Is anyone out there waiting for a bolt of inspiration to hit? Or maybe you want to try something out of the ordinary? If you are interested, do you want a new theme for the Scenes from an Italian Restaurant fanzine?

Anyone who has a really good idea for a new theme, let me know here. Or I'll throw a few out there for you guys to nibble on a bit and see if you can come up with anything.

I think this could be a really neat idea if we get it going- a place to store a bunch of interesting, out of the ordinary 1xR fics and artwork. Soooooo... do we want to put publication dates back on again? So that everything gets submitted at once and there's a lot to read? Or do you like the "send anytime for anything" idea better?

What if we had a contest?

Ahhhhh I have too many ideas haha. Just let me know what you want.

Here are some sample ideas for new themes-

1. We could do a shindig where you email me with a sentence, just a random beginning of a 1xR story in one sentence. Then I mix the sentences up and send them out to someone else, and you have to write a story using the sentence you receive that someone else came up with.

2. I've always thought the idea of Heero and Relena being "lost" somewhere was fun to play with, they can be lost anywhere, they just can't have any outside contact for a set number of days and you go from there.

3. I pick out three items randomly, and list them, and then each story must contain those three items in it somewhere.

Any other ideas?? More conventional themes maybe?? I'm trying to get some stories that think outside the usual 1xR box, because it seems like almost everything now has been done before, and I think the GWing fandom and 1xR need an overhaul with new, extraordinary fics. Maybe it would give the fandom a real jump start.

Annnnnyway Rose is probably going to kill me now for all these posts poking and prodding you all to write stuff for me. (pleeeeeease) But let me know what you want! This could be fuuuuuuunn.....

Heero and Relena stranded on an island sounds really interesting and original, I don't think it's been done before...

I'm in! ... Which one?

We could do the first two consecutively if people wanted to, because I'm thinking that with both we need to have some kind of limit on how long they should be just so people don't go overboard and write a 20 chapter novel haha. Maybe one of them could be a contest and could be judged?

If we want to do the first sentence dealio, you'll need to email me both a first line and your email address you want to get the line you get assigned sent to. (I'll probably draw them out of a hat in case I want to do it too so it's fair to everyone)

Okay so I should probably name these challenges or something. I'm not sure either will be a contest to be judged yet, but we can decide if we want to do that once we start getting eager participants.

I am going to create a new topic post with the official challenges in it, so this one can still be used for ideas, themes, etc.

Also- what date should be the ending date for submissions on these??

i've seen loads of deser island fics. just saying. im brainstorming as of nw.. i always come up wit a million idea that i never get down on papaer. you can have them.

like, last night, i had an idea that relena isn''t really relena. she was a copy made from the dna of the original.


that lead on to the idea that there are two types of humans. naturals and supernaturals. the naturals are normally born people as we see today. supernaturals are adjusted people born into perfection, perfection being the image on one man's vision. the naturals become illegal, as a law was passed by a supernatural government saying that only those of perfection can live. supernaturals are those who do not have emotion to ruin the world with and have physical perfection. relena is a natural running an illegal naturals shelter in the outskirts of the only remaining city in the country. everything else is wasteland beyond the city. heero is a supernatural who serves as a natural hunter for the government. he meets relena when she pretends to be a supernatural to get food in the city. he was fooled by her amazing acting skills, as she could very well pull off the emotionless tone of a supernatural. then, he starts seeing corruptiveness in the system. he felt an emotion...so he turns to the cause of it. relena.

I think the switching quotes thing sounds pretty cool. It'd be an interesting challenge, at least.
