A/N: This chapter is PURE fluff! You have been warned! ? I got this idea from a great fan fiction I read ?Back to high school daydreams? by gundampilotX24, the beginning of the story, except the first chapter of course, may be similar, what with the job threats, driving dressed up, and being shown around? because I honestly didn?t know any other way to start it out? but afterwards it?s completely different so yeah I?m not stealing anything? just barrowing excellent ideas, THEY AREN?T MINE SO DON?T APPRECIATE THEM? but everything else you can appreciate, so APPRECIATE THEM! ? lol
This story is rated M for mild language, some violance, a few lemons in later chapters

Year 197, after the fall of Mariemaia?s short rein; everything seemed to return to normal, there was a relative peace, Relena Darlian Peacecraft and her Brother Zechs/Milliardo Marquise made sure of that? but all know that wars never really cease.

Heero lay limp in the dark hospital room, staring out the window. It was a day after he had been moved to the hospital? a day after Relena had held him to her?
Relena?
?Why do my thoughts keep going back to her? Why is it that I can?t understand what I?m feeling around her? Why do I run?? his last thought surprised him. Run? What would he be running from? Unless he was?
?I?m afraid?? his eyes widened with realization, ?what am I afraid of? why am I afraid around her?? he asked himself. Heero clutched the covers and shut his eyes tight, ?Why?? he pleaded.
He opened his eyes and looked out the window again; he saw a couple walk by his window hand in hand and leaning on each other for support, staring into each others eyes as they walked. He closed his eyes again and suddenly he remembered the day at the hanger at Libra? her eyes? he remembered her eyes, they held so much emotion, Worry, Fear, Hope, Longing and ? Love? Did he see love in her eyes? He opened his eyes again and burrowed his eye brows in confusing. Love? Why? How? How could she love him? HIM! He never did anything to deserve it? or her...
Love?
Is that what he felt for her? Is that the indefinable emotion he has been feeling around her? The emotion that made him melt and feel happy and strong yet frustrated and terrified at the same time? He cared for her deeply that was for sure, he always went to her when she was in trouble, he always looked out for her, he would give his life for her, he wanted nothing more then to see her happy, to see her smile. Heero shook his head, ?What is this feeling?? he sighed frustratedly, ?I wonder how she is?? the corner of his lip tugged into a small smile and he closed his eyes again ?Relena? why do you invade my every thought?? he pondered.

Relena had just finished delivering a cheerful speech to the public; she said her goodbyes and was led to her limo. She sighed when she got on, ?Morning Relena dear? greeted Relena?s family friend and butler.
?Good morning Pagan? she greeted the smiling man, he started the car and drove off the curve.
?Have anywhere specific you would like to go this fine day?? Pagan pondered and looked at the rearview mirror, He saw Relena smile brightly.
?Why yes! I?d like to go to the Hospital they?re keeping Heero in? remember the one I told you about yesterday?? she said happily, Pagan smiled and nodded, he pulled into a road that would quickly take them to hospital.

