Beach Conversations-One shot

Description: This is an AU, if you have to put it in a timeline they're just out of high school about to go to college.
He loved the way the beach sounded at night, how it smelled as the tide washed itself onshore. There was barely a moon out tonight, it peaked through the clouds shining scantly on Heero Yuy's bench.
Heero Yuy was a player. It was simple, not really a hard thing to do, especially when you looked good and talked with a golden tongue. His way of life wasn't really bad, he broke a few hearts every now and then, but nothing they eventually couldn't live with. Heero on the other hand?
So here he was on another date, at least this time playing wingman. He didn't have feelings either way, it was always an eventuality for him. Something like, if you strike a match it will catch on fie, if Heero went on a date, he got laid.
So he sat there just listening, as another wave broke. He could see the foam receding back into the water, this was one of his few places to come and think. The solitude it brought him was a favorite in his mind, where he could remember why he was, the way he was. It always came back to that one name, that haunting woman.
"Heero, we need to get back inside, these girls are not going to woo themselves, and Wufei sure as hell isn't going to do it." Duo had approached and sat, legs spread, on the bench.
"Fuck it man, We'll end up sleeping with them eventually just leave it be, I need to take a walk be back in 15." Heero stood up and walked down the stairs of the dock.
The beach dirt got in between his sandals and feet, kicking up the wet sand that was on the beach line. His shorts felt the breeze sweep up his legs, that oh so familiar calming sound, interrupted, by her siren voice.
"Heero Yuy, what's a good looking guy like you doing, walking this beach alone." Her golden tresses seemed pale the way the moon hit them. Her smile was a porcelain white in the dark.
He turned around, stopping completely in the dirt to wait for her to catch up to him, his heart skipped a beat and his hands clenched. Heero was feeling that first-date feeling all over again, from this girl and only this girl.
"Relena, your here? Why, I mean how'd you get here?" That golden tongue he was known for just didn't seem to be working.
She strolled up to him, self confidence seemed to flow off of her, weakening his every immunity to a woman's speech or touch. Her hand glided on the back of neck landing on his right shoulder where she positioned her body into the groove between his arm and chest.
"Mr.Yuy, I did not know that you owned this beach."
She was whispering this in his ear as they continued walking on the beach. His eyes rolled back, if it had been lighter out she would have seen the slight smile beginning to break on face.
His arm reached around her waist pulling her closer, but far enough away to stay in the 'safe zone' as it were, he didn't feel safe at all.
"When did you get here?" He poised the question again, more in control of his faculties now.
"I drove with Cathy, she's visiting her brother Trowa, aren't you staying with him tonight?" Her eyes looked up at him reading his answer.
"Are you staying over as well tonight, we could rekindle some past experiences."
It was said with all the cockiness and ease that he used when joking, but the phrase carried so much truth in it. All he wanted was to be with her again.
"My, my, I never expected you to be so clingy Heero. You'd think someone with your reputation would have moved on by now."
"Reputation! I've done nothing worthy of a 'reputation'." Heero said his eyes turning down towards Relena.
"You had sex with your friends girlfriend!"She exclaimed.
"Quatre is more an acquaintance, and Dorothy came on to me" he thought for a second 'They always come to me.'
"My best friend is Dorothy and you had sex then left her. You'd think you'd have the courtesy to take her on a date at least once." She seemed to be getting angry and removed herself from his hold.
"It would be a waste of time and money, I had no interest in her."
Relena walked further away in disgust. She crossed her arms and kept walking forward.
"Don't act like such a fucking child Relena." Heero grabbed her arm and pulled her in front of him. He narrowed his eyes and looked harshly at her. He didn't want to yell at her, didn't want to put that pouty sad expression on her face that she got when she was hurt, but he needed to get this off his chest.
"This is your fault anyway Relena, and don't look so surprised, you left, not me!" He didn't scream it, more hissed it out.
"Your inability to control your lust is your own, the blame belongs to you, you are this way because of your decisions." She responded, her body pulling itself from his grasp.
Heero's eyes narrowed more and he leaned closer in.
"My decision was to love you, I told you that and you fucked someone else, don't give me that bullshit. Karma is a bitch Relena, it's just beginning to hit you full circle."
She turned her head down and looked away, she was trying to hide her tears. He still felt that love for her, and it killed him to do this to her, but this anger had been boiling.
"Heero, I...I....I can't do it. Your feelings are wrong." She stepped away putting some space between them.
"Maybe they are, maybe I'm to young to understand what it is to love, and maybe love doesn't exist, but I spend every night thinking about you." He grabbed her again and pulled her closer, his arm wrapped around her positioning itself on the small of her back. Heero leaned in closer his other hand grasping the back of her head, her eyes had closed and he brought the kiss in slow. His lips grabbed at her own , slowly pushing his tongue into hers. The gasp but quick response of her own tongue let him know she wasn't feeling violated.
She broke the contact though, and took two steps back, her hands folded across her chest.
"Heero, we can't."
She walked away again, twice she had left him, twice he had told her that he had loved her. He needed to forget this night and the nights before. He went back to his date, he'd fuck that girl he was supposed to go out with tonight.
