatter. The Purity hits multiple targets at once giving the enemy little chance to fire back. Nameless ma pilot: ?Commander Jones, I can?t sense the pilot of that mobile suit. I can?t?? The pilot?s unit is blown away. A single mobile armor closes on the Blue Gundam fast. Tammy hesitates, but fires her beam rifle destroying the mobile armor. She reacts in shock, but Kyle moves in the way to protect her. Kyle: ?Tammy, snap out of it!? Johnathen: ?All units, commence firing, full barrage!?
?Only a precaution?? The space in front of the Ultima is lit up with green lines. Hails of missiles collide with each other setting off brilliant explosions. Everyone aboard the Armageddon watch as the Fedies slaughter helpless Ucon mobile armors. Michael and some others break off from the battle and try to flank the Fedies again. As he comes around, mobile suits move to intercept the group. Michael signals the other mobile armors and says, ?Try to hold them up, I?m going to try to get around them.? Wingman: ?You won?t be able to do much alone, pal.? Michael: ?I?m gonna try getting them from behind, hold out until then.? All pilots: ?Yes sir!? Michael?s gunrunner falls behind and faces upward. He bolts upward and turns off the engines. He drifts past the mobile suits just as the other five attack. Before he can turn around, the three suits shoot down three mobile armors. One of the units got a shot off and destroyed a Fedi suit. MA pilot: ?I did it, I shot down a mobile suit!? Just then, another suit landed on the mobile armor and shoved the beam gun barrel into the cockpit and vaporized the pilot. The other armor was destroyed and Michael was left alone, instead of fighting, he went further in.
Benjamin: ?Ucon is losing bad.? Madeline: ?They don?t have very long, I don?t understand why they don?t retreat.? Ben: ?They?re trying to gain Icon?s sympathy. They?d rather sink then swim. They?re idiots.? Vladimir: ?Captain, we?re receiving a hail from three Ucon warships, they?re requesting asylum.? Howard: ?Confirmed. Three refit dreadnoughts. Captain, they?re already on course to enter our space. Two ships are critically damaged, the other is adrift.? Ben: ?Tell them to stand by. Garcia, send message to Icon; Three Ucon warships requesting asylum. Captain recommends denying request. End message.? Garcia: ?Sir?? Benjamin: ?Captain, is that really necessary?? Ben: ?Ensign, I gave you an order.? Garcia: ?Y-y-yes Sir.? Tom comes in over the intercom and says, ?Are you nuts! I thought you were just an ass, but this?? Ben: ?Shut up! Remember you are still an officer sworn to follow MY orders. I could have your ass for insubordination.? Tom shuts off the com. Vladimir: ?Message coming in from Icon sir. It reads, ?By order of the Icon council, you are hereby ordered to deny said request for asylum.? Mary: ?Captain, the Ultima is launching!? Ben: ?Dammit, lock down the Ultima?s catapult system and prevent it from launching!? Ben slams the intercom, ?Tom, I said no, dammit!? Tom: ?Go?? Ben: ?NO!? Tom: ?Gotcha? GO!? The Ultima runs and dives out the hatch doors before they close. Kate: ?I?d better go get him, Ultima Fema, launching!? Ben just let his head fall in his hands. Veronica: ?Veronica, launching! How?s this for being insubordinate!? Ben: ?You are all going to hell.? The Ultima Fema and Veronica?s armor launch before the doors can even start to close.
Kyle is suddenly surrounded by mobile armors when he sees the burning Ucon vessels. ?Tammy. Joshua. Quinn. Take out those escaping Ucon vessels!? ?Gotcha.? ?Roger.? ?Yes sir.? Tammy was the closest and moved in. She couldn?t think, she wasn?t used to killing, but these were newtypes. All her life she had been told newtypes were monsters, and her mother hated them. Her consciousness struggled with the voice of her mother, but at last she said, ?Damn newtypes! All of you die!? She locked onto the closest target, and then, out of nowhere, a burst of energy blinded her targeter. Tammy turned to fire at the source of the blast, but then she saw the unfamiliar suit and she hesitated. Suddenly, a cable hit her shield, and her com systems turned on, a familiar voice come over the speakers, ?Attention Federation pilot! You are in Icon territory, turn back now or we will open fire!? Joshua was stopped by vulcan fire, the Ultima Fema blocked her path. Joshua saw a cable next to her suit, she grabbed the cable and said over the com, ?Those are Ucon warships, and we have the right to pursue them!? Kate: ?Nice wings you got there, but mine are bigger.? ?What?? The Ultima Fema reached for its beam mallet. Joshua smiled and said, ?Do you really want this to get ugly?? ?Funny, I was going to say the same thing.? Quinn was stopped by Veronica. Quinn took aim, Veronica responded by activating her sabers, Quinn just smiled. Veronica focused her eyes, ?You don?t think you can take me on, do you??
Tammy: ?We have the right to go after them, let us through? now!? Tom heard the voice and was shocked. It was the same little girl?s voice. His sister?s voice. Tom: ?Tammy?? ?Tom? Tom is that you?? ?W-what are?? ?I?m sorry Tom. You have to let me through.? Tammy locked onto the Ultima, and Tom?s warning light went off. ?What are you doing fighting with the Federation? why are you killing newtypes!? ?Stop it!? Tammy jerks on the controls, and the Blue Gundam jerks its shield severing the connection. Tom watches in disbelief. All his memories of her flash before him.
?I love you big brother.? kept echoing in Tom?s mind, and then, Tammy pulls the trigger.