Heero tossed in the uncomfortable bed, he was so bored he had fallen asleep. His sleep was full of nightmares, nightmares of a single person, one nightmare worse then the other. Nightmares were he was on a mission and accidentally shot Relena; Nightmares were Relena was thrown off a building or tortured in some gruesome way and he couldn?t move or speak, he couldn?t save her? and his latest nightmare? Relena was sent away and forced to marry some guy? she fell for him right in front of Heero?s eyes.
Heero called out to her but she simply said he didn?t need to worry, he has everything he needs, Heero shook his head and says he doesn?t have everything he needs, he needs her, but all she did was smile and fade into the darkness saying ?bye Heero?, Heero tried calling but she was gone? he would never see her again.
Heero woke up and sat up with a start, screaming her name ?RELENA! No! Don?t leave me! I need you?? He said sadly, ?Huh?? he looked around the hospital room and tilted his head in confusion then shook it, ?Just a dream?? he muttered and lay back down, he closed his eyes again. ?Need? I need her? is that true? I care for her? a lot; I wouldn?t know what to do if anything happened to her? I guess I do... I do need her? I? do I love her?? he asked himself once more, he sighed deeply and relaxed,
?Yes?? he reasoned aloud ?Relena? Look what you?ve done to me?? he smirked and listened to her footsteps come closer to his room, he would know the way she walked anywhere; light steps but full of grace and pride. Heero kept his eyes closed and leveled his breathing to appear asleep, he heard the door open.
?Heero?? Relena muttered and watched his silhouette in the room, she sighed and walked beside his bed, she sat down next to him and smiled; she reached over and gently stroked the hair that draped over his face away. Heero tensed slightly at her touch but then relaxed, enjoying the warmth and gentleness of her touch. Heero heard her sigh again and stood up to leave
?No?? he thought, having a sudden urge to keep her there. Relena turned to leave but something caught her wrist, she whirled around to see Heero looking up at her.
?Heero?? she asked, a smile creeping to her lips, Relena was pleased to see him smile back, but rather shocked as well, since when did he smile? And at her!
?Relena? stay?? he asked softly, Relena?s eyes widened, she couldn?t find her voice so she simply nodded and sat back down, she smiled at him and went to move the rebellious hair of his away from his eyes again. To her surprise, Heero caught her hand and lightly brushed his lips on the back of her hand, she looked at him questioningly,
?Heero?? she asked, all he did was bring her hand to his cheek, he closed his eyes and smiled when he felt her caress his face, he leaned against her touch, ?Heero what?s wrong? You don?t seem yourself?? she said quietly.
Heero opened his eyes and locked them with hers, ?Relena?? he started and grabbed a hold of both her hands, ?Relena you?ve always been there for me? cared for me, worried for me and I just? thank you? he said and searched her eyes. Relena smiled and relaxed.
?You?re very welcome? she said tenderly and smiled brightly when he smirked but then got a little worried when he frowned and closed his eyes.
?Heero?? she wondered
?Relena? do you love me?? he asked rather bluntly, he opened his eyes and searched hers again, her eyes were wide and full of many emotions, for a split second he could make out Shock, Fear, Worry, Hope, and then soften to the familiar emotion he could only describe as Love?
Relena smiled and closed her eyes, she opened her eyes again to meet his ?I do?? she said quietly, then turned her face away from him, afraid to see what was in his beautiful deep Prussian orbs.
Heero wasn?t as shocked as he thought he?d be, so the love he felt for her wasn?t one sided? He smiled warmly and squeezed her hands to get her to look at him again. The smiled that he was giving her made her melt, she found herself lost in his eyes again.
Heero brought his own hand to her face and caressed her cheek, ?I do too, I know that now?? he said softly, he saw her eyes brim with tears, a single tear drop went down her cheek and he rubbed it away with his thumb.
Heero opened his arms and Relena happily accepted his embrace, clutching his shirt and silently sobbing on his chest. Heero smiled and stroked the back of her hair, tangling his fingers with her silky honey blond hair. He felt her shiver at his touch then relax and calm down. Relena sighed happily and relaxed on him, listening to the rhythmic sounds of his heart beat.
?Relena?? Heero asked; she looked up at him again.
?Yes Heero??
?What will I do now? Now that the war is over? there is no need for soldiers anymore??
Relena smirked and looked into his eyes, ?You could always work as a Preventer??
Heero returned the smirk and nodded in agreement. Relena felt Heero scoot over, she blushed but got on the bed and laid down beside him, she blushed even more when he wrapped his powerful arms around her.
Relena smiled contently and snuggled closer to him, she felt so safe in his arms, so warm? she smiled and listened to his heartbeats, letting them lull her to sleep. ?I could get use to this?? was the thought they both shared as they lay there in each others arms, content, warm, and loved.
